- Part Two of Level Four of the game 'Toy Story 2 Action Game: Buzz Lightyear To The Rescue' for PC.
In this part of the level we fight the almighty Jackhammer boss using the newly-unlocked disc launcher. I also get 50 coins for Hamm, and return the Construction Tykes to their boss. Игры
I love how Buzz's helmet breathing perfectly captures your frustration of falling down the tower
My heart sinks watching this in the parts when Buzz falls like I'm actually falling. "WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA"
Yeah! Buzz's sound was very funny Ha ha ha!
That jackhammer scared me when I was young! Brilliant game, one of the best I've ever played because I got so many hours of fun from it!
To everyone wondering why was this game so fun, it's simple : The same thing that made Super Mario 64 so fun. You have to catch the tokens (stars) by doing different things in each level, and you can come back later to a level you didn't finish at 100% to have full completion. It's just an awesome way to make a platformer.
Agreed wholeheartedly. That's the perfect way to make a platforming game. That's the type of advice video game programmer and designer Chris Senn has to make a brilliant platforming game. This is what he has said about it:
“I would say the same thing to anyone - make a game that’s about quality, not quantity. Some people seem to think that a game has to have more things and characters and moves and levels and so on. I don’t agree. I think players want to feel immersed in a world that is consistent, with rules they can learn and understand, with risks and rewards that make them feel good; that make them feel like they are learning and getting better at something."
I agree wholeheartedly with him. This platforming game and Super Mario platforming games perfectly do all that and are perfect examples of that. It's the way to make a platforming game.
To add to that, in my opinion, the scariest boss in this game was the Jackhammer boss. He scared me as a kid because of how he's massive, how he has a big angry face, how he's shaking, how he laughs deeply when he hits you and how he's slowly just following you. As for the hardest boss in the game, I'd say that was the Blacksmith boss. I hated that Blacksmith boss so much because it's hard to avoid his hammer waves and plus they do more
damage to you than the amount of damage the Prospector boss' does. I also hated how you have to spin to hit him.
I had the PS1 version of this game when I was a kid and in my opinion, it's one of THE ABSOLUTE BEST GAMES I'VE EVER PLAYED IN MY LIFE. It followed the story of the film very well, the graphics are beautiful, vibrant and colourful, the soundtrack is the best soundtrack I've ever heard in a video game before, there's a huge variety of enemies, the supporting characters have a role to play and it was so much fun just collecting all of those Pizza Planet Tokens. Me and my younger brother completed this game so many times and for a movie-based game based on one of the best animated feature-length movies ever made, it's BRILLIANT. It brings back a lot of memories and makes me feel so nostalgic. I could still play this game again. It's such a shame I don't have the game in my house anymore. I've still got the manual though.
i wish more games like this were made
Vtgj????
3:05-3:13 Worst possible luck! ;)
Well, he landed on a coin...
1:10 I used to love doing that
The people watching this video are REAL gamers!
I'm not ashamed to say I still play this on my family's n64 from time to time.
+ObliviousBurrito Not ashamed indeed, i often play this game (PC version) when I got some free time.
same but I'm stuck and cannot find one play through walk though what ever of the complete game. You have to return to a few levels once you have the rite power ups from Mr. Potato head. I'm trying to do this but I'm stuck. And there is 0 reference for it in any of this videos :(
Once I was so scared of the boss I jumped off the building xD
LOL SAME
i love how ham goes, "here ya go buzzy boy"
I was too scared to fight the Jackhammer. I mean come on, he's a giant jackhammer with a scary face lol.
I thought I was the only one who was scared that Jackhammer, because of that scary face
EnergyXDragon I know right? He's freaking terrifying! Along with Spider Gunro... he's a giant ass spider with rockets.
+Incredibeast I used to be scared of it (don't get me wrong it's still weird) though my father said "He's not a boss, he's just a mini-boss! He thinks he is in charge but he's delusional"
So my 6-7 year old self went "I got this" and finished him off. Still the best boss fight I experienced.
