  • Someone asked for a longer video so here is an unedited 25 minute segment straight from the GoPro.
We leave the dock and tack into 16 -18 kts, ideal weather for a heavy Crab Skiff / Sharpie. I built "Tempo" in 2005, she is the "18-foot Modified Sharpie Skiff, Hooper Island, Chesapeake Bay, 1906" sharpie from Reuel Parker's "The Sharpie Book".

Finally a video without stupid music, the sound of the clapotis feels like being there on the water, thank you!

I can't praise these videos enough. The sharpie looks beautifully built and well sailed. It's very soothing.

you really need one of each. Doesn't matter which you build first, heh.

Really nice sailing action. I'd also like to see footage of the same trip from off the boat so you could see it's profile & movement

Beautiful, I want to build one! Could it be build in solid wood, Its hard to find good plywood where I live...

Up until recently they were all built from solid timber : ) Get "The Sharpie Book" by Reuel Parker. I built Tempo from that book. Many other sharpies are covered. "The Sharpie Book" is a must read for those interested in Sharpies.

@@tilroh Yes I have that book. Just need to learn about this building method. Here in Norway its many clinker buildt boats. Maybe clinker sides would be nice...

@@Fredstli clinker would be very pretty. Build a small kayak to learn the tricks of epoxy.

@@Fredstli I think the ncmaritimemuseumbeaufort - dot- com sells traditional sharpie plans. People on forum.woodenboat -dot- com will know more options.
