This is actually, Truth. It may help save OUR lives. There is a Nothing here that is manifesting as something and the nothing is your essence and deepest self.

Lol well that's more like 1/5 since passports expires if you don't renew them ;)
I remember watching the film for the first time and thought this was a cool little throwaway scene. Many years and many rewatches later, I've come to realise that this might be the most important scene in the movie. It's the scene in which - in no subtle terms - the seed of understanding is planted in Neo's head: that everything in the Matrix is simulated. Nothing is objectively real. Neo can see a spoon; he can hold a spoon; he can hear the noise a spoon makes if he taps it. But the spoon does not actually exist. All that exists is a flow of electrons and neurons to his real-world brain telling him that there is a spoon in front of him, whilst his real body is connected to a machine generating those signals. This seed grows into a bigger belief which he begins to apply to everything in the Matrix - we see this reinforced later just before he and Trinity go up the lift shaft to the rooftop and he says to himself "There is no spoon". Minutes later, he is moving faster than physics decrees possible and (almost!) dodging bullets. Still, there remains some deeply ingrained conditioning from his 30+ years of life as Thomas Anderson which holds him back; it's only when he is eventually shot by Smith in the hotel corridor and apparently dies that his mind finally lets go of all that he had accepted as true throughout his life, resets, and accepts his new reality. He is reborn and when we see the Matrix through his eyes this time, we see it for what is truly is: there are no walls, no doors, no ceilings - only lines upon lines of computer code. And there is no spoon.
Couldn’t of put that any better :-)
It's more about ourselves and life.
How about the spoon in zion? What are your thoughts about that
Great comment you have there. Yup and once Neo fully understands this he can pretty much bend The Matrix at will as The One.

What about the physics of the sentenals flying and human ships. Both can hover. No aeroplanes in any of the movies. Only helicopters. Morpheus was mentioned to be seen at Heathrow Airport. The only thing with wings are the birds, and the planes that blackened the sky...

The boy was trying to iterate to Neo that by maintaining awareness of the fact that You're in the Matrix and that all physical things that "exist" within said Matrix don't actually "exist", the ability to "bend" the rules becomes apparent and achievable (Morpheus also tried explaining this at some point)
I think it's more an allegory to the rules everyone makes to himself and their impact in the society.
No universal rules tells you that you can't be violent, steal or kill, in nature its quite common, but still, even in extreme survival need, there is something in a lot of minds that prevents us from doing it...
Fact is, humans invented these rules to have a fair and civilized society and are taught from early ages but if someone want to bend or just violate these laws, nothing can stop him except another one that also bend the rules.
@@toniodu371200 All things you listed are very much possible, just yield a bad result in the long run, hence the rules we placed. Bending a physical object with your mind however, is not possible, hence the boys explanation.
@@toniodu371200 you literally making up deep meaning where there was none.
Also the only thing to prevents you from doing those things is the fact that these actions are considered to be bad in modern society. Cannibal tribes do not think that killing and eating humans is bad. So in the past killing was much more "normal" than today. Or in some more "modern" socieites of today, like half-wild people living in Daghestan where killing someone for insult, or killing a girl for having sex before wedding, are considered to be normal, It is all mater of society's values.
@@SwordWieldingDuck Well, to confound your argument even further we do have plenty of cases of people who commit terrible injustices that violate all our modern values of decency, but live their entire lifetimes without receiving justice. So, society's values also come with their own baggage and problems, and just like people in other parts of the world are born into the matrix of their cultural upbringing, so too are the people in this society born into and removed from the greater context of the implications of their own social contract.
Matrix World Rule:
If you believe it's real than that's your reality,
If you don't believe it's real than you can change the reality of matrix.
Ultimately there is nothing there

