Just so you know. Pretty blah day. Staring at my 93 stumpjumper in the corner. Have some repairs to do. Your video made me smile and got me off the couch. Simple but effective
Just so you know, I’m sitting at work doing mindless paperwork and your comment has put a smile on my face from ear to ear 😃 Cheers P.S. I can’t wait for the weekend to go riding again 😂
Nothing wrong with old school mate. I went over the bars some weeks back...but I fractured 3 vertebrae in my neck and had to have a cage put in. I'm still in healing mode.
I got an 80s mountain bike from a friends dad that died recently. I refurbished it, put some new components and a front rack with basket on it and used it for bikepacking and commuting. I loved it and it worked so well for my adventures. Last month it got stolen...
I have recently discovered the channel also. Fantastic content and superb quality. Possibly a way to get picked up more by the algo: More text in your video descriptions, which include keywords, which will be searched by your target audience. Also ensure your channel is opened up for the world vs just Australia. Subscribed; looking forward to the next vid!!
Thanks mate. Hopefully I can convince some of my mates to buy and use a camera. might make future videos a bit easier. I do enjoy playing with cameras though. Keeps me entertained for hours 😂
Haha, don’t let my old bike addiction brainwash you 😂 Browsing marketplace for old bikes for no reason at all is becoming a real problem for me. Last weekend I took another old bike up the coast to make a video but I ended up getting sick so I didn’t touch my camera. Nor the bike for that matter. I enjoy playing with them but I have no room for any more. Hope the Gary Fisher brings you a heap of smiles 😁 By the way I haven’t rode my “good bike” for at least 6 months.
Nearly 2 years on and I’m loving the bikepacking. Still haven’t done the ride I got the bike for though 😂 And now I rewatch this, I like the tunes too. One of my better selections 😀
My first mountain bike only I had what today you would call " Jones bars " . I did seven months cycling France with wife and two young children and we lived out of panniers but when I do a week I use a bar bag and seat bag , when you are only packing for yourself it's amazing how little amount of gear you need .
Sounds like an unbelievable trip. It's amazing how many parents use their kids as an excuse not to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Massive respect for 7 month cycling trip with kids 👍 I received some panier bags for free, I've now done 2 rides with them and both times I've taken way to much gear. Last night I ordered a frame bag. Next month I'm doing another overnighter and I'll try take as little as possible. Paniers are staying at home. My bike was so heavy on the last one and it was just 1 night. I won't make that mistake again.
Hello from the Basque Country, I'm looking different mountain bikes from the 90s and I was wondering if you followed any particular chart to choose the size and if you have any particular advice when it comes to buy these kind of bikes. As other comments say quality is sick!
Thanks 👍 Unfortunately I can't really help with size. When I bought this bike I was really only looking for a decent brand. I found an old PDF brochure online of this bike and there where some top end models that were titanium. The guy selling it had no idea what it was so I just told him I was on my way. Turns out this bike is a lower end model with steel frame with a Chromoly top and bottom tube. I'd suggest trying to find a full Chromoly frame as they are stronger and lighter. Saying that I love mine. As for size. I wanted something a little bigger than what would normally be my size. it's hard to pick when buying 2nd hand though. I'm 164cm tall and I think this is a large frame. I need to have the seat all the way down. I like this for 2 reasons. 1: The frame front triangle is bigger and has more space for frame bags and water bottles etc. And 2: I put a shorter stem on with wider handle bars so I wasn't so over the front of the bike when riding it. If it was a small frame this would probably make the bike feel a bit cramped. If you wanted to keep the original stem and handle bars you would want to go frame size for your height. Unfortunately I can't help with this. Here is the link to the PDF brochure I found on my bike. There are a few dimensions down the bottom that may help. Goodluck. www.rideandrepair.co.uk/Retrobike/M-Trax_1995.pdf
50 Aussie Dollars. That's about 36usd. They're are getting popular. I love riding mine. I can't stop browsing the classified looking for another. It's addictive 😀
@@advanturest i stripped an old road bike down a couple of years ago and did the bare metal thing. It looked sick, but was too big and fixed gear so i got rid of it.
No it’s Chromoly top and bottom tubes and I think the rest of the frame is plain old steel! The top model has titanium top, bottom, and seat tubes which would be cool! Don’t think they did carbon models.

Oh no, This story was sounding so positive until the ending. I wish I didn't read the last line. Fingers crossed it's found.
Cheers 🤞
Good choice I still got my 1992 diamondback topanga still in use 👍🏼
This is pretty much the only bike I have been riding lately. I've got an obsession with it. Strangely fun to ride.
Content quality is insane!!! I thought you'd have well over 200k subs. Soon, remarkable videography and editing
Are you sure you're commenting on the right video? 😂😂😂 Thanks though!

What a sick bike ! Looks bulletproof
Solid as a Rock! 👌
Tim, could not help myself, I have been watching you too much, picked up a 2004 Gary Fisher Hybrid near perfect for $50.

Hey mate, where do you live in NSW? When I studied overseas back in 2009 I was living in Newcastle
50usd is a catch, 90s mtb are rising in prices fast

@@advanturest rediculous catch! Expect have 10 of them soon, all set up in different ways
Editing again 👌🏼
Wise move adding discs. Obviously you experienced how horrible V brakes are to adjust, and brake..
Colour it is looks nice.
What about after I grind back some areas to weld? I want to leave it original but I've seen some sexy rebuilds online.
@@advanturest oh i know. Bare metal with matt clear coat over it. Some custom stickers too.

@Ryan Hardy Maybe clear cote over the welded sections. That way it still looks half original but the changes stand out. I might have to try it.
You drive a Land Crusier ?!
I do!
