That "Ice Cream Man" description gave me flashbacks to that Justice League 2-parter (Legends). I am intrigued. Also, thanks for recommending "Black Hammer." I got and read the first volume over the holidays and loved it.
2018 THE YEAR THE DARKEST DECADE IN SPIDER-MAN HISTORY ENDED! 2018 THE YEAR SPIDER-MAN REALLY CAME BACK!! 2018 THE YEAR MY HERO BECAME MY HERO AGAIN!! And... all it cost us was both his creators. RIP Steve and Stan, you will be missed. But, god I'm just so happy this year happened. Buuuut considering how Marvel has treated Spidey the last decade I'm also terrified that in 2019 the other shoe will drop and we'll be right back to "Peter Parker is a perpetual fuck-up loser who can never do anything right lawl."
I completely get your reasoning for thanos. I've always liked thanos so it was great to get two huge stories showing his awesome villainy in the same year. Great video by the way
Wait, no J Jonah Jameson ? I'm kinda sad here. I mean, he finally learned who Spider-Man is and instead of revealing to the whole world who Spider-Man is, he related to him and decided to protect and help him. That moment when he did not want to abandon Peter when Morlun almost killed Peter because he did not want someone he cared about to die again was really powerful
Can't wait for your Best Comics 2018. Last year's put me onto a lot of good ones: Paper Girls, Descender, Mech Cadet Yu, Doctor Aphra ... May I recommend Lion Forge's SUPERB?
Thanos wins and cosmic ghost rider were two of my favorite comics last year. Thanks for introducing us to donny cates. Hadn't heard of him before you started talking about him
It is a tradition that I look forward to, as it is a place where I can learn about comics I might not have before, and discover comics I didn't know I would love! Case in point, Fu-Jitsu from last year.
The comment about Ben Grimms wedding was... something I felt deserved to be said. I stopped reading comics for almost half a year after the one two punch of X-men and Batman earlier this year.
Great list. Mine would have, maybe as #20, Nico Minoru. She fully recovered from that... Event, got an issue finally exploring her powers, finally confirmed as being bisexual after over a decade of hints, got in a relationship with Karolina Dean (again, after over,a decade of years and false starts), and jer appearances in the Hulu TV series Runaways was just superb.
@@sebastien-loikntsangou-kan5264 I know: he used to be a comics guy, that's hy i subbed, like many people, but instead of talking comics on scripted videos, 90 percent of his content now is improved movie reviews. I was joking about that. When was the last comic class?
Dude, spoilers! Like, “what do you expect...” watch a Chris Stuckman vid, there’s no need to give away plot points to explain that something’s good, or bad. There really isn’t.
I’m going to be honest...I kind of hate Punisher-Ghost Rider. It’s such a shallow concept, there’s nothing to him. I also hate Donny Cates as a writer, but...that’s...that’s not a great opinion to have.
@@kylehill6636 Boy, this is going to be controversial. I'm sorry in advance to Donny Cates fans, I don't mean to try and make you feel bad for liking something. This is just my opinion, so keep that in mind. The reason I kind of dislike his stuff is that it's got no real substance to me. His characters are all very flat, and the emotions presented in his comics are only ones of manly angst. There's no true depth, no pain the characters experience. Most of the time they're just spouting profanity-laced catchphrases while showing off how awesome and badass they are, like they're part of a lesser Garth Ennis comic. Again, this is just my opinion. I can actually understand why people like him, but he just doesn't work for me. For the record, I have liked a few things from him in the past - the first arc of Redneck was mostly good, and I enjoyed the first three or four issues of his Doctor Strange run.
Great list! But I hated Thanos in Infinity War. He's an idiot who killed half of the universe creatures (animals included) so that resources would be enough... 😡😡😡 those writers are IDIOTS!!!!!
26:58 "Anyone can be Spider-man"
*Insert Octavius
laughing in the background*
I liked Crush and Djinn from Teen Titans...it is rare to see new characters be that interesting...
I have a feeling Heroes in Crisis deaths will be undone - especially because there’s a time traveler involved
That "Ice Cream Man" description gave me flashbacks to that Justice League 2-parter (Legends). I am intrigued.

The colossus/Kitty Pryde wedding pissed me off so much

hopefully not. I have hope since Nick Spencer's run has been great.
I completely get your reasoning for thanos. I've always liked thanos so it was great to get two huge stories showing his awesome villainy in the same year. Great video by the way
Its only been 2 issues but I'm loving the current miles Morales run by ahmed

Mister Miracle really floated my boat this year. Such great humanising of a character

Yes yes yes this list is amazing got to watch it earlier on the patroen.
nice :)
Wait, Wally isn't done yet with Heroes in Crisis!!! Just BE PATIENT!!
I love this channel
I second this.
ok
Keep doing what you do!

X Men red gave Jean a lot of character
Djinn from the current Teen Titans run is my number one. Followed by Miles Morales.
Yes wally west the best flash
YES! Venom! My man is on there! YES! 🖤🖤🖤
The comment about Ben Grimms wedding was... something I felt deserved to be said. I stopped reading comics for almost half a year after the one two punch of X-men and Batman earlier this year.
me personally my favorite character of 2018 is Superboy Jonathan Samuel Kent and Damian Wayne robin ;)
yay comic class :)

Best Comic Character of 2018:
Tommy Pike from Royal City
My favorite this year is a tie: Catwoman and ....TOM STRONG!
They still need to undo Spider-Man’s stupid deal with Mephisto. If that ever happens.
Mephisto is being mentioned in several runs so I theorized something is coming involving mephisto
Great video but I can’t wait for the villain list. Number one in my opinion should be The Batman who laughs.
i love Honey badger she was tons of fun :)
Aquaman didn't make your list . I think he had an excellent run last year. Same for Deathstroke
It's hard to make a list this year as both marvel and DC lacked. Batgirl Starfire Wally West for DC are the standouts. Spiderman for marvel.
Surprised we didn't get Weapon H.
Me: It’s gonna be one sided for Marvel isn’t it
Me Later: Yep
Thorgi is talking about comics? What the fuck? Am i on the wrong channel?
He's been doing it for years

I wish the art in Immortal Hulk was better though

I feel like they DID ruin Cosmic Ghost Rider. That solo story was unbearable to me
Black Panther has led the Avengers before. This isn't a first.

Spider-man peter parker yay ;)
The best character is Stan Lee
Any chance for a Top 10 worst comics of 2018. While this year did have a lot of good books, It did have a few stinkers.
Personally I only watch top best videos to see if I missed something really good. I don’t care if I missed the bad, mediocre, or boring stuff
He probably won't make one. He said he doesn't like talking about comics he didn't enjoy.
Great list! But I hated Thanos in Infinity War. He's an idiot who killed half of the universe creatures (animals included) so that resources would be enough... 😡😡😡 those writers are IDIOTS!!!!!
That's worst than him pining over a girl who's completely friendzoned him?
