Prior to changing the blower motor it's a good idea to use a voltmeter to check to see if there is power going to the motor. You can measure the voltage right at the connector going to the motor. If there is power there it's the motor. But if there is no power there then the problem is elsewhere like possibly the heater control unit.

i have a blower motor that rattles and only comes on for 2 seconds then shuts off. any idea what it could be?
