  • HI guys, it's Whynabile here.
    Today, I show you how to preserver your puzzles with school glue. This method is much easier than using "puzzle glue" and takes less time. It's better overall, and I hope you use and enjoy it.
    I'll try to put out more vids over the summer.

      Hi, thats a freaky coincidence! I was also thinking, I wonder, what the puzzle is called, how many pieces are there, in it and how long did it take him, to complete it ?!! I ended up here because I want to find out, what is a good size puzzle, to start me off with. I haven't done one in over 20 years!! I have too much time, on my hamds nowadays plus, I am bored! I am 5 years late, for your comment! It is 4.34 am on 22 nd of February 2020 :) xxxx

    I love the fact that you included your grandfather in the video. Speaking from an informative view point, you could have just showed us how to do this by yourself and saved some time by not having to worry about collaboration. Instead, having your grandfather in the video lets us, as the viewers, feel like we are also a part of the hobby process that you (as it seems) enjoy with your grandfather. This is much more of a comfortable setting than had it been just yourself giving an auditory presentation. I bring this up because I found myself not caring whenever you stuttered or an unplanned pause was created. Don't get me wrong, I don't come to RUclips for constant High quality performance. I just want you to know that I still would've enjoyed the video, had I clicked on this video not in need of puzzle preserving advice. I also came out of it with a reminder that good intent can overshadow any kind super clean presentation practice(Also, I'll probs' save on glue prices. Pretty sweet.). You seemed appropriately practiced and organized. The idea of sharing a hobby you and a loved one enjoy warmed my heart. I can't say I regret clicking on your video in the slightest and hope you and your grandfather a good puzzle building future. I got a puzzle to glue.

    If you put the puzzle down in one corner of the backing board so two sides of the puzzle are lined up exactly even with two sides of the backing, you'll have to trim only two sides instead of four.

      It depends on the shape of the pieces, and the kind of picture. Some 500-piece puzzles are _much_ harder than 2000-piece ones. For instance, this evening I completed a rather difficult 504-piece one. All of the pieces were the standard shape, and a large section of the photo consisted of a confusing patch of flowers and leaves.

    Try 1:1 PVA/Water mix and pour over the top of puzzle which has been placed over the backing piece (I use foam board). Brush into puzzle and wipe away excess glue from the surface using lint free rag. For a 1000 piece 50x70cm puzzle I find a 100ml mixture just right. In a single step you'll glue the pieces together and also to the backing board.

    Season's Greetings Whynabile! It's time for the annual check in to see how you are doing and if you've had a chance to reflect upon my comments as well as another concerned subscriber, Min 6? We're not so much angry anymore as we are glad to see you've persevered through the pandemic. However, this does little to satisfy our ongoing concern about your usage of the green glue bottle at the 2:43 mark on the above video. Although your video helped catapult our puzzle gluing career it also gave us pause as we admittedly have concerns about your integrity. Can you let us know why you seemed so adamatantly opposed to the green glue bottle, yet still decided to sneak it in? We noticed and I'm sure others share the same sentiment. We want to close this chapter but we'll need your help with this. Awaiting your comments. Many blessings friend!

      Dear Bryon,
      Thank you for your thoughtful viewing of my puzzle glueing video. After careful consideration and thorough review of the available evidence, I would like to state my position: I absolutely did NOT use the substandard green glue on this puzzle. Please consider these facts: First, the puzzle was already glued at the instance of alleged green-glueing - there would be no reason to add additional last-minute glue; Second, the puzzle was not lying flat on the table when the green bottle appeared to pass over it, so it could not have been depositing any pressure, or glue, on the puzzle. From traumatic experience with the foam-tip green-bottle sub-standard puzzle-glue, pressure must be applied to the applicator to get so-called "glue" flowing; Finally, and most importantly, frame-by-frame forensic analysis of the video, conducted by a third party and peer reviewed, reveals that the bottle at 2:49 was in fact applicator-side up, therefore not applying glue to the puzzle. We believe that these observations unequivocally prove the innocence of 14-year-old Jack.
      Again, thank you for your careful viewing and dedication to the truth. I hope this answers your question.
      Happy Puzzling,
      Jack (Whynabile)

