Hi Wilf - We did not get this show on any of the networks here in Australia, and I only came across it on YT a few years ago.
I watched this year's ago but I missed a lot. Great seeing it again.
The sailing scene is at Binbrook Conservation Area, south of Hamilton, ON. I was just there a few days ago.
Bradley V they made extensive use of the outskirts of Hamilton, they even had carte blanch at an old farm which was why the house, out buildings, and yard were freely strewn with junk

Why watch any of the cooking shows today when we had Red Green showing us more entertaining ways to cook? Other than how unsanitary that washer was, and he could’ve actually measured the ingredients more accurately, that ice machine could actually work!
Eric Whitney there’s one guy who clearly was influenced by Red: Alton Brown. He’s done a few experiments like that and would have made Red proud with his contraptions
A washing machine would make a terrible ice cream maker. Ice cream is made when the cream base freezes as it comes into contact with the edges of the cold cannister, and the dasher continuously scrapes the edges to mix the solidified cream (along with air) into the liquid base until the whole solution is converted into a semi-firm, aerated solid. The agitator in a washing machine wouldn't scrape the edges of the chamber, so you would either end up with a frozen block or a mixture full of ice chunks, which would not be palatable.
