New Zeal.
Cause that's how politicians are especially labour. They try take advantage of the groups that are considered less fortunate and try use them for political gain.
Why is there only 1 male? I don't feel very represented? Was that up to 1News or the parties?
Mum always said if you want to attract another guinea pig use a female guinea pig. The girls will join for company, the boys for other reasons.
If you're looking for the easily dominated or those past interest in such things you can try the alpha male idea, but they tend to wander off on their own trying to build a herd, or be cowled by a more dominant alpha especially a female one.
The parties choose, some had less wrinkly choices than others.
That's the Parties decision, 1News definitely cannot decide who comes, Simeon Brown was supposed to come for National but maybe pulled out, kinda shocking to see National didnt have a young person because Erica Stanford is 45 🤣
Kia ora-the decision of which candidate to send to political debates sits with the parties.
Erica is so bland, she was so weak here
And entitled. Out of touch.
Lee was absolutely on fire
Because he was completely smoked by Chlöe.
She sounded good... but that's all. If you remove the noise and ganging up on Lee... He actually made sense
I live near ORMISTON, the cost of homes there start from $1.5 million with no land and crowded cars park infront of your house, if your lucky enough to find a deposit the montlhy repayments based on currect rates on a 25 year term is $8K , Im not intrested in voting for any of these clowns unless a party challenge the money system.
Precisely bro ! The current 'free' market for money system is more 'free' for asset-rich people.
Fixing this need talking more about banking fundamentals. RBNZ has clearly mentioned how banks 'create' money by issuing more mortgages. We should stop using this 'created' money for investors' speculation. They should only use 'earned' money to invest
@@jomigregory7253 you got it bro, look at NATIONAL & LABOUR policies, they are 100 years old, BORING how many years they have been trying to fix the same problems its all BS to keep them employed, NZ FIRST policy rubbish, ACT rubbish, unless a new party challenge the money system and change the financial system you wont see me at the voting booth again
Facts. And I wonder, is affordability a goal of this system? When has it intended to be equitable? I don't believe that are ANY affordable housing markets that are dependant on private ownership. Singapore has 80% of its housing stock as public housing, rich, poor, everything in between
The greens and maori party literally have policy that will prevent land banking and housing speculation, helping bring down prices.
Banks are legal criminal enterprises. Always have been. They enslave and gouge their 'clients' while our governments look on and do nothing to stop it.
All good viewpoints from each candidate. Enjoyed it. Makes it tough to decide who to vote for
New system pls. Am over these clowns making rules up as they go. This day and age with technology available, every issue, bill etc put it to referendum. Let us decide what we want in a more targeted way. So sick of politicans we dont need them.
The question is will that actually make things better? How many people do you think will actually do the research and not just vote based on their own bias and assumptions?

That mediator has to be the worst I've ever seen.
ts the "young voters debate" have you ever just considers right wing parties don't have much to talk about on the subject because they have polices making it harder for us to rent, get an education
Because this was a 'Renews' debate who are extremely left biased.
So you're saying National and Act can't answer hard questions? Makes sense with their lack of costings.
plenty of hard questions went both ways. National, nz first, and act just made them look hard with their ridiculous answers
Lee Donoghue has real “deer-in-the-headlights” energy.
Kinda unsurprising when you have multiple people in the debate converging on one person.
They're ganging up on him because he's the only one talking sense
@@thethinkinghats Very true, Lee is someone who is here to convey his and his parties ideas. Unfortunately he was being watered down by the people on the other side of the political aisle.
That and you can already see this audience's political predisposition by their reactions.

