Great vid! One thing not to do is overfill your gas tank. I had one that filled the entire EVAP line to the purge valve with carbon particles from the canister. The purge valve was jamming open or close, cant remember which. Let the gas handle click only once during a fill up. Hope it helps! Cheers!
Thanks for the great video! I replaced my purge valve, then my vent valve and gas cap, but I'm still getting the code after about 20-30 min of driving. I'm not seeing a bad hose or connection. This did start happening after I had a weird situation with filling my tank. I was almost empty and stopped to fill up my 25 gal tank. I put in about 18 gal and the pump quit. My gauge said it was 3/4 full, so I tried adding more a couple times, but I could hear the gas coming up the filler tube so I stopped. I've never had that happen. Then, my Promaster wouldn't start. I let it sit and kept trying until it started really rough. It settled down, and I drove another 100 miles home. A day or two later, I got the P0456 code. I replaced the purge valve. Then a couple days later I got P0441. I replaced the vent valve and gas cap, but got the code again after 30 min driving. I wonder if I damaged my canister at that fill up?
@@Sethhaun78 I finally realized that the after market purge valve I installed was not working when I tested it. I ordered the Mopar and it's been working fine now for weeks.

Hi , thanks for the explanation. My Dodge Durango 2003 4.7 has the evaporative emmision incorrect purge flow code . I have noticed at start up no issues but after a while at a stop light the combustion seems a little lumpy plus I’m getting a slight smell of smoke. Exhaust is clear and clean no black smoke and no change in idle speed . Wonder if you have any ideas cheers
So I don’t have any codes coming up but my truck is being weird. It seems to sound louder than normal when I’m getting up to speed. I did find that a hose was disconnected at the evap canister. I put it back on and put a hose clamp on it. Don’t see any signs of it being broken or anything like that. Still not exactly sure what’s going on. My code reader shows that the purge flow monitor failed. But no codes, why???
Appreciate the video. I bought a Foxwell reader when my engine light lit up on my Charger, but by the time I got it the light went away though I still got a P0441 reading. Does that mean it's probably an intermittent issue or does the code remain until erased regardless? And Chargers don't have a gas cap per se, it's part of the cover, and seems to be clean of debris. All hose connections look good.
It may be an intermittent issue; I would test the purge valve and the wiring. The new no gas systems need to seal like the old gas caps. Also, the light may go off, but the code may still be there until it passes a drive cycle.
Great video. I dont know if this narrows it down at all. I have a 2014 Ram 1500 that has this code. The fume back up in the tank is so bad that you can hear them release when you take the gas cap off, and when you are fueling the tank it chokes the nozzle ever half a litre to three litres. So time consuming to fill up
i broke the gas cap release button on the inside of my door when i was replacing a broken window now its real loose and every time i shut the door too hard it pops open the gas cap cover. i got this code too. need a new button bracket mount thing. small plastic piece

Yeah I need to know how you remedied this too

My 2014 has no leak purge valve, which has been replaced 2 times. There was tsb for it as a software issue as the cause

That is common symptom when the vent valve is stuck closed or clogged.

How do I fix the wiring my was cut
Smoke machine + new purge + new canister + new gas cap + new detection leak solenoid + new gas tank still P0441 2006 T&C any help please 😢
After replacing all those things did you erase the code?
Yes I found a new leak on top of the gas tank hose , time to reset the codes and see what’s next I’ll keep you posted
Did you check all the hoses and connections?
@@Themachineincmarte Did this solve your problem? Was it the hose that goes to the top of the tank or the fuel neck filler hoses.
This is good stuff.
I am actually getting this code and as it turns out I have a leak on the top of my gas tank.
Has anyone mds stopped working cause of this?
A little late, but any time a check engine light is on it will shut off the mds
