  • With a few mods, here's a $25 wireless mic that you could use for your DSLR!
    The Fifine K037 is a digitally controlled 20-channel UHF wireless lapel system. It was originally designed to work with audio systems where you could plug it into an audio mixer. Apparently, it uses a 1/4" audio jack, making in incompatible with most DSLRs out of the box. Audio adapters may be available online, but using one would only give you a mono output. This mod will teach you how to add an Female audio jack to this wireless mic having a combined mono to get a Mono-Stereo output.

      Saludos cabron.

    if both of your antennas are in the same direction, either up or sideways, you will get better range for your audio.
    If you have one up (vertical) and the other sideways (horizontal) , like you did laying on your camera, you will lose some signal and the range will not be as good.
    this is called cross polarization and is the same with any transmitted radio signal. make them the same and you will get the best range possible.

    dont they make adapters to downsize the jack?

    • @TechBuilder
      @TechBuilder  5 лет назад +3

      The available adapters only provides a mono output. Using it would leave the other channel of the camera unused, it makes the editing more tedious. Leaving the jack as well makes the reciever's form factor a lot bulkier due to the buldge. You can still use one if you choose to :)

    @TechBuilder Awesome how to. Thanks.
    Let me return the favor. You see the motion blur that you get in your videos after editing? I imagine you are using Sony Vegas. Follow these steps and you will never have motion blur ever again. It only takes a couple seconds. You need to perform this every time you create a new video.
    Step 1) Before you are about to render your video, go to the top toolbar and you'll see an arrow with a square dotted box around it, select that.
    Step 2) Left click the mouse and select all of the video and text in the timeline that you created, do (Not) select audio, selecting audio will not show you the selection that you need to select. Remember, the audio is fine, it's the video and text that is blurred during movement.
    Step 3) Once you've selected the video and text right-click anywhere on the selected items, select Switches, then select "Disable Resample".
    Step 4) Now you can render your video and it will never have a blur effect again. 👍

      Keyboard shortcuts, press (D) a few times and it will cycle through the shortcuts until you get to the dotted square. To to clear out and go back to your default cursor just hit (Ctrl D).

    Thanks for the review. Hadn't heard of this system before. In this case I'd be more inclined to just use an adapter rather than hack the circuit board/case. Personally, I think hacking a hot shoe mount (something like this: www.amazon.com/Neewer-Durable-Mount-Adapter-Tripod/dp/B00OT75QTA/ref=sr_1_3) to the case would be more useful. But that's just personal preference. Cheers.

    The audio turned out "pretty good"? No, it was horrible. Any audio recorded on your DSLR will be pretty bad in the first place, even if you're using a real microphone.
