As someone who uses mostly meta cars, I gotta give mad props to those that invest on non-meta despite knowing it may limiting them. I can agree that using meta cars doesn't automatically mean you're winning vs battles most of times since I always experienced it with my buddy who mains a 991 🤔 In all honesty, as long as one have fun, who cares if the car is bad, in the end of the day, it's you who choose what car you want to main with.
Playing non-meta cars really opened my eyes quite a bit, but picking up the 190E (cameo appearance o.o) and using other cars like the GC8 and Chaser actually made me enjoy the game more, even if I wasn't really an active player anymore. Great vid as always. P.S. Glad we got to do a few games after all these years, and with the others too :D
Kinda can relate when you mentioned your experience driving the Evo 9 haha I borrowed some R32s and an Evo 9 for battle (i main an Evo 6) and the VS effectiveness surely is way better compared to my "rare" picks, yet I still stuck with the E6, it felt so wrong not driving it LOL Those were some good takes regarding picking either META or non-META cars, skill at the end is the better factor on what decides an outcome of a VS battle which makes the whole thing fun
Thanks jarwrks for your comment! 😊 Glad you could relate in some way to my experience. It’s always the comparison you need to realise whether a car is for you or not 😅 All the best using the Evo 6! 🙏
Couldn’t have said it better. I think trying out several cars (after getting used to your first car) is part of taking your skills to the next level. My personal experience: I main-ed (and still main up to this day) a BRZ for the 1st 4 months till I got “stuck” with my progress. I used a full tune ticket to get an Evo 8 (still not super meta, but closer than a BRZ), and the difference is massive: way better control, better weight, etc. But at some point, the “more meta” car got very predictable, and after a couple months of playing just the Evo 8 I returned to my BRZ. Surprisingly, kinda similar to what you said, with newfound appreciation of your car’s abilities and limitations, somehow I’ve got friends telling me the acceleration and cornering speed of my BRZ is even better than the Evo 8. I guess it had something to do with the improving skill levels over time; the car is just icing on top of the cake which could never outperform the driver’s ability. Conclusion: I’m all for non-meta cars, but I believe new players should have an open mindset to pick whatever car they like, get good with it, then try another car for comparison, then it’s up to them whether they want to revisit the previous car to perhaps unlock some hidden potentials. 🫶
Hi DUCC i watched your videos for the past month since i started playing wmmt5+ for the past month. i main WRX STI 6 speed and just recently got all the crowns and fastest time in C1 inward TA. I see lots of R32 and FD. and i can confidently say, after spamming 100+ hours, it’s all skills. granted sometimes i still lose in battles to FD and R32 but mostly because those players have been playing the game longer than I have and knows the lines better even when trying to having a “clean” race and small bumps here and there but the game is really fun! :)
IMO spending time with non meta cars helps hone a players skills, then switching back to meta cars may help them appreciate the difference in performance between meta and non meta, because that's exactly what happened with me. I spent a lot of time driving an Evo 5, Evo X and R33 GTR, learning certain game mechanics, how the physics work and other aspects of the game. Then when I decided to play VS with my Evo 8, only then did I truly appreciate the performance advantage of a meta car. (9:30 kinda proves my point) BTW I really like this new discussion style video format, do more pls.
The problem is they don’t update the patch and change the meta. I always saw r32 and evo9 only. That’s all. Take a look at initial d the arcade, they update the meta frequently so the player will try different things. Not R32, Evo9, Evo8, RX7 the whole game.
Hi ducc, im a fan of your channel since last yr and i wanna say that i used to use a ae86 as a main car and before that i mained a r32 (now i have a rename set) and i can say that the ae86 was very smooth and helped me learn corners which i couldnt do with r32 lasttime. I now main r32 back again cuz i sold the ae86 data to my fren and i can say that non meta cars are also very good!!
My stance on meta and non-meta cars is that the meta cars are for the players that want to be competitive, while non-meta cars are for the players that love to explore and experiment. Though, in the long run, it's up to the player to shine with these cars. It shouldn't really matter what car you use so long as it meets your needs and serves you well, whether or not its part of the meta. What matters is that you stand on business regardless of your car choice. That's all I have to say.
This video proves that the 110s needs to be nerfed >:( But in all seriousness, we will have that meta phase at one point in our time playing. Some either choose to stick with it mostly, or others would go back to their non-meta mains once they are confident that they're better. All you need is adjusting and you'll definitely get used to it. Then again, some people pick the meta, not because of the meta but because they like the car irl. While meta is recommended to get better, non-meta is there once in a while if you want to try something different. Like you said in the video, personal preference. I still don't regret maining the Mazda Eunos Cosmo, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT and Subaru Legacy BM9 throughout my experience within the game, but I did have that R32 phase at one point to get better. And I'm thankful for that. Good insight, Ducc.
Thanks thesevenmax 🙏 Appreciate the points that you brought up that weren't addressed in the video, agree with them as well 👍 Also now that I think about it, meta is inevitable, whether u like it or not hehe
I personally don’t have a main ride in the game. As of late, NSX-R is the car I use most frequently. I think part of the non-meta mindset is psyching your opponents in terms of how they’ll deal with a car they hardly encounter. Of course, the drawback is you’ll need to find out for yourself through trial and error on how to counter your opponent’s moves because of relatively scarce info compared to meta rides. For TA, odds favor you more to get a MR time when using a non-meta car. When I was still in the midst of my Metro Hwy experiments last year, most non-meta rides I used back then still hold the MR’s - or at least close to - up to now (e.g., BRZ, M1, C6, Celsior just to name a few).