Oh no! Look how scary the Jackhammer is as it SLOWLY waddles in your general direction!
Super Skeletron Bros. Bro I was 6
I used to despise that level.
Silly McWilly I was scared to find the jackhammer at the top xD
Elevator Hop was worse
That fucking jackhammer gave 5 year old me nightmares
SAAAAAAAME god damn he scared the crap out of me
EXACTLY
I remember very little about this game but it is coming back to me, this level was INSANELY hard with all of the climbing and stuff.
That Jackhammer... one of the most intimidating and downright scary things from my past...I still can't fight it without my knees turning to jelly...
Still one of my favourite video games 👍👍
This building violates so many safety codes.
-Hot, flying nails everywhere.
-Evil robotic toys.
-Paint mixers that look like soda machines.
-Evil jackhammers.
-Open wet cement.
whoaaaaaaa whoaaaaaaa hahahahaha xD
That brings back memories. I always thought the Jackhammer looked goofy, funny, and amazingly creepy at the same time. Not as creepy as the Toy Barn boss.
they such a epic boss battle music to this
From memory of the past, if you get hit by the jackhammer instead of the hammer, he makes a sinister laugh, i dont know if this works on all versions, it worked on the ps1, anyway definatly a scary child hood moment :L
God, I remember how much of a bitch it was getting to the top of that building. Then there was that waiting for you at the top. Scared the crap out me, not the boss itself but scared of the fact it might have knocked me off and I'd have to climb back up. Thank god for that elevator. -_-
4:56 - 7:40 If you can see the background clearly, you can see the World Trade Center in nighttime, but WHY IS THERE MORE TWIN TOWERS
In the days before my first N64 memory card, this was about as far as I'd get whenever I played Blockbuster rentals of this game. I guess the first three levels just kept me entertained over and over again even without the ability to save, but this was always the point I got worn out.
I know in the PS1 version if you try to fight the Jackhammer without the disc launcher the controller will start to vibrate in a weird pattern
whoa whoa whoa whoa!
now I have to rewatch the video because I spent my time laughing at these funny ass comments
You are really good I’m going to watch u more often from now on
Brings back memories. Cool background music
I always thought this game was so lethal, you could die any time and lose everything. Plus it was really scary...
The fact that this level requires two episodes based on the construction tower alone should speak for itself
7:44 that jump is so satisfying
Jackhammer scared the LIVING SHIT out of me as a kid. I had this game when it came out. but luckily it was not to the point where I pissed myself. Thank goodness I never peed my pants. :P
8:07 Very close miss with the laser.
Nice level, this boss fight is awesome.
MOOOOOOOM, that evil drill is throwing things at me.
OMG! this game was sooooo good!!!!!!
28 people couldn't make it to the top of the construction building.
brought back millions of memories
When I was little asked my mom if we could buy Mr.Potato Head super glue so I wouldn't have to keep finding all of his pieces xD
The ending of the jack hammer boss was epic!!!!
Wait a minute.. that is the World Trade Center in the background of the level?, You can see two towers and the buildings of financial Center.
when i was smaller i was scared of the jackhammer so i got my dad to do it for me
I played this on the PS1 maybe when I was 13 or 14 and I remember getting a little uneasy when it came to Mr. Jackhammer but I liked it. I liked to taunt the Jackhammer by staying in a placr he can't reach me. I do this with a lot of intimidating bosses or enemy characters. Especially the ones who are so close they try to hit you. It's hilarious. I can imagine that this guy scaring the bejabbers out of little kids who played this. He is scary. I'm like "whoa, I'm a teenager but this thing makes me so uneasy like the devil since he's red and when he gets near you, the jackhammer noise gets louder, (different sound than in this version) the ground and your controller shakes and if he touches you, he lets out a sinister unsettling "Wahahaha!" laugh. Intimidating."
