  • The folks at JF EGWO sent this to us to review, I struggled with it until they sent the new cables. Its a powerful unit, but I highly suggest requesting the 2nd set of cables.

Thanks for the honest review, you’d think they would have checked to make sure it worked before sending it out for a review. You did your job great!
Edit: oh my goodness, I just checked the price.

In their Amazon store, they are currently running a promotion for only $168. I just bought one.

That's the problem with these fancy Li-ion Jumper packs. They work great for FI cars, but not for crap on carbureted cars. I bought that Audeu (sp?) unit you reviewed. It did ok for a little while, but then I smoked it trying to start a 460 one day. It didn't like the back to back startings (10-15 sec to reset after each crank) and ended up cooking something inside. Smelled burnt and never worked right since. I ended up digging out my old Power Start 1100 and replacing the battery in it (power chair battery) and it's as good as new. Plus I can crank on it quite a bit longer. I like the idea of these gadgets and thier compact size, just wish the continuous cranking was better/longer.
Thanks for the thorough and honest review!

I have one from Hobo Freight. Only cost about $80. Works great. Got one for the wifes car too and it works great. I don't think it's so much about the higher 'amps'... It's if it actually works when needed is what is important to me.. Thanks!

The jump box I have in my truck would not start it the last weekend of the State Fair. In it's defense neither would a RAM setting next to the truck with jumper cables hooked up. Both of them together did it though. Those batteries have been replaced. They did come in the truck new 74K miles ago.

Anytime you need instructions to start a vehicle with a dead battery….well lol . But as always you are very entertaining.

I bought one like the last one you reviewed. Works great. I'll not be buying one like this one. Double click a button to turn it on? Get real!

That's so if you bump it by accident, it doesn't switch on.

You haven't sold me on one of these duds. They aren't fool proof and that's what I would need..."fool proof".

Maybe you need to leave it out overnight in the rain for it to work.

I suspect that the difficulty in getting this to work correctly is a perfect example of the failure to RTGDM: read the God-damn manual.

This one was the NoGo 6000. All kidding aside, could they have made it MORE complicated for the end user to operate? I don`t know about boosting phones and powering up other devices, but when you need to boost a vehicle, it needs to work right, the first time. This one looks over-complicated. The designers need to go back to the drawing board, and focus on making it work right every time for its primary purpose. Unless, of course, boosting an engine is not its primary purpose.

While it's good of you to let your batteries die so that you can test these jump boxes companies send you, chances are they sent you a defective unit. That's what I'm thinking.

That thing is a piece of garbage. You need a Audew jump starter. I have one. Guaranteed that one works. Even project farm channel rated audew number 1. ruclips.net/video/JN8A2nIMUWA/видео.html ...with that being said, that little black box that is part of the plug will only put out max current for like 10 seconds. So the plug they gave you bypassed that cutout box. So yes, they are made for F.I. over carbs.
