the ML55 AMG is the first AMG version in a SUV from Mercedes
W163 ML is produced from 1997-2005
the ML55 is the top range of the ML class and hase the same and as the e55,s55 and cl55 only the ML55 delivered a little less HP and less torque,
it produced 347hp that is is 8hp less then the e55 and 510nm that is 20nm less the the e55 . but it produces between 2800rpm and 4500 above 500nm what is the same as the other models
0-100 times is in between 6-6,5sec according factory spec's
what is pretty fast for a car that is 2093kg heavy
it has 4WD and is on standard 285-18" wheels
it is really comfortable and handles really good but is giving a very space feeling
this car is accept with a leder electrical interior, AC heated seats, cruise control, and more.
it produces a really nice sound in this stock form but i'm sure with a good exhaust it really gives a great rumble

I just bought one of these rhd here in Australia for the price of a 10 year old corolla.....full service history 290km on the clock....what a fantastic car.....ive just put an exhaust on it and it sounds amazing....im in love....1st mercedes after years of v8 Ford's and holdens.....though I still own 1 of each

actually a tire does fit underneath as a spare, however the ml55 has it inside. the funny thing is the case for the spare doesn't fit a normal tire so they give you a bag, and the spare doesn't fit in the case unless its flat so they give you a little air compressor.

Neighbor has a swapped M113K ML55 AMG shit is bonkers lol. I could be wrong but i believe he has the entire Weistec stage 3 package with the bigger S/C and i know.for sure he has an ice tank in the back. Its crazy looking. I could be wromg about thr bigger system though. All i know is that the s/c whine is wayyyyy louder than my Unlces Gen 2 CTS V and those are.loud from factory

The W163 is an old-school off-road tool, and is far better off-road, it has a separate chassis/ "body on frame" design which makes it inherently stronger and more durable, its also a better tow car, the diesel engine version is a superb tow vehicle and will pull anything you hook up to it without breaking into a sweat, the interior is more luxurious than the w164 which has a lot of cheap hard plastic everywhere, there is also an option of a third row of seats making it a seven seater this was not an option with the w164, the original ML was/is the car other Mercedes owners loved to hate, and in my opinion is hugely underrated , the later versions had the bugs ironed out, that is usual for any original design which the w163 was. For me the w164 was a diluted version of the original, I suspect that was because Mercedes designers responded to criticisms that the w163 was too heavy and wasn't a "drivers car",that was missing the point as it was never intended to be.If you want a huge spec, luxury, bullet proof, 4x4 with an awesome engine for less than $5k you wont get better than a w163 ML.

I own an ML430 which I maintain for the most part and i'm about to graduate to a cls63 soon.
It was decent at best, and definitely not what you would expect from Mercedes. I've torn the car apart for maintenance purposes. As someone who has taken auto mechanic classes and worked on older generation Mercedes, you can see where they took shortcuts... Poorly put together sound deadening (not much even) and plastic on trims that you touch the most. So they break relatively easily... Don't even get me started on the cup holders lmao. Point is interior appointment is terrible.
The biggest thing it has going for it is the aggressive stance on the 18in. AMG or 17in wheels. The bigger/ wider wheels actually complimented the truck's alignment better. Less sidewall and wider footprint. The V8s sound amazing. The car is pretty easy to work on and the gas powertrains are generally bulletproof.

Waarom heeft deze auto de handgrepen gespoten in de kleur van de lak? Hoort dat bij de laatste facelift van dit model of heb jij deze handgrepen er zelf opgezet? Alle handgrepen van de W163 die ik zie zijn namelijk zwart..

I have a 2005 ml 350 and I want to know how much gasoline it consumes compared to the power of a 55 8 ml ml. to see if that type of engine is efficient.

i can no really tell you the numbers but my experience. with heavier cars and awd. is that with normall driving a v6 will use the same amount of fuel as a v8, when your going to use the engine capacity for heavy tailer pulling or just a a faster driving experience or jsut using the amg engine full power capacity it will use much more fuel then a v6 but in normall conditions it will use the around the same number
Mercedes says the ml55 used ~19l/100km in the city and ~11l/100km in the countryside, so about ~14l/100km combined
From my experience not mor then 20 l/100 km any way , in the highway about 16.

At 11:47 you can hear whistling sound coming from somewhere, probably from the windows. Begin to whistle at 120kmh speed. Listen carefully, you can spot that sound mate.

@@delwinmacauley5215 probably realized by now but unscrew the one screw in the middle using the tool for tire screws its same size then just bring it down and towards yourself

And oh wow that shit sounds terrible inside with all the rattles. I figured the facelift versions would be better. I have a 99 and it's rattle city in there. All the plastic shit sucks. It's like newb designers built the pre-facelift models. It's also missing so many typical MB luxuries and design items that were all over 1990' W124s and 190e's even.