Always liked having variety in wmmt and any game i play in general. There’s a reason why people choose to use meta cars, which I explained in the video. But, it is good that you choose cars you like or find goofy/ funny to use as well.
I have Evo as my first car in mt only reason why I got Evo as my meta car because I know everyone in my use Evo and r32 in my but I choose Evo as my first car in my when I first played mt after I got bored at my Evo I started to use other cars like fd rx7 r34 and r32
just use the car of ur liking not the meta, it's really dull seeing r32s in every match man i wanna see variations of cars like back in 3dx plus or 4. I main grb love rally cars

Can you suggest some Good Cars that arent Meta but still can keep up with meta GSRs and GTRs? so far i been starting with 110s cuz i heard it was an underrated car but still can keep with meta cars.
110s is a good choice. But I’d also recommend cars like the RX8, R34 or AE86.
Skill is still the main factor in helping you keep up with others. So don’t only depend on good cars to help you win.
What is the meaning of Meta car and non meta car? What are the difference between them.
Watch the video and let me know, thanks 👍
@@DUCC_WMMT I have watched already.

@@DUCC_WMMT okay its 501 ghost wins
Its kinda idk unfun to play against with people meta cars because theres no varieties despite that the game offers alot of cars to choose me myself been using cars that i find it look good or goofy just for the memes
There’s a reason why people choose to use meta cars, which I explained in the video.
But, it is good that you choose cars you like or find goofy/ funny to use as well.
Well what'd y'know VSORG Japan is back lol
Predicted?? 😅
@@DUCC_WMMT You completely predicted it lol
In my rating Evo 9 is non - meta because someone ever use Evo 9 and they lose to my NSX Hybrid and other people's GTR 50 Italdesign
I see, all the best using your NSX Hybrid 👍
Thank you for your comment.
shoutout to non-meta players, i can never (average R32 main)
shoutout to those who chose r32 or e9 without knowing they were meta (we have seen)
in an alternate universe SAMY GDB-F and DUCC R32 (this can be a reality) @@DUCC_WMMT
We making it out of the metaverse with this one 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥
I have Evo as my first car in mt only reason why I got Evo as my meta car because I know everyone in my use Evo and r32 in my but I choose Evo as my first car in my when I first played mt after I got bored at my Evo I started to use other cars like fd rx7 r34 and r32
just use the car of ur liking not the meta, it's really dull seeing r32s in every match man i wanna see variations of cars like back in 3dx plus or 4. I main grb love rally cars
Yes I agree Ben 👍
