      I don’t know bro the car may be not that expensive now but maintaining it is. Taxes are astronomically high here in EU because of the 4l engine, and fuel economy is horrible so expect to fill up atleast once a week, costing up to 600 euros a month easily simply on gas. Then you have tires, breaks, maintenance which you need to do twice a year, etc.
      So honestly I don’t think you will have one any time soon my friend, I’m sorry.

    I just got mine 2 weeks ago (21’ 63) only 4K miles on it so far. It’s the last of the V8’s so I might hold on to this one. The ride can be a bit stiff in less then smooth roads but the smile this car puts on my face is worth it all. I daily a civic so when I get into this thing it’s pure bliss.

    As a c63s owner, you NEED to put some wrap protection on the driver and passenger doors. Mines in the hyacinth red and you can quite noticeably see the wheel spray on the bottom of the doors from the front wheels and i still avoid gravel roads like the plague

      @@sebastianbertelsen9215 No major breakdowns. I followed the service guidelines pretty strictly (once every 10k km). That being said, the car runs through consumables (like tires, sparkplugs, break pads) pretty fast. If you don't drive like a maniac, you might save money on these parts over time, but what's the point of owning one of these without having some fun? You'll definitely have plenty of fun over the years but be prepared for the cost of running this thing.

    I’ve got a late 2020 W205 C63 Saloon. It had a particulate filter that supposedly quietens the exhaust. I’ve driven gen 1 cars and it sounds the same when the valves are open.
    I love my C63, I’ve had M cars for nearly 20 years, E36,E46,E90,M140. The C63 is the more complete all rounder. Docile unless you provoke it then it’s an absolute animal, sliding as much as you want you tyres to last, and sounds like a NASCAR at full chat. I’ll keep this car until it dies or I die first. Best car I’ve ever owned.

      Secondary cat delete did not yield a check engine light since only the primary cats have 02 sensors. These are basically just resonators on the AMG sport exhaust in 2018. Not too sure about what it’ll do on the 2020 but it’s probably the same. There’s an older video on my channel that has some gopro exhaust footage. • @velocitycrew
      @velocitycrew  3 года назад +8

      Hey Viktor thanks for the comment. It really depends on what you want out of the car. The w205 is certainly more refined, has newer tech, better fuel economy, and a little more comfort. It’s by all measures, technically a “better” car. However, the w204 (especially 2012+) is much more raw, it evokes more excitement while driving in my opinion, and it’s just a more beastly car. I’ve had both and loved them a ton, both incredibly fun in their own right. I’d say it really comes down to your budget and do you want a more technically advanced car, or the one that’s more raw.

Only reason to get the S might be for some the of interior extras, but those can also be added on options in the non S model. • @statusquoreject
      @statusquoreject 2 года назад +3

      @@quinyboties here’s the thing, you don’t feel the adaptive engine mounts unless you’re on the track and tossing the car through turns at very high speeds. The average person doesn’t have the driving skills to need adaptive engine mounts nor will they ever be able to go fast enough to utilize them; and I guarantee that you wouldn’t even be able to tell if they were working or not. They are an option for people who don’t know any better and who don’t really understand cars or what the mounts do, and who just want to check all the option boxes because they think that’s a win.
      Just because a car has “premium” options doesn’t mean that Joe Schmoe the driver needs them. A smart car buyer knows how to pay for only what they need and will use. People who are familiar with & that understand the C63 platform know that the non S model has all the same performance capabilities of the S but is $15k+ cheaper. Suspension is the same, trans is the same, motor is the same. If you want a race rear diff, then why not get an aftermarket one that’s much stronger than the one that comes from AMG at fraction of the price and one that lets you launch the car over and over without breaking. A race tune costs $1-2k and you’d have more power than the S model… So why pay an extra $15k when you can get better parts and more power going the aftermarket route?
      Also buying a c63s is not really an emotional decision either, unless you’re buying a car that you can’t afford in which case a persons spending habits are the emotional problem, not the car. Knowing what car to buy, at what price, and in what given market is anything but emotional; rather it’s very calculated and planned out. Buying any car you don’t have the cask to pay off is always not a rationale decision. I looked around & studied the market for 6 months before I bought my C63S. I got mine w/ 16k miles in mint condition & pretty much fully loaded for $56k after some negotiation, which is close to half off the MSRP price so I saved plenty and only spent what I could afford to pay off in cash. I waited until that last day of the year so the dealership was desperate to get the car off their books & I bought it at the beginning of Covid because studying the market showed me that the value and prices would rise and I knew it was the last gen v8 AMG will make of this car so it will be sought after as time passes. Now the car has gone up in value and is worth more than I paid for it.
      I also was lucky enough to do the same with an S2000 that i paid $13k for and is now going for ~&30-$40k in the market. Anyone can get a good deal on a car, it’s just about how you plan it out and what market you buy it in.

