Yes, I had it done. Both cadaver & tissue from the roof of my mouth. The worse part is the healing of the roof of my mouth. Felt like a huge canker sore! Once that somewhat healed it was clear sailing. Glad I had it done while I was younger.

Hi Everyone, I am so glad you got the surgery. I am in my 50s and my mom had this surgrey when I was 10 years of age. She died 5 years ago with all her teeth. If you get regular dental checkups and cleanings you should have the same. The swelling and pain gradually go away but you will have your own teeth....how wonderful. Take care. Your canadian friend. I had this done a couple years ago ( I was about 30 at the time). I was terrified but I promise it is not a big deal. It was so much easier than I was expecting, also not that painful but I did feel like my mouth was throbbing for a couple days. Just do it, you will be so glad you did. Good luck and God bless you!
Hope you are healing up fast! I haven't had gum grafting but I have had 2 teeth pulled and bone grafting done. I lived on baked acorn squarsh for quite a while! Take care! 💛🦷
My dad is 62 and had the same argument about his knee replacements 15 years ago. I'm happy to say he is scheduled for a left knee replacement in July! Six months after that his right knee. He is also trying to get it all done before he is on "old people" insurance.

I’m not real familiar with the what it is and the purpose for it but I agree that if you need to get anything done go for it while you’re able. Time surely gets away from us way to fast. I’ve had porcelain crowns installed (8 top and 9 bottom) in two different procedures and it was the most miserable time of my life. The bottom set was very traumatic and so painful and took at least 3 weeks until the pain subsided. I won’t be having any other major work done in my mouth. I definitely feel your pain, glad you made a good recovery. Chad was a sweet nurse.
I just had mine done on Monday. My stitches are coming out from the roof of my mouth. I do have bruising and swelling as well. Glad you recovered well.
Ouch! You are a "super trouper" 😉, Grandma G! I am 34 and have quite a bit of gum recession, have had it for years. I used to brush really hard as a little girl and teen. It used to bother me tremendously during my college years. Had to learn to chew in certain places of my mouth, and ice cream or cold drinks were so painful! It doesn't bother me too much now, which was a big surprise. I noticed it feeling better after switching from Sensodyne to the Hello brand. Really weird, but I'll take it! I have thought about getting this surgery done, so it helps to see what your experience was/is so that if mine gets bad again, that might be an option. Get well soon; you're looking great!

I’m so glad your doing good Jennifer. It was a tuff surgery to have . Bless you. I had my whole teeth PORCELAIN VENEERED that took 12 hours then I had to wait two weeks for them to come back. My teeth were not bad but they needed to get aligned. I have them cleaned every 4 months but like you we have to take care of our teeth and gums . I even wore braces for about 4 months before on one side of my mouth before the surgery could go ahead. Very expensive but my husband said well worth it at our age.
