    Eye Jax just talked about Maguire's lack of intelligence and awareness. And talked about how our players can't handle a simple press. An Ajax fan more observant than most United fans about their own club. The guy is a legend. I'm going to subscribe to him.

    • @sdemosi
      @sdemosi 2 года назад +3

      A lot of Utd fans have pointed this out but we've been drowned out by other fans who believed the hype. Club Legends have told us players were better than they are so what hope did dissenting fans have? Regularly making runs where you can't be found, picking the pass that's least likely to succeed, putting teammates under pressure when there are better options. It's possibly a waste of time to try to coach some players to be better. It's like baking a cake with sand, mud & then throwing icing on it.
      Intelligence, technique & athleticism. Ideally you get all 3 in a very good player but you should never have players that don't have at least 2 of these to a high standard and all to a decent standard.
      Maguire fails on athleticism. He would have to a generational talent in footballing intelligence & technique (like a Pirlo) to get away with his lack of pace. He isn't and so he was a stupid buy.
      AWB lacks the technique to do his job. Hugely athletic, not brilliantly aware but his technique deficit made him a stupid buy.
      Fred has technique but lacks physique. He was arguably another poor buy but nowhere near as bad as Maguire. Sancho is actually a good buy. He's coachable to be a great player. He already delivered to a high standard for Dortmund. Dan James appeared to lack technique and awareness. A terrible buy.
      Lindelof has intelligence but lacks the athleticism.
      This vintage of Ronaldo has the intelligence but is struggling with the pace of the game.
      Bailly without injury could be a great CB but he is so often injured.
      When a team has players with glaring weaknesses we can be beaten by less expensive teams. Fans blame the coach but the truth is an imbalanced squad of flawed players many of whom should never have been bought.

    It's more defenders than midfielders. To reach the summit of world football we will eventually have to upgrade on McFred, but they are good enough to take us back to being a secure top 4 every year. deGea, Wan-Bissaka, Dalot and Maguire are not. I know de Gea had a good year, but that's only because our opponents have not tested his weaknesses in dominating his area for crosses enough. If I were our opponents I'd be banging in crosses and corners into the 6 yard box, only Maguire to beat really....

    Yo Amigo,
    If United sticks with the 5 year plan it needs to build a strong team with an attacking football filosofie and sticks with the one plan, yes Ten Hag could build a strong united side with players that now how to play that kinda football, big names and just good names. If you put 11 biggest names in football in 1 team, there will be to much ego’s and they can win games but never win trophy’s year after year. Teams also need water carriers with fighting spirit. United needs a team that plays for the crowds in the stands. And if you play football like Ajax, Barca or City and things go well the crowd will love it, even if you loose sometimes.
    But where I wanted to go with this is this:
    If I was Ajax, and or United, yes Ten Hag goes to united. But I would also try to get Wayne Rooney to be boss of Ajax team. And let him get a taste of the real Ajax filosofie, let him develope himself in Amsterdam for couple years and then after a good periode of Ten Hag at United I know 100% that Rooney would be ready to take the seat after Ten Hag.
    What do you say about that?

      Nothng against Rangnick, but the situation is different with an interim manager that the players know is not going to be their manager in a few months. • @Stretfordendleftside
      @Stretfordendleftside 2 года назад +1

      We have a ragtag, motley bunch of players accumulated by 5 different managers each aiming towards different styles of play and all failing to succeed. Ralf Rangnick bought not a one of those players. Expecting him (or anyone) to come in on a short-term, 6-month basis, gel them all together and start getting a proper tune out of them is asking too much. We need a man given the authority and with the ability to clear the decks and build a TEAM constructed and able to perform to a clear plan. That man needs time to put the right pieces in place, to instill clear purpose, discipline and fitness and then to teach, develop and properly implement that plan. Nothing is a quick fix. SAF, Klopp and even Pep would all attest to that I'm sure.
