    This has alot of good tips! Although, I don't think you really need to print your design on regular paper first. I love that water "pen"!

    • @scraperfect
      @scraperfect  2 года назад +6

      Since I don't think the very thin tissue paper would feed into the printer well, it's important to tape it to printer paper. To your point, I suppose if printing a full page, and using a full page of tissue (or other fancy paper), it's not strictly necessary to print out the design first; I use this technique all the time usually on smaller designs and often on vellum, so I need to print it first to be sure the to-be-printed-on paper will be centered properly so it gets printed from the document file. I'm currently using tissue paper cut from the large sheets intended for wrapping and the sheets I cut aren't standard sizes (or shape). SO, by printing on a paper first, I am sure to tape the tissue paper over the design and know it's going to print onto the tissue. Hope this explanation makes sense, loll!!

      @scraperfect  Год назад +3

      @@cosmotheshihtzu8128 , I don’t understand your confusion. Did you watch the video, and if so at what point did I lose you? You create the thing to print in your computer, you print it on printer paper, you cover that with tissue paper and tape it on, you reprint and it now prints on the top layer exactly in the same place you printed the first time so it prints on tissue paper.

    Hello, I understand what the talc pad does on the tissue paper, but why do you print the image on both regular AND then tissue? Why not just tape the tissue to regular paper for extra weight and just print on the tissue paper?

    • @scraperfect
      @scraperfect  Год назад +2

      First, the pouch has no talc in it. (Breathing talc can be irritating at beat and carcinogenic at worst!)
      Good question! I typically print on paper first to make sure the image is the right size AND if I’m only print a small image, I know where to put the tissue paper (or vellum, muslin, pearly paper or whatever I’m printing on) so that I don’t waste a whole sheet for a 2” square image.

    This is so great!!! Thank you you so much!!! What kind of printer do you have?

    • @scraperfect
      @scraperfect  2 года назад +1

      I have an hp all in one. I've been doing this for years and have had printers given to me by both hp and Epson. I used to go to CHA, largest trade show in the world and while I found Epson inks were more reliable on "odder" surfaces, hp was a workhorse that was not finicky about the papers (or other stuff) I sent through, and like the Eveready Bunny, it keeps on going! (It also didn't matter if I used the $39 Walmart basic that I brought to the trade shows, or the top of the line 24" flatbed or the portable travel printer they sent me, the printing on slick, coated, absorbent papers, cork, even sculpt bake n bend clay- all were just fine!) PLUS when I use the PERFECT CRAFTING POUCH, then the reliability of coverage was not an issue (improving both hp AND epson to be perfect.)
      NOTE: I do not work for any printer company and have nothing to gain by my "review". I do suggest you check out some my other videos about printing, and how to print on scraps, in shapes, etc.

    Do you download an image from the internet and print out on tissue paper. Ty

    • @scraperfect
      @scraperfect  4 месяца назад

      Yes. Exactly. Print on regular paper and tape tissue paper to the printed paper. (Use ScraPerfect’s Perfect Crafting Pouch if desired to stop bleeding on the tissue paper.) the put paper back into printer and reprint to print on the tissue paper. This is done because the printer probably wouldn’t feed the super lightweight tissue paper in correctly if not taped to the printer paper.

  • @nancyhoward5632
    @nancyhoward5632 Год назад

    When you load the paper(s) in the tray, what are you commanding the printer to do? Are you copying a blank screen?

    • @scraperfect
      @scraperfect  Год назад +1

      After reading below, rewatch the video and it’ll probably make better sense.
      I first create whatever I want printed in word processing (or whatever app you wish). I print it to make sure it’s exactly what I want ( checking size, font, etc). I’d not, I adjust and reprint till it’s perfect. If I only want one, I rip a piece of tissue paper big enough to cover it and tape it on top of the perfect image.
      I then swipe with the Perfect Crafting Pouch to assure crips printing and put the paper back in so when I reprint it prints on tissue paper,
      If I’m making multiple of same image, I copy/ paste as many as fit and tape on tissue paper big enough to cover, swipe, reprint.

    Hi. I’m intrigued with your video but very new to this so I’m not understanding how your ptinted out pictures from the internet and then put tissue paper over them and reinserted into printer and how they transferred and printed out? Help. Ty.

    • @scraperfect
      @scraperfect  4 месяца назад

      They don’t transfer. You print on regular paper just to know where image prints on the sheet. You tape tissue over the image and send it back through to print. It will print same image in same place but this time that place has a layer of tissue paper on the printer paper so the 2nd time the image prints, it prints on the tissue paper!

      It is magical because when the tooth fairy takes the teeth she gives them to us:) Actually, it's a combination of acid-free, non-toxic materials, talc-free, materials. Non-irritating and unscented. It does so many things to help crafters and it is neat to use. You can learn more about it here: scraperfect.com/products/perfect-crafting-pouch

    Nice video, Is there a way to add text if you don’t have a white background where the text will stand out?

    • @amyjoeroszak6846
      @amyjoeroszak6846 Год назад

      Sure. You might have to be a little creative. You could use paint as a wash for to create solid. You don't have to do the whole thing, Some shells have variation, and just go with that. Also, you could use a closed background and make the font WHITE- it won't print white, but will print whatever color the paper is. Wish I could upload a photo because I did the for shells I made for a company with a sea star as a logo. I printed a BLUE seastar and used their logo and name in side the sea star written in white.
      Or, you can print on a piece of paper and tear or sand paper the edges. It won't fade completely into the background, but it could look shabby chic.

    • @amyjoeroszak6846
      @amyjoeroszak6846 Год назад

      PS- Did you see in the video where I completely painted the insides with Gesso and Pearly white paint? That will create a white background... I also have dry brushed white/tan paint on the back of shells when I didn't want to completely lose their original shell variation but wanted to adhere my Signature/date.

    can i use vellum paper instead of tissue paper?

    • @scraperfect

      Yes, possibly but it needs to be extremely thin vellum so that it “disappears” as if printing right on the shell, and it needs to bend and overlap on the uneven, curved shell surfaces.

    Le tissu papier en fait est-ce que c'est du papier de soie ?

    • @scraperfect
      @scraperfect  2 года назад +1

      I think it is the same. I googled “paper de soie”, and it came up mostly as “tissue paper”, (but also mulberry paper which is thicker, wouldn’t disappear, has fibers, probably would work but it’s definitely different!)
      I saw some videos using “paper de soie” and it looked like what we call tissue paper.
      Tissue paper is very thin, kind of crinkly, usually put in gift bags partially sticking out to make them look festive and full.

    How to buy tissue paper?

    • @scraperfect
      @scraperfect  Год назад +1

      You can buy inexpensive tissue paper that is most often used to stuff into gift bags or wrap presents (dollar stores or craft stores usually carry this), or do google search for tissue paper- often used for archival storage of photographs, etc.
