I use the bullet points without the points. I have a 50% opaque box behind each line so the boxes let the audience know there are three or four repeats of a word or phrase. I generally stick to 3 on a single slide, if there are four repeats, I stick the first word or phrase on the previous slide (if there's room). If there's no room, I change the size of one of the lines by one point so that the online version doesn't take as much space (for some reason, the text size shrinks when not all the words are the same size when using NDI. I learned to use this to an advantage when I want to place an entire chorus or bridge in-house/online- I only need to reduce one line by a single point and all the words are smaller, taking up less room in the online version). Using the points makes it easier for the audience, I think. In the ten years of doing this I have never received a complaint. E.g. in the song This is Amazing Grace where 'worthy" is repeated in the bridge, there are three boxes where the word will appear- this also works online where I use NDI and a different computer. Plus the audience will learn the songs too so at the end of a song when a phrase is repeated until the pastor comes up, I take the background out, I usually replace it with a black background with white specks so the projectors don't "relax." I change the scene to the cameras as the pastor begins to speak.
We do not see, hear or get comments from our congregation that repeating slides in songs are confusing. We keep them repeated with zero effects or spaces added. The one thing I 100% agree with you is that all the advanced transitions are extremely distracting, they do not really add any benefits when doing Songs or Preaching Slides we find.
The way i have my stage display setup, it has the current slide in white letters on black screen and a slide count of x/y in the bottom corner (to show progression through the song) with a preview of the next slide in green. I also added tiny color bars across the top and bottom, indicating if it's the verse/chorus/bridge of the current/next slide. If it's a really confusing song, I'll add a 1,2,3... (shows only on stage) by making the letters transparent & no effects on the audience screen.
Dont think ever noticed this as an issue for raise a hallelujah got 8 slides with "sing a little louder" on as dont like having repeated lines on same slide, having the 8 slides makes it easier counting for when it changes
What we do is put a lable, such a "x3" with a black background (looks like: " x3") and leave it up. I put the "x3" note on the stage display in green so the band can see that it is repeated. I haven't noticed an issue with the congegration not catching on as we are pretty good w/ leading the band w/ lyrics. Am I missing something with this method? I am thinking about the fade in/out you did and will talk w/ my worship leader to see if we are having an issue w/ the congegration following.
Are those 3 slides different in the master version of the song. Or are you dropping three chorus into a "version / instance" of the song. If the latter, wouldn't adding a space add it to all of them since it would be just three times that slide was put into the particular version?
@@DaleRosema no. Anything in a single group will always be there when that group is added. Now, if I’d added that slide as a single repeat and had to add that group three times, it wouldn’t work the same.
Here comes the viewing round

Maybe I should ask around because maybe it's something that only I notice, but I do notice it.

Got more confused other week when worship leader called and went to chorus but band stayed on building bridge😂