Flashbacks of my childhood with the creepy evil red/orange giant junkyard magnet from Brave Little Toaster when I was 6 years old and how that thing freaked me out yet I weirdly enjoyed getting freaked out (when they can freak me out) and still do to this day. Haha I only wish the Jackhammer boss was a longer boss fight as he was insanely way too easy to beat it was disappointing. Such a cool boss.
OG!!! mad Jackhammer!!!! Run for ur life.
some bosses like this one in the level scared me just cuz it was following me!
Thumbs up if you were afraid when you were little to go to the top...
man i played this when i was 7 I really liked this game good game!
loved dis game
this game brings back memories
Jackhammer bad guy at midnight 12am
Jackhammer Boss: "I hope you have the disc launcher."
So you *hope* your opponent has the weapon capable of destroying you? Okay, sure.
To this day, I'm not sure if it's the boss mocking you, or the game giving you a hint.
I LOVE THIS VIDEOGAME ITS AWESOME!!!!!
@TheGamecube64Guy I always thought that too. This game was made in 1999 so I think thats why. It's so nostalgic looking back at this game. Played it ten years ago.
5:07 man, I never ever even tried to beat that thing as a kid because I was too scared!!
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! BIG SCARY JACKHAMMER!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! *runs out of room, screaming in terror*
I remember being disappointed with this boss as a kid, because Andy's House was filled with small robots, and the boss was a big robot. This level is filled with small flying robots who shoot lasers, and the boss is a giant...jackhammer?
i used to play this game so much i knew where everything was before i saw it on here :)
lol the last time i played this game i was so young i used to get my mum to beat the jackhammer boss for me because i was too scared of it :D
Ah the twin towers in the skyline background..
The original WTC.. what a special Skyline I miss him
OOOOooooo ahahhahahaha! epic fail at 3:05! (No offence) I'm just saying it's pretty funny. The way you got knocked down to the platform downwards then the ground! hehe, its like the world hates you.
Damn, I really have to download it to my PS3
i miss that i play this 13-14 years old! :)
is it just me or did anyone else find this game ridiculously hard when they were a kid? every level seemed to make you traverse some tall structure and then if you fell off you'd have to start all over again! it's making me want to throw my pad across the room just thinking about it...
The jackhammer is scary enough to be one of Sid's deformed toys
How to kill jackhammer: 1: get 60 shooting disks near mr potato head and have full battery. 2: go to jackhammer and don't shoot on mobs on your way to jackhammer. 3: challenge jackhammer, avoid the red rails by walking away but don't jump, you might fall off the building. While doing that, keep a safe distance and keep shooting at him like a crazy f#ck!
I never got this far in the game. Battling a jackhammer!!!! WOW!!!!!
I remember on this I made it to the top to fight the jackhammer without the green laser, I jumped and I was so upset!
hot flying nails? I thought they were hot spicy mushrooms hahaha
That really wouldn't make sense, since it is a construction yard.
I never could defeat the jackhammer boss as a child, not because he was hard, but because he scared the hell out of me...
I never defeated it either many years ago.
This level used to make me cry.
Don't forget the randomly placed currency!
I am Buzz Lightyear SPACE RANGER... lmfaooo
Epic nostalgia they should remake the game for newer consoles or pc I love this game
when you fall most of the time, i bet you were like..
" DAMMIT! >XO !! "
good game tho :D
That damn drill is the reason why i didnt finish this game :(
3:07 that was just cruel.
3:09 Troll Face XD
AHAHAHAHAHAHA 3:05 double epic fail ahahaha!! it happened to me once too :,) Terrible feeling ahahahahaha Then there is Buzz who shouts "BOOOH BOOOH BOOOH"..... Have you ever reached the rooftop of the green building? What can you find there??
To me those disks didn't work for shit -_-
Midnight 12am
And also Slinky 🔧 that you forgot to mention on your descriptions
anyone else thought mr potato head said fuck me?
@bouchandre haha you're not the only one dude, my brother always do it for me haha
