The USA military have full access to Greenland, they do not need pre-approval to expanded and mining?, just seek license in Greenland like anyone else. It's not a colony or a realestate you can buy!. But Ambassador Douglas E. Lute is Chair does not know why mining is in large scale in Greenland, why have all mining companies given up after a few years? , why is no one talking about the mining history in Greenland?, most just don't know it. Can I please come to word and get it straighten out? Ambassador Douglas E. Lute is given a very serious wrong impression of Greenland.

Isn’t the point that Trump needs to take very public policy positions to keep his support base engaged ?. Demanding control of Greenland and the Panama Canal is a very public affirmation of “America First”. I’m sure quiet diplomacy with Denmark could accomplish what the US really needs, but that wouldn’t be perceived the same way by the public.

Yes the way Trump brings up issues has to do with political gimmickry

0:44 It would be better to describe status of Greenland as "autonomous" rather than "sovereign". Their local parliament has authority over most matters, but there are a few things associated with the being of a sovereign state, that the kingdom of Denmark rules over - constitution, defence, foreign policy, currency, citizenship, supreme court...

The sensible route. How the USA got Hawaii. Loads of money and stealth. Trump has blown it by shouting about it.

I'm four minutes in and have yet to see a map displayed. As handsome as these two talking heads are, some graphics would be appreciated.

Trump’s statements sure brought to the conversation how important Greenland and the Panama Canal is to national security. Go Trump. But I’m against buying it or making it a territory of the United States. Maybe long term leases for ports and access. Anyone who has read Trump’s book The Art of the Deal knows what he is doing.

Why is this insanity being even discussed by seemingly smart people? Friendly countries enter into agreements and alliances, not threaten each other with tarrifs, takeover, or war. That's what dictators do. Omg.

Maybe Canada should team up with Pacific alliance nations like Japan, Australia, South Korea, and Taiwan to take Hawaii !
It would be a great location and strategic location.

There is an expression: If one is enough, and two is too many, then three would be just right. Trump's ineptitude and lack of grace ensure that the best interests of all involved will be put at risk, so that the bully can have his way. Always a Zero-Sum Game!

Get the feeling the press wants this to be a negative story against Trump using hyperbole and innuendo, regardless of actual facts?
