    Now you need to see if there is a way to ballast the saw so it is weight neutral on the cut. Something to think about.

    A length gauge from the opposite side with a chain hanging down would work for you.

    Adding a foot pedal mechanism to the wood holder would free up your hand but lookin good with all the improvements.

    If you had 2 or 3 rollers on the conveyor side of your roller rack it would help support the cutoff end and you would be fighting it less. Would still be close enough to push off onto the conveyor but help stabilize the log for cutting.

      @FirewoodontheHill  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes you are right. I could slide the saw down further to make that happen. Maybe I’ll try it and see how I like it.

    Great video Man what if you used all thread and bolted it to the bar or chainsaw somehow. I like that processing table you’ve made

    • @FirewoodontheHill
      @FirewoodontheHill  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you man and I believe with it being on the saw it just gets in the way. If I bolted it on the saw I still think I would break it off.

    If it works out when you have to move it, if possible, you could set it up so the conveyor drops into totes by splitter. In the end, whatever works best for you is the right setup. Keep up the hard work.

    • @FirewoodontheHill
      @FirewoodontheHill  11 месяцев назад

      Yes that’s a good idea except I need the conveyor part of it for something else!

    Everything looks good. You'll leave sometimes. I see you with your holding the leaver for the log holder. And I'm just pictured another couch or leave to be down to the bottom and hook to the inside end of the log holder. That you would step on the road with your a fourth and that would hold down the block. Give it you both hands free water witch to run the song just a idea

    Instead of cut onto the conveyor cut onto the splitter and split the wood in a two part more effective and timely way insted of moving wood around you could use a peddle to work the splitter in out with the split wood falling onto the conveyor on the end into a tout so you can move with the tractor save on handling by hand nice set up 😊

    • @FirewoodontheHill
      @FirewoodontheHill  11 месяцев назад

      I wish I could make that happen but that would need a lot of fabrication and for everything to work perfectly lol. It’s not impossible but probably too expensive to build for what it does. I like the idea though.

  • @drewthorne1019
    @drewthorne1019 11 месяцев назад +1

    you could turn the table towards the splitter and skip the conveyor all together

    By the time you get set up and deal with those little logs you could free hand this stuff 3 times faster than trying to use that processor. I am 71 and I think I could have had it cut up before you got it to the table.

    • @FirewoodontheHill
      @FirewoodontheHill  11 месяцев назад +1

      You might be able to cut it up faster but if you include clean up and getting the wood to the splitter I doubt it. Who knows though maybe I can do a video showing the difference in real time.

    Hello. I haven’t watched all your videos but from watching this one I think if your bolt to hold your chainsaw bar was longer you could attach your flag for marking the length right to that bolt one would think you can find all the bits and pieces at your local hardware store no welding some all thread with a couple normal nuts and I believe some longer ones not sure what they would be called and it would act as a double nut for safety so the nut wouldn’t back off it would be a pain every time to take off but maybe just leave bar on table and remove power head. Sorry for being long winded. Best of luck looking forward to see what you do next.

    • @teddybear4020

      this a wonderful idea same bolt as holden your saw . then it will not fall off . my friend . and if needed u can make adjustment an see what size u need too
      weather it is 12 or 16 inch long cutts

    • @FirewoodontheHill
      @FirewoodontheHill  11 месяцев назад

      Yes those are good ideas but having it on the bar does get in the way whether it’s bolted on or not. I feel if it was bolted on it will break the measuring stick in half….

  • @JeffGeorgalas

    The chain is so loose that it's damn near falling off of the bar.