I found a correlation with this particular scene, and how Neo obtained the ability to bend himself exactly like the spoon when he was dodging all those bullets. He started using his mind to "bend" himself just like the spoon. Very powerful scene indeed which helped Neo evolve his abilities in the Matrix. Neo starts to realize he can bend the reality around him in the Matrix the way he wants to.
it's just a bunch of code. There is no spoon or bullets. It's not real life. It's a computer
Yes, but in relation to his experience, he bends the Matrix with his mind. He's not using code to do it.
my you use time well my friend
If you believe the Buddhist philosophy that this kid is teaching. You will see that there is no Matrix either. All is an illusion/Dream
04dram04 It’s not just Buddhist. It’s also Christian. Faith and the battleground of the mind work in a similar fashion. This world we live in is not just determined by our five senses. The spiritual world is also a major contributing factor. Free your mind by focusing on the spiritual, and conform your mind and body to fit that interpretation.
Moments like these made the 1st Matrix superb. The errie atmosphere, the mistery, the weird kid, deep philosophy...
Not really "deep" philosophy, c'mon now. Matrix is a good entry point that presents philosophy for the masses in a more digestible way, it doesn't make them "deep" by any means. The Plato's allegory of the cave for example, it's one of the most basic allegories that is, but many people experienced it first in the Matrix and they automatically assume that is the most incredible thing in existence
the answer is if you turn it you will bend instead lol
@@RRRRRRRRR33 it's platos cave all the way down buddy
@@runneypo it's turtles all the way down
@@Brotried97 There's no reason to be patronizing, trying to sugar coat philosophy? Entry points are a thing for every area of study, that doesn't make them "lesser" or "greater", it is what it is. Philosophy tends to challenge it's own methods, but in the end, you have to start from somewhere and there's nothing "wrong" about that

I seriously think The Matrix is the best acting Keanu Reeves has ever done. He literally spends the entire film as someone who is lost and clueless, but it never feels forced or awkward. Neo has to react to everything around him and still be a compelling character and Reeves pulls it off.
Keanu is a terrible terrible actor. The worst actor next to Nicholas Cage - everyone else in the movies and the matrix movies themselves carried the f outta Keanu. Love the Matrix though!
@@kelseyflynn6947cap
I think he’s better in Speed
@@kelseyflynn6947 That's blatently not true. If we're ranking actors on a tier list, he may not be S tier but that doesn't mean you're a bad or "terrible" actor. Not all actors are made for the same role. Different personalities will suit different roles better. We wouldn't have had the same Neo if Will Smith took the role. And nobody could replace Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus. Or Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. It doesn't matter how their acting is rated. They suit their characters best. And they can all act the part.
If we're talking actual TERRIBLE actors, we're looking at the worst movies known to man where characters just overact things for the dramatic effect. Like in Troll 2 (1990). "They're eating her... And then they're going to eat me!... OH MY GOOOOOOD!!!". lol It's the sort of actors who'll happily sign up for a movie named "Sharknado". lol A proper actor like Tom Hanks isn't going to be in some goofy movie like that.
Now all this talk of terrible acting and goofy movies has reminded me of current Disney. Once known for their great storytelling, a new movie from them was a bit of magic released into the world. But now they're the joke of the industry, pumping out slop purely because they have the money to keep doing so. They aren't trying to write something that matters anymore, so why bother looking for a true actor to take on a proper role. All their characters are easily recastable with any other young pretty face who's just there for young viewers to see themselves as. They're not hiring experienced talented actors to fit an important role, they're hiring actors purely based on their innate characteristics, not acting talent. They can grab any young activist out of college and give them a week of acting lessons to star in their movies. Those are your terrible actors these days.
He was the best in Constantine.
After watching the matrix many times, I can honestly say I think this is the deepest moment of the film.

To understand this scene you simply need to replace the word spoon with reality.
"Don't try to bend reality, that's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth. What truth? There is no reality. Then you will see that it's not reality that bends, it is only yourself."
And for all of you that seek happiness and meaning in life, this exact same theory applies to the "reality" we live in too. Truly learn to understand this and your life will change :)

Love this! Because reality today is something created from the things we've done long ago. “Instead only try to realize, YOU ARE THE SPOON”
For those wondering, much of this is (directly) pulled from 1979's book Gödel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Golden Braid.
The book is about mathematical truth vs uncertainty, and how that applies to A.I. and programming. Can you program consciousness? And dives into topics like whether or not a computer can make a truly orginal art or song, or is that just a inherent solution to the programmer's code running its course?
There is a dialogue in the book with two arbitrary characters (just used to further drive points home) discussing if a flag is moving, or is it the wind that's moving? It ends with one saying to the other "there is no flag"..... because the flag you think you see only exists in your mind.