    • @quinyboties
      @quinyboties 2 года назад

      @@statusquoreject Imo it’s an emotion decision one as it’s a c class and you’re paying over 80k for it. Its rough, loud. You can get a nicely loaded e and even a slightly used s class for that price. I definitely feel the engine mounts when cornering but that’s prob down to the way I drive as you’ve said. I’m speaking for myself as I choose this car based on the sound and engine, that’s emotional. I’m lucky that i’m in a position that I don’t have to worry much about paying 90k for one. Anyway congrats on your c63! Enjoy it in good health

    the s and the non s have the same wheels size. the coup and the estate have 20 in in the back and 19 in on the front, while the limo has 19s all around.
    one interesting thing that most people dont notice, look at 3:58 the right side where the arch that holds the top of the front connect with the car.
    In a normal c-klass there are no spacers but all the c-klasses from amg except for the 202, so those 203, 204,205 have those.
    Why?
    The engine could not fit.
    No also the 203 with the first engine, the kompressor did not have it, the version with the 5.5 v8 needed it to fit so they all have different front than normal ones.
    so they have a different side panel and a longer front hood it is only about 3-4cm but if you look at it it makes huge difference, especially on the 203
    One thing, when you go for a ride i after the tune never try to touch the pedal, so try not to get the turbos engaged until the oil reach 70 degrees.
    when you see the 70, i drove sometimes like a berserker with 800 to 850 HP, but you wont get it broken.
    I don't want to play a wise guy but the turbos were placed there for a good reason, they are as near as possible to the exhaust spo if you know how a turbo works you can think for what reason. the further the the exhausts gasses have to travel to spool up the turbos the bigger the turbo lag gets. You have to hand it to AMG, with the m177 they built a masterpiece which is one of the best engines in this era, sorry bmw but igt is what it is. You can get this engine to 1500 hps with no monster turbos like they do in the bmws and stillhave a daily driverc which will runn 200k km without having to vorry.
    The vent's go on always since the engine was pu t in with a shoe spoon, and the engine runs hotter than it should, so i had a bigger intercooler sert but never did i come around to swap it,m i just had to part with it sooner than i taught, i really loved my car, my wife loved it even more, but my dad needed a artificial poubic bone, which only the titanium bone was 40 000 euro. I told my dad i will lend him the bone but when he dies ill get it back and use it s a gear shifter
    so only one rule with this car
    just follow the 70 degree rule
    Now i have to get to the bad stuff, the Burmaster is a complete rip off. Buremaster did what bose does, they equalized the shit of it so say it is nice, but even if it is only 1000 euro, you cant use harman drivers in the door and slap a Burmaster grill on it. charge 5000 but make it ight.
    the second one is , what looks like they forgot by mercedes they didnt think of the screen for the multimedia,and over this i never got to put it behind me.
    Like the main guy sAID, SHIT THE SCREEN, WELL WE WILL SLAP IT ON A HOLDER AND SINCE IT ALLREADY STIKS OUT LIKE THAT TAKE THE UGLIEST WHERE THE BEZZLES TAKE 40 % OF THE SCREEN, TERRIBLE, HORROR.
    I tried to sok around it and glot a nice screen, huuge, no bezzles and i was happy since it looked great, BUT, since all manufacturers were from china and not one of them taught to use, good and more expensive parts člie the capacitors and other electronic stuff< while it looked good it sounded like you have to listen to your wife pound on you verbally ever< time you take a drive for the whole drive, not gonna happen so i went back to the ugly one
    i just love the old gages and would pay to have them.
    the cars pulling up is really is a bigthing.Ny wife had a drivers license and never drove, never wanted to, when i got this car, i really had to hide the keys to be able to use this car. She allways was waitingfor dudes to puff up on the light and were like look at that silly thing and she would let them go ahead, opened the exhaust to sport plus and left guys in their bmws and similar jump scared when she flew buy, loosing the glassesand on the next red light, they allways stayed behind although they could but they probably saw we were laughing our asses off, and they deflated and stopped t hit the chest like the gorillas
    ruclips.net/video/WRCwLt57cQQ/видео.htmlsi=_xAImH8P2s4y0yk3
    before the big turbos
    so , i know im a few years late, but since the new c63 is a nogo, manny will look the w205s up again
    I for my part liked your review, doesn't matter that a lot of stuff not there, but qa honest review from a not petrolhead to other people who aren't so interested in all the details
    thank you for a different rewiev

      Yeah I put the OEM springs back on and removed spacers before selling. It’s a great car, still has warranty, etc. Carmax usually conducts pretty sturdy business so that’s interesting. Best of luck getting it!

      Not much beyond the 1500 mile service, then standard oil changes every 10k miles. I did also have to do brake pads twice, but that’s it. Maybe $1800-2000 total? Don’t quote me on that but it wasn’t crazy high considering I did everything through the dealer (car was a lease).
