Xfm's Christmas presents to the guys. Karl not buying for Suzanne. The birds and the bees. 'Baby wot giv birf to a baby'. Rockbusters revisited. Lord of the Rings is shit. Nerdlingers. The English language. Karl in Films this week is 'Scrooge'. Cheeky Freak of the Year: the 7 year old who is 38. Monkey News this week is about an aeroplane passenger complaining that they have no nuts.
I love Steve. He's got an incredibly ability when telling an anecdote or analyzing a situation. He really is the genius behind it all, but is sadly overshadowed by Ricky, and well Karl.

Steve really is the genius behind all the XFM shows.
The English language is defined by words in common use and they get into a dictionary by their word count in publications (common usage) and that means that to this date there are at least 1,022,000 words, growing at a phenomenal rate. Many more than any other language. It's one of the reasons to be proud of the language. For comparison, Russian (the language of Tolstoy and Dostoevsky) language only has about 200 thousand words!

If you understood anything about these people you'd know that it's a part that Ricky plays up to partly to mess with Karl and partly because in truth Gervais is quite a modest person and probably feels more comfortable being seen as arrogant as opposed to being praised all the time.
If Gervais was an arrogant man wanting to come across as humble He's intelligent enough that your stupid ass would be sitting there going "Aww.. What a great guy Ricky is! He's so genuine!"
MRC is a massive movie and television studio who is distributed by Warner Bros and Universal. They probably thought they were claiming rights to The Ricky Gervais Show, which they rightfully own, but I don't believe they have rights to XFM broadcasts, although it wouldn't surprise me if they did.
Ok mate, thanks for uploading them to begin with. Lets just hope it is a while before the next clips are removed.

No, you are not correct, he does not care that people don't like him, he does all the things he does to amuse himself, if other people like him it's a bonus :)
The company owns the rights. If someone owns a copyright on something, you can't use it unless you pay them with the exception of fair use which does not include posting the show in its entirety on youtube without any addition of commentary, parody, analysis or review.
Alright cheers mate, that clears it up a little. Still, very annoying that they are that concerned about something that was 9 or so years ago.

It always frustrated me how harsh they were to him when he was giving the rockbusters clues or the monkey news info, then they'd be confused when he'd basically get fed up and say "forget it then".
Wikipedia vs MS Encarta. This is a great case study as to the value and efficacy of altruistic motivation vs profit based. That being said, I realize this does not apply across the board. But profit is not the only effective motivator for content creation. I will say specifically here I would buy these radio shows if I could, until then I have no problem watching with ad-block on!

The thing to keep in mind is that private youtubers don't get any money from your views if you leave adblock on. I turn adblock off on RUclips for that reason.
In that sense, Google has permitted plenty of people to make a small (sometimes excellent) income from running RUclips channels.

I might have an answer for it: On their site, it seems that MRC are affiliated with the ricky gevais show (the anime on HBO) So my guess is that HBO had to buy the copyright from XFM (obviously) in order to make the cartoons. That would explain why MRC is making the copyright claim and not XFM. I might be wrong but I think it makes sense

In swedish it is not the birds and the bees it is "blommor och bin" and it means flowers and bees. It does make more seanse because pollen and stuff.

That's right. Because Ricky Gervais does receive percentage of the ads we are forced to watch, right? You argument makes holds no water, mate. I'm in entertainment industry and depend on people not getting work for free, but this isn't an example of it. Ads have gotten way too aggressive on 'tube.

Adverts are put on by the uploader. It's a way for a user to monetize their videos.
You're not aware that there are hundreds of video hosting sites without the drawbacks of RUclips. Video hosting is not unique to RUclips any more than search engines are unique to Google.

Some people don't have the money & wouldn't have had the money anyway. Would you deny a poor person or child the richness of our culture which is not only unlimited but can cheaply be reproduced? Deny a mind development? Why? Historically, people with your opinion were always around yet none stood the test of time when faced with progress. The clergy had the same type of reaction to the printing press for example - and the right to the information itself was dolled out to only the privileged.
