Round Our Way Film

Sam Hanna (born in Burnley, East Lancashire 1903) was an inventor, film maker and educator who pioneered the use of film in the classroom. Over six decades Sam produced hundreds of films that documented life and culture in East Lancashire. 2023 marked 120 years since his birth and Blaze marked the occasion with a youth led project inspired by Sam Hanna’s work.
Young people from three high schools in Burnley worked with Fully Formed Films to document and celebrate East Lancashire ‘s diverse contemporary culture through creation of a new digital collection of films and photographs which were exhibited in Burnley Town Centre in 2024.
We also commissioned Pendle Press to publish a new book about Sam Hanna and the Round Our Way project.
The Round Our Way project started with a trip to Towneley Hall in Burnley to see the collection of Sam’s equipment. This film was created by the young people.

I enjoyed this, thank you.
It's always interesting to see how places have changed over the years and you did that very well.
I did not agree with the teacher who said computers would not be able to discuss/scaffold questions and things with students and that would need a human. In 70 years computers will absolutely be able to hold human equivalent conversations and debates, look how far AI has come in just a couple of years. I'm not saying there still won't be teachers but I am saying it's highly likely a computer will be able to do the same job.
Oh and shout out the that dude with glasses in the red jacket, that scarf is legendary , it's a scarf other scarfs want to be, if you are going to wear a scarf then wear one you can also use as a hammock with the ability to shield you from a direct hit by a freight train. Loved that guy.
