Haha a store stuck in time, love it! :D How difficult can it be to just display the products properly and make it easily accessible to the customers? Crazy :D Glad you got the Super GameBoy. SNES controller is perfect with GB games!
Haha! Sorry, Tony! 🍻 I guess we are all just set in our ways. ESPN, NBC, IBM.... IKEA, NASA, UNICEF, NATO... It's just the way I've always said it. I get it, though!
Do these shops own the space or rent it? Rent for storefront in the US is crazy expensive nowadays and unless you are bringing in 5k a month even for a small shop you are not gonna last so i wonder what the deal is here.
Ok. Sorry it took so long, but I can finally answer this question. They own the space. The floors above them, they lease out to other companies while they run their own gaming store business downstairs like a hobby!
@@SpikeSetsFire Thanks for the reply!! that makes a lot more sense then lol Japan never disappoints i hope to visit one day. Cheers from the USA and hope all is well.
@@zachmoyer1849 Thanks, Zach! You'll love it here! When you come, be sure to drop me a line. I'd love to hear about your adventures! It's a whole different world here!
Thanks, Bill! I'd say it's both underpriced and overpriced. Some games that are $10, you can find elsewhere for $1. But there's some stuff in this shop that would probably sell for a lot more in places that actually take the time to price games individually.
It was all an act, Kenny. They conned us, and they scored big time. Mon N Pop's plan was to move into the neighbourhood. Establish trust....for 48 years. And then run off with my Super GameBoy money.
ROFL that splurge should keep them going for the next decade

Haha! Thanks, Adam! It took a few blows to get the Super GameBoy working, but eventually got there!
If I hear one more dude call a S-N-E-S a "Sness" one more time I'm gonna scream.

Sness.
Wish there was a store like this in northeast ohio..... but we got record exchange...
Compared to the 100Y bin of the local bookoff/hardoff these don't have the best prices. But with blanket prices you can find a deal that is worth it
That's exactly it, JC!
The US version of jo Jo's bizzare adventure for the ps1 is worth $700 the last time i checked ebay! 🎮🕹️🎮
That's unbelievable, John, isn't it!? Crazy prices!!
2:05 I think that is the intention.. haha
If you find Cindy's fashion world in that heap you can sell it to spend more on their dinky shop, everybody wins. nice surprise vid!
I wonder what they would think if they saw a grown man come into their store and buy a copy of Cindy's Fashion World!
"Hey... I just love fashion!"
@@SpikeSetsFire I'm sure they've seen worse, and by the "one size fits all" pricing, they're probably numb to the cringe and otaku shenanigans by now
Haha! I think you're right, Venom.
Ah yes, a couple of jerry cans of fuel - an absolute essential part of any retro game store! Loving your new apartment, by the way 😂
It's lovely isn't it, Mike! I'm really moving up in the world!
@@SpikeSetsFire Can't wait to come visit and play VR there and either fall through the floor or the wall 👍👍
Hahaha! You won't know if you're playing VR inside the house in Resident Evil 7 or in reality!

is that the typical price of retro games in japan or are they way underpriced? either way nice video

@@SpikeSetsFire Jerry’s coming to Melbourne next June!
So I heard!! I take it you'll be in attendance with Bania front row and centre. He needs to get a bag of oranges and come to Japan too.
