Honestly I just don't get people's gripes with fingerless gloves. Sometimes in winter I want to feel and have finger grip but the palm protection really helps. It wouldn't warm as much as a full glove ofc. It also is useful in all sorts of sports and I use them for digital drawing. I think they look really neat.