This movie tries so hard to tell us the truth. The way to self-realization, to the way of our natural enlightened state of being.
The east has know this philosophy for so long. But the West needed this movie to put our foot in the door of truth.
It needs to cuz people are so thick skulled these days. Anything that doesn’t make immediate sense to someone is dismissed as false
Is it not possible that some people don't want to be enlightened? Or at least not confront that reality? You can't really experience "enlightenment" without first being asleep. There needs to be a contrast.

One of the most iconic scenes of all time! And one of my personal favorites.
This scene is highly slept on. This is really where Neo learned to do all the cool shit from
22 years ago when I first watched the Matrix, I was deeply intrigued by the movie and the question of what is reality. The Matrix is my first conscious initiation for the quest for truth. It resonated and provoked something deep inside my being. I remember seeing this scene and just felt that there was something deep in those lines, although at the time I wasn't mature enough to comprehend what the boy was talking about. 22 years later, as I re-encounter this scene tonight, I realized that what this boy was saying is not just some fictional lines, they could also serve as an accurate description of a deeper aspect of reality, not just the "reality" in the movie, but also the so-called "reality" of this phenomenal world. My question is, for someone to be able to write such a wonderful and profound script, they must have a very deep understanding of reality and spirituality, I am really curious about how the Wachowski sisters were inspired to write the the Matrix trilogy.
Yeah be quiet, go write a book instead
@@Dave-mf6tj Okay Dave.

I feel you brother this was the first movie I ever saw as a kid in theatre I might’ve been seven. Changed my life forever i used to sit in my room and try and Bend spoons and move color pencils with my mind. For some reason, I still feel like that ideas into far-fetched….
No, it's not necessary. Any line you can think of can be produced by chance, by simply creating a random assortments of words.
The short story "Library of Babel" by Borges explores this idea.
So, you can imagine, there are countless writers and movie producers who all do random things, and most of them never produce anything profound. Therefore, their work isn't recognized as such. However, when one of them randomly stumbles upon something profound, their work is propelled in popularity by the recognition and recommendation. So, you cannot determine, just from the result alone, whether the writers posses some secret knowledge, or whether they are simply lucky.
Beautiful scene. Some things in life are facts, objetive reality. Others are just perceptions, mostly things that define who we are. If you can change your perceptions, you can become anyone you want.

you can always go to the Buddha's teachings which is the same but more easy to understand. Buddhism is no religion its just science. what the scientists discovered in today's world like quantum physics, chaos theory etc were already taught by the Buddha 2500 years ago.
jaglinuxmint
There's one thing they didn't know. This universe isn't fully formed, yet.
We're still in the big bang.
Particle-wave duality, quantum entanglement, the Schrodinger's Cat paradox and the confusing mess of transactional possibilities between fundamental particles...
For example, EM can become photons can become quarks can become Gluons...
So EM = Gluons because of the transitive property (A=B and B=C so A=C)?
Gravity isn't supposed to interact with Higg's bosons, yet mass effects gravitational strength?
Every time the scientific community makes a new quantum discovery, it conflicts with a dozen other things we previously called 'facts'.
Why are all these fundamental forces so blurred together?
Because the fundamental forces never fully separated.
We're still in the big bang.
manictiger well ya i get it, we still do not know completely...are you an astro physicist? your knowledge is profound!

Everything is energy, and what the kid is telling Neo is that when a human mind really lives in the present, the entropy of the field accelerates, the "black body" generating an increase in gravitational force, radiation, heat, and most important: light. We are capable of many things if we gather information of all sorts and really live in the present

