  • "Stranger Than Fiction" is a podcast that continues to explore the true stories behind all things spooky and supernatural. In our twenty-first episode, we review “Chapter Three: Holly, Jolly“ of Stranger Things (Season 1, Episode 3). We continue the boys search for Will Byers with Eleven and explore the truly bizarre inspiration behind the series, by looking at the history of Montauk's military base and the experiments that may have occurred.

Accounts of my personal experiences of extremely high strangeness at Montauk Air Force Station and surrounding areas, and my subsequent research into the area and activities there can be found online. I wrote two reports in the 1990s. One is called "Montauk Air Force Station: Active or Not?" The second report is called 'Phoenix Undead: Camp Hero and the Montauk Project Today." My research and experiences at the base gave substantial corroboration and credibility to some of the extraordinary claims made in the books by Preston Nichols and Peter Moon. My research brought forth numerous accounts from service personnel stationed at Montauk and other military facilities with connections to the Montauk base, as well as accounts from people in the vicinity - who had their own extremely bizarre experiences at the Montauk base. My own experiences, corroborated by my partner and other associates, indicate conclusively that many things have gone on and are going on there that are completely outside the bounds of any legitimate or morally and ethically defensible criteria. I was so disturbed and outraged by some of these experiences that I approached a reporter at Dan's Papers in the Hamptons named Jerry Cimisi, and encouraged him to publish an account of my experiences and related information, which was done in 1995. I also can say that info presented here about Long Island geography isn't quite correct: Long Island IS a terminal glacial moraine, but Montauk - especially the area by the Base, radar tower, Turtle Cove and the lighthouse - is NOT. It's the upper remains of a volcanic undersea mountain now mostly submerged under the sea. Original inhabitants the Montaukett Indians knew about and used naturally-existing tunnels (lava tubes and caves) to traverse the area and evade unfriendly intruders. They and other Algonquin tribes considered Turtle Cove to be extremely powerful sacred land, like Mount Shasta: in fact, it was considered the source point of our reality and of "Turtle Island." This land was taken by the US gov't in 1910 via a binding COURT DECISION, a means quite unlike how white people took possession of most of North America. The US gov't wanted IRONCLAD, LEGAL title to Montauk Point with no possibility of any challenge down the road (like now.) After the base was wrecked and partially abandoned in the late 1970s, the US gov't donated ONLY the SURFACE of the property to NY State for the express and sole use as a state park - meaning NO further development (excavation). Suffice to say: it's a still VERY weird and creepy there, as the US gov't continues to use the exceptional esoteric energies of the location to amplify very secretive and advanced ongoing research and experiments - in the underground facilities. In Montauk village itself are a number of buildings, people and various systems that function in coordination with Camp Hero operations. The Native Americans there got screwed royally. So did we all. Read my reports.

I dropped papers on montauk. Used to get breakfast there it was my last stop. I wish knew about this in 2014 when I lived there. Very Informative comment. I now reside in NNY where tunnels under our city provide layers to another mystery. Half MK ultra and the other half is old world buildings and history not being honest. Egypt and Rome were In the USA well before 1492.