      @@Min-nw3pp
      Dear Min,
      Thank you for your thoughtful viewing of my puzzle glueing video. After careful consideration and thorough review of the available evidence, I would like to state my position: I DID use the green puzzle glue, which is in reality the superior puzzle preserving product. At the time of this filming, I had just entered an exclusive eight year contract with the international school-glue lobby. As part of that lucrative deal, I was obligated to slander all competitor products, including this wrongly-maligned green puzzle glue. In secret though, I still used the green puzzle glue, as it is a far superior product. When I saw your comment, I knew I had messed up and accidentally been caught on camera. For obvious reasons, I could not have responded any earlier, until the contract ran out earlier this year.
      Again, thank you for your careful viewing and dedication to the truth. I hope this answers your question.
      Happy Puzzling,

      @@kee-tu4cq thanks for the reply. I have a follow-up question for you. Did it keep your puzzle flat or did the glue drying make it wavey

    • @kee-tu4cq
      @kee-tu4cq 3 года назад

      @@inspectorsteve2287 No with the puzzle glue it actually stayed totally flat. When I use modge podge I do tend to get a little curl at the edges, which is another reason I liked the MasterPieces puzzle glue better.

    I have a 3D puzzle I'd like to mount for my grandson, the face of it is not smooth like a regular puzzle, it's, I guess u would say it's holographic. I'm afraid I'll ruin the puzzle if I glue the front, can I just glue the back side?? Anyone?? If anybody can answer this for me, I'd appreciate it immensely, thanks.

      HI Robin Hensley, thanks for ur input on the puzzle saving. I did go on Amazon and bought the adhesive backing sheets. It was a pretty small puzzle so I only had to use 2 of the sheets, it worked out really well, and I would recommend them :) I have about 8 sheets leftover, so I can do other smaller puzzles. Don't really know how many packages I'd need for a large puzzle, but I'll find out soon enough (I have one that's 3ft X 2ft). The problem with the first one was/is the frame. That was a pain in back side, took awhile to get it (puzzle) centered, and once I got it all ready and held it up (It was done on my table), so when I put under the Xmas tree, leaning against a table, the doggone puzzle SLID DOWN, ugh! And it was lopsided. Needless to say, I wasn't a happy camper. Any suggestions on a GOOD PUZZLE FRAME or how to keep it from sliding would be appreciated :( Do I need to glue them to the frame mat??

    Great vid, but got a bit confused at the 2:43 mark in which my 11-year-old daughter noticed you reverted back to the very (green bottle) glue that you completely demonized at the onset of the tutorial. Smh!

      So @doloresgosnell I’ve had a little more time to think about your rebuttal and I want to make peace with you but we still need to get to the truth. I haven’t slept in a year. I have researched every green glue bottle there is in the country and I’m telling you @whynabile Is not squaring up with us. You should be as upset as I am! I agree that his love for his grandfather is endearing, but the 2:43 mark still needs explaining! Let’s see if we can get him to come clean!

      All right folks...It’s time for our annual annual check-in regarding the green glue bottle controversy. Listen , we are ready to let this go. However, it simply does not sit well with us for there to be no accountability. I’ve spent close to three years trying to move past this, and all I ask is that you acknowledge that you used the green glue bottle. Admit it and let’s move forward. Talk to you next year. ✌🏼

    How did it ruin the puzzle? You say that it is the same thing as the elmers that you used just watered down!!!!!

    • @PandaXs1
      @PandaXs1 8 лет назад +2

      +David Gouin Elmer's glue is worse. sealerslike Mod Podge are like craft glue (and are even used as glue), but they also include things like varnish in the mix. watered down glue may give the impression of the same finish at first, but after a while it'll start to yellow and peel. sealers will still keep a nice finish because they're designed to do exactly that.

    • @Elle-fp5uy

      I did that, it holds together well but you go through a lot if you're doing the front and back of the puzzle.