Lee's the only candidate on that panel that actually makes perfect common sense
The mediator asking how can we check gender at schools is just ridiculous. How about we just use the same common sense we have been using for the last 100+ years?
That interviewer was SO BIAS towards the green, labour, Māori side. Always supported whatever those parities said. Yet challenged whatever national, act and NZ Frist had to say. The young interviewer was clearly a stupid greenie. Message to the interviewer: Your only there to ask questions, you may have been allowed to debate a little but not only towards one side. One News should get a new interviewer.
its the "young voters debate" have you ever just considers right wing parties don't have much to talk about on the subject because they have polices making it harder for us to rent, get an education etc. also why would they have an old interviewer in a literal young debate??? please use your brain before commenting
@@emmamarlenesoutham Frist off, the right wing parties are not going to make it harder for young people to rent or get an education. Right wing parties just want more land owners to have more legal rights and actions that involve the houses that they own. Because Landowners are paying mortgage and have responsibility for that house. Now right wing parties may defund certain aspects of an economy, but that is to ensure that tax cuts can happen and hard working New Zealanders can keep more of their hard earned money.
Lastly yea I understand why they would have a younger interviewer for a young debate. But that doesn’t justify the interviewer being SO bias towards one side, and try to argue with them, that’s not the interviewers job.
Please think twice and Use Your brain before replying to my comment. Also study the policies of parties and tax policies of parties. Before you attempt to prove a point.
@@jessetheman2645so you don't see any connection between more overseas buyers buying houses (to fund tax cuts ) competing in a finite market leading to increasing house prices due to increased demand?
Or increasing house prices giving a better opportunity to leverage that value to buy more houses, increasing demand and therefore increasing house prices?
Or money that could be used as a deposit tied up in a bond making it more difficult to compete in a rising bubble of a housing market?
Or landlords increasing rent to both cover increased outlay and reflect a reasonable return on an increased value?
Or increased rent driving inflation and making it harder for those trying to build a deposit to compete on the housing market as disposable income drops to meet rent?

Well done Lee...Chloe should be on Shortland St instead of in Politics...drama queen!
here we have one guy representing his views in a considered way yet he is shouted down - rude and completely off putting if you want to be listened to. Lee was a newcomer - never seen before and he cleaned up because he is researched and can talk without abusing anyone. The Look of the Green lady is most off putting
The "look of that Green lady" is one of anger. She is listening to a man who does not care about struggling communities in her country and wishes to focus only on removing what few freedoms have been given to them. A man who only "half" believes in the climate emergency that the world is so clearly experiencing and who represents a party that believes Māori influence is too prominent in the country they have a right to. Of course she looks upset and heated. It's because she cares. If you can keep a straight face while talking about these issues then you suffer from a lack of empathy.
How can the lady that is meant to be running the show and is meant to be equil be so far left wing. She literally was criticising the nz first guy while he was talking and didn’t do that once to any of the others
imagine hearing the absolute worst ideas come out of their mouths and taking them seriously. Just look at their behavior. As soon as the dude starts talking they have to interrupt, make faces and talk over him like little emotional children. These people are involved in government. Children. Giving them the vote was a mistake.

From using the word “transgendering” which isn’t even the right term, to interrupting the HOST of the show, to then continuously interrupting other parties during there time with points that have no valid reason. Every person on that panel represents a political party, these people are politicians fighting for NZ rights, if you make a point and everyone else (including the audience) disagrees with it maybe JUST MAYBE he’s not someone who should be representing the people. Please guys, the person representing Act is right. You put more pressure on house owners, and the rent goes up. I please as a renter. Please don’t do anything. I will find the best rent I can afford. If you keep introducing healthy home regulations, increase the insulation requirement, cancel tax deductibility of interest and all of those “good” stuff, it makes the rent go up. It is like forcing everyone to drive a Mercedes. I just need a cheap rent so I can save enough money to buy my own house one day. Please stop doing anything. Leave it to the market, and landlords will provide good enough houses for a affordanle price.
Spoken like someone who's never lived in a damp, mold infested house in their life, with a landlord who takes 3 months of regular remaining to get the smallest things repaired.

"You want peoples families to not come to New Zealand"? Uh, correct. My wife snd i immigrated to NZ 20 years ago, were both qualified in areas of critical skills shortages, and we were young enough to have a long working lifetime ahead. It was made very clear in the application that our being admitted did not mean anyone else could be, and of course not. It does NZ no good, and in fact would be very costly for the country, to let my unemployed brother in, or my parents who are retired. FFS, only NZ First guy had anything sensible to say at all.

