I don't know about core mechanics, but a quality of life change I'd love to see is being able to lock specific pal box tabs. So I can basically have several load outs at the ready. alternatively, letting us sort by name would be nearly has helpful. Just an easier way to sort your pals, without losing your pals.
3:17 instead of this You can just go behind that tower and you'll find a window and use that to directly access the 2 crates without even defeating the boss. You'll probably need a flying pal to enter the window. Just stand facing the window and throw your pal beside you and pet your pal due to which your pal will enter the room and click on ride.

Great! To answer your question: I think the game is surprisingly good for what it is. I did not expect that when I started. Especially the whole min-maxing about base-layout and breeding mechanics is extremely fun to explore. I think what the game needs are good Challenges like "Beat it without capturing a Pal (breeding run)", "Beat it without using Pals (only-humans-Run)" but you can make that on your own. What the defs can do is bring more variety in base-pals. I think the diversity in which Pals are best fighting Pals is quite good. But for Base-Pals they need to do better math. At the moment specific Pals have the best stats for example: Jormuntide (Ignis) for Level 4 Kindling and Level 4 Watering. But you could do it so much better, if you allow a Level 2 Kindling with let's say Transporting Level 3 to be upgraded to the same Speed as a Level 4 on base-speed. So you achieve that many Pals can be used with different advantages. As it is now it's too clear what "the best" Pals are and fine-tuning doesn't change the situation cuz no matter how much you upgrade a Level 2 it will never be close to a Level 4. Missed opportunity. Sorry, if that isn't well written or understandable. English is not my main language. Botton line: Great game, if the defs fine-tune the mathematical possibilities it can be outstanding.

Ty
Giving a subtle nod to Ty was a gesture I had to put in this video. Agumon was the best companion.
What is the location of the cave with several pillars underwater?
