    Hey Bro, just a tip I've picked up from many professional detailers, it's better to start off the whole wash with an initial foam layer with a soap that has greater PH level in it, for example KochChemie Active Foam, or Super Foam if it's really, really dirty. So layer the vehicle with foam before you do any rinse or before hitting the vehicle with the pressure washer at all. Let the foam dwell on the vehicle for a good 3-5 minutes, depending on the soap you're using, then rinse it off. Then you can either layer the vehicle in another blanket of foam again and go in with a contact wash, or just go in for a contact wash right after washing the initial foam layer off the vehicle.
    Just a tip. I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong nor doing a bad job, but I've learned that if you go to spray the vehicle with the pressure washer first hand before anything, you're driving the dirt and contaminants into the paint at such high pressure, possibly damaging your clear coat or paint in general. So using a soap with a good PH level in it, like I mentioned KochChemie Active Foam which has a 9.5 PH Level, can really help to break down and soften any dirt, grime, contaminants on the vehicle, making it much easier to fall off with the pressure washed rinse, and decreasing the possibility of damaging your paint or clear coat.

      Yes all of this I know. I work for Koch-Chemie. However, this is my personal vehicle and coated. I didn’t want to use a pre cleaner for this wash. Customers cars get a pre wash but mine usually doesn’t lol.

    is Af also good for regular pre-washes or just used for vehicles that have a lot of grime / dirt / road deposits on them? e.g., off road vehicles, highway vehicles. I'm deciding between GSF ph 7.5, Af ph 9.5, or Adam's. ty.

    • @MtnTownDetail
      @MtnTownDetail  2 года назад +1

      Super Foam is definitely the best but at a PH of 12 it will strip waxes and some sealants.

    does anyone know if Af is safe on ceramic or graphene coatings?

    • @bashintosh
      @bashintosh Год назад +2

      Active Foam has a PH of 9.5 which a top tier ceramic coating can withstand no problem. However i wouldn’t wash with it every-time more like a use once after 2 regular maintenance washes with a PH neutral soap. No need to expose the coating to a higher than needed PH if your car isn’t too dirty. I think Active foam will eat up most spray on products like sealants with just a few washes so be cautious.

      I was thinking it would probably work as a decon wash for ceramic as well. Thoughts?

    Love your truck and set up. I have been wanting to buy this shampoo, have heard it not only works great at that PH level, but smells great. Any thoughts about Active Foam compared to Gtechniq W4 Citrus Foam? I know they are not at the same PH level, but heard that Gtechniq soap has a lot of power to disolve grime, bugs, etc. with the citrus power at that PH neutral not degrading coatings. Would like to know what you think. Thanks!
