Another interesting report Andrea and a great way to be informed. I liked the BSA's and have a soft spot for the Gold Star.👍

The new BSA looks good if you're into Retro. Haven't seen one in Germany yet. Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg

It's cheap and cheerful. Not as polished as the Triumphs or Kawasakis, but definitely a reasonable competitor to the RE 650 Twins. I quite like mine even though it's simple.

love classic bikes....I test rode one of these about 6 months ago....BORING AS HELL.
I do own a 50year old BSA and was really hoping the Gold Star would be a roaring success.....And the BSA Brand Name would be flying high again.
Sorry guys for being negative.....from a 70 year old UK biker.

I guess it depends what you’re after. I’ve not ridden a 50 year old BSA so can’t compare with that. Perhaps the closest was a 30 year old carb’d bullet 500 in India. Compared to that, the new BSA is a rocket, but then I guess most bikes would be. For me, I’d ridden the RE 650 Interceptor and of the two, preferred the new BSA. I found the single to be better suited to the bike. As for boredom, I haven’t really found that, but then I only ride it on Peak District roads with a 50mph limit, which is well within its performance limitations. Which 50 year old BSA do you have?

Good video as always Andre.. is it just me or would these be nicer without the stripe? I don’t know ow of any classic BSA’s that had a stripe.. that black one would look classier without it and so would the red one.. just my opinion. I think I’d be tempted by the legacy or highland green versions more because they don’t have the stripe!

Good point, I guess it's whatever floats your boat. I quite like the stripe, but then I also don't have any real affinity with the classic BSA's so perhaps without that I take it as it is without the comparison.

I like the look of the Scrambler... but it isn't there. Nick

Yup. Not much has changed in a year unfortunately.

Have any custom builders gone to town on of these that you know of? Seems like a good bike for someone who has the skills.

There's a couple I found from a RUclips search but they seem to be mostly parts based. I expect they will come along in time. It took a while for the RE customs to happen and that was with RE championing it. Not sure BSA are there yet.

Thanks Andre👌 It just seems to me RE are doing more than BSA at the moment. Driven from rather than relying on history.

Yup. They are. And they still seem to be on track with their '4 models a year' approach. That said, RE had a long period of turning out the same bikes, so they've had a long runway to get to where they are now. BSA started recently, and tried to scale up during all the covid global supply chain problems which meant they nearly failed from the off. Hopefully they will sort themselves out and we'll see some new things from them in the future.

Parts bin special from mahindra. CRAP!

Do you have one? The engine is a modified BMW Rotax, brakes are Brembo, stock tyres are Pirelli. Are the rest from a Mahindra parts bin? If so, do you know from which bike?
