Lovely generator. Honda make the best small engine's, I'd like to say otherwise but I can't! When adjustment screws need to be moved for some reason and your happy that they are at the correct adjustment, count how many full turns are needed to do what ever you have to do, and then it is easy to dial it back in to the right place. Judging by the carbon on the carb intake, its done a few hours, but the fact it has been so well maintained I'd say it has lots of life in it. Always worth while checking the tappet clearances as well the valves do stretch which can lead to carb blow back and lower compression plus burnt valves and seats. I think your daughter has got a definite bonus deal with that one Chris. 😉 ✌♥️🇬🇧
Our generator is running almost full time lately cos of load shedding in South Africa. It needed some work a week ago cos the choke was on& off all the time. There was a spring off but otherwise the filters got cleaned. Hubby is on an oxygen machine so we need it. The cost of fuel is the problem.
Great video Chris. My son used to fly control planes and his big motors 100cc and 50 CC's from one brand had the same thing, with the coil wilnt spark until 400 RPM, cheaper Chinese made motors, didn't have this feature which could be quite dangerous when you're holding a prop which is 32" long. There was a couple of blokes around missing fingers. Cheers Graham.
@@TheUltimateRecycler can b. I would advise not to drink while doing it. One guy I know missing three fingers. Chinese r known to back fire, which is go good. All you need is good technique and don't rush cheers Graham
I like to fix things too, but the newer something is. The harder it is to fix... Good example is small engines, they used to have idle and running fuel mixture screws on the carberetters.. You could adjust for best running, not since the early 80's have seen these...
i cleaned the carby on a 10yr old masport mower recently, was entirely plastic. was at least possible to open up and work on. nothing was blocked though luckily.
Must be nice to have a dad that can check these things!
😊👍
I think to sum it up: "You fix stuff & you know things"! Well done, Chris.
Haha, thanks mate - that's the brief version of my resume!
Thanks. Very informative. It's about the right time of year for a Chainsaw maintenance video. Autumn is only a week away.
Thanks Troy! Might have to dig out a chainsaw or two soon...
Well... if I was ever in the market for a generator, I'd be happy with one of these given your instructions and pointers on how to maintain it!
These are a good reliable unit Martin! Sounds like you have no need for one though!

Thanks Les, sounds like you know your way around an engine! 👍😊

It is a good one mate, very reliable 👍😊
That one was right up your alley Chris. Good to know it will come in handy, nice little added bonus that was. 👍
Thanks Alex, yeah the girls are pretty happy with this! 👍😊
They are a great genie Chris. Bit noisy but tough as nails.

Yeah fuel costs are a big problem these days! 😒

Yeah, that's a real gripe of mine - not being able to tune up small engines!

Straight forward
It was a nice surprise to see this in good condition! The girls were very happy 👍😊