There is no sequels to this movie
The brain processes 400billon bits of information a second & we are aware of only 2000 of those that means reality is happening in the brain ,in those 30 billion neurons all the time & what we see the outer world is a dull reflection of the inner world ,& we all are the awareness who is experiencing it inside & we can mould the inner world by self realisations, positive thoughts ,hard work & see the world as we want . Love from India to all the souls who are on the journey .❤️
kid: do not try and bend the spoon, that's impossible.
(bends spoon)
me: well that was easy.
Change the way you look at things...and what you look at changes.
“There is no spoon.”
Tommy Wiseau: what do you mean?
I cannot tell you it's confidential
Oh hi, Morpheus
I wish it went like this:
"What truth?"
"There is no spoon"
"Whoa"
Excellent!!
Bill and Ted go to the Matrix
I did not understand that scene the first time I watched the movie (or the 2nd, or the 3rd). Being now a beginner meditator, I can now relate to it more. There is no spoon; only consciousness and raw perception. "Spoon" is a concept, the result of an interpretation of reality. Same applies to "hand", "movie", or "consciousness".
The world that we observe is a mirror that reflects to us the meaning that we assign to that which it objectively contains; and we act upon this unconsciously derived meaning. It is only ourselves that bend.
At my present level of awareness I can concede that sound doesn’t exists, there is no sound. But I’m still totally convinced that spoons actually exists.
There is no hand, until it curls into a fist and breaks your nose.
No there is no franchise. Thanks Resurrections!
Neo,
do not try to bend the government, that’s impossible.
Instead….only try to realize the truth;
There is no government….only corporations !!
That lady at the end must not be there either cause she wasn’t in the spoons reflection while it was bending, she just appeared at Neo’s shoulder.
Its weird but little Buddhist kid has one of the most memorable child actor performances for me, even if the role's really small. Just well done.
Mom: Kid where is all the spoons?
Kid: There is no spoons
Mom: i know, cuz they're gone!
Kid: There were never any spoons
Mom: I know cuz every time we get some, you run into the kitchen steals all the spoons, run back to your room, and bend all of them.... Can you pls stop doing that?
Kid: There's no spoon, There's no spoon,.. Ther!rzze no,.' Spoo... [Sutting down| reason: truth overload of spoons]
When movies were wider then wide screens
Nobody ever came close to doing this movie justice with the sequels. But then again, I don’t think it was meant to have sequels.
This movie is full of deep sayings and this is one of the most important. I never realized this until I watched it all agian (and again, and again). Bending the spoon is a visual metaphor for controlling the Matrix. It's much like bending reality to whatever shape/destiny you would like. Of course, no one watching the movie realizes this principle until the moment that Neo actually "bends" the Matrix world to his will, and in doing so, becomes something like a God. I hate to say this but, that little kid is right, after you see all of the movies and come back to this one scene, it's like him saying, "I told you so". >:P
dustymiller65 . neo did nothing to change the matrix it was always Smith that changed the matrix. Smith was the 1 not neo
Get over yourself. This is pretty obvious. Plus this philosophy is very common Buddhist view of reality. All is an illusion. All is one consciousness. One Dream.
actually they are both the one,the result of an equation trying to balance itself notice that only when smith and neo become one that the matrix is reset
Really? I thought it was self-explanatory and got it immediately.
Also keep in mind that in the beginning of the video we see five other spoons 🥄 on the floor ( from five precious Neos). Let your mind bend to that. 🤔
Kid: "There is no spoon"
Neo: UNLIMITED MAAAAANAAAAAAA!!!!!
in other words, do not ignore the dishes and the spoons in the sink today, and scrub the bathtub.
बुरा जो ढूंढन मै चला मुझसे बुरा ना कोइ....
Dont try to change the reality there is no reality..... there is only U who is watching and creating a perception about reality... change urself and reality will change completely😇
Master time management
There is no "world." Then you'll see that it is not the world that changes, it is only yourself.
Isnt that rather true? Each generation experience the peace/pain paradox and the wod does not change.
Clint side: "There is no spoon."
Server side: "There's a fucking spoon if I say there's one."
The Dev put it there, not the client. 😂 call it Dep Infection 🫣
One dislike is Mr. Smith
I am like: "There is no resurrections"...
Kid tells Neo how to do something. Neo does it. Kid is shocked it worked.
Pretty strange that a trilogy about machines has so much mysticism in it.
I just caught an Alakazam in Pokemon GO. There are 2 spoons
In my point of view, it's the Social Conditioning which is being related here. When we were Kids everybody around us told how beautiful this world is, how you should be treating people with Unconditional Love and Respect. But when we grow up its a flip and just the opposite. So Self Realisation plays very important role here. Love from India ❤️🙏🏼
"Do not try to erase Matrix resurrections, instead only try to realise the truth, there's no matrix resurrections, then you'll see matrix resurrections is not being erased, it you forgetting the movie as a whole"
🤣 loved this, man. I'm really trying to forget that ridiculous movie 🤦
