Best performance of this I've heard. Your choice of footwear has made the stomping a lot harder but also more entertaining. I would wear leather heels and keep my toes planted, otherwise my leg would fall off. I love the humor of the section with unrelenting sixteenth notes in the right hand, contrasted with the other sections, which feature a lot of rests where only the foot is heard.
Somehow, in all my years of listening to Ragtime (and trad jazz), I have only heard this rag in one spot... a MIDI site. The footstomp sound they had for it was horrible and totally lame. Not so, here! Love it!
@@JosemariaCarrascoMolina The Entertainer and Maple Leaf Rag! Unfortunately, due to my job and because I no longer have a piano it is difficult for me to play and practice 😔 But if I have the opportunity in the future I will consider the request 😄
@@Erios92 Wow thats sad 😓 I'm sorry about that. I also know the Maple Leaf Rag! even tho I started playing piano 6 months ago. Hehe. Do you ever forget the songs if you don't play them in a long time? I'm afraid I'll forget how to play Maple Leaf rag 😨😓
I have but one very specific gripe, and one that joplin would most definitely share- joplin wrote for the stamps to be done while keeping your toes on the ground, and stamping the heel of your foot alone. But otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed this performance and am now subscribed. Good work!
The original published score actually has the tempo marking "fast or slow". It is the only one of Mr Joplin's rags where the tempo marking actually allows for FAST playing, and musically the piece seems designed for this. The closest other one of his in terms of tempo marking is "Scott Joplin's New Rag" from 1912 which has the marking "Allegro moderato" (or moderately fast). Most of the rest of his scores have something to the effect of "tempo di marcia" (march tempo), "slow march tempo", and occasionally "very slow march tempo".
Not since the recordings of Joshua Rifkin have I heard such a good rendition. Well done!
Way too fast.
I didn't know this piece! Thanks!
Please do more piano vids! Best version of stoptime on the internet right now imo
Thank you so much, i really appreciate your comment!!
Either this or the Joshua Rifkin one
Excellent!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Everything is perfect, except the 86th and the 113th stamp of the heel on the floor were a bit soft :)
girl
Excellent performance!
Rivalling Rifkin, that's saying something. good technique
That is one smooth sounding piano!
This is my favorite recording of the piece by far. Bravo!
Thank you very much!😄

The footwear choice was made to match the color of the suspenders 😂

Besides your excellent performance I really like the piano; nice bass. Is it a Kawai?

Bravissimo!

@@andrewbarrett1537 I will trust you on this. What the composer says is right.
No it ain't.... perfect tempo for this one. Save the Chopinesque rubato for "Gladiolus"