Nz first candidate made a lot of sense the pendulum has swung too far too the left that the abnormal is now considered normal
Hmm... Nah, I don't think so.
I'm a very boringly ordinary middle aged middle class plain white het male of Euro descent, and i reckon the freedom and diversity the younger generations have now to be and express themselves is a wonderfully beautiful thing.
Look, if someone's hurting someone else, then that ought not happen.
But if they're not hurting anyone else, then there's simply no problem, and whether a third person considers another one or two "abnormal" or "normal" is just totally irrelevant.
Anyway, wow, I can't wait for Chloe Swarbrick to be PM. I hope it's next election. She is so amazing.
Progress isn't a pendulum it's a stairway to a better world for all. Women voting was considered abnormal, children dying of disease was considered normal. Dragging people a few steps back towards the dark ages and witch burnings should never be a political goal. Being a better more caring and accepting person should be. If you don't understand change look for good sources of information to help you move with the times, but remember acceptance of other people, new ideas and technology doesn't require understanding.

There are gender neutral bathrooms in many schools, bars, restaurants, public spaces and everyones personal bathroom in their house is gender neutral. I understand that not very long ago public toilets were not even gendered - in many places, only for men. Even less time ago, in many places different races couldn't share the same bathrooms. The fact that they would bother to make a policy preventing people from using the gender bathroom of choice is wild. Green Party rent cap is intellectually shallow, first order thinking. Yes rents don’t rise, but international experience is if landlords can’t cover their costs they won’t build new houses
entals and will sell the rentals they do own. The problem is lack of housing which in a free market can only be addressed by either limiting immigration or building more homes.
landlords dont build houses.
in switzerland, rent controls make rents decrease, the only way out of this is build new apartments
@@TheMntnG some housing is being built sold for rental investment. Rent control appears to help affordability in the short run for current tenants only, but in the long-run decreases affordability. in USA to encourage housebuilding the government had to allow exemptions for new builds from rent controls.
@@scipioafricanus4328
yeah, usa is the worst example to follow. look at germany
And that means less demand for houses so instead of an ever rising target people can actually afford to buy or build their own house. Housing isn't an investment opportunity but a social good. For people looking for a for ever home rising prices just means rising insurance and rates. People shouldn't be building to make speculative returns. If you own ten houses you're keeping 9 families from owning a home.

Thank God we got the coalition following the elections last year. Youngies mostly vote Green and to a lesser degree Labour. When they grow up and have to earn a living, pay taxes etc living and working in the real world they vote for a commonsense centre right Party as happened on Oct 14th.
If landlords sell, there won't be less houses. There will be MORE homes to buy.
Desmond here is why is close screaming at everyone how old is she she is acting as a school girl we need to get rid of close swarm brick
The greens don't know how it would be possible to enforce the guys using the girls bathrooms.
How about if the girls see a dude in their bathroom they get a teacher and then that male is warned not to use girls bathrooms by the teacher and there be some sort of consequences for his action. ....Just a thought...
The greens solution would be for him to welcomed into the girls bathroom and then undergo gender reassignment surgery and take a life time worth of estrogen every week for the rest of his life, as this will allow him to feel authentic and empowered as the girl he truly is. Until he realises that he was just a political fashion victim.
Chloe and the Greens believe the affirmation of a Childs gender dysphoria or current trend is more important than protecting children and woman's spaces.
A vote for Greens, Labour or Te Moari is a vote for pro-transvestite ideology to be imposed on all NZ and their children.
I would suggest they're pointing out the incidents of people assigned as female at birth being harrassed even beaten up because they didn't look feminine enough for transphobes.
Transwomen want all women to be able to use bathrooms safely.
Ciswomen want all women to be able to use bathrooms safely.
All women want all women to be able to use bathrooms safely.
Transphobes are scared of recognizing some people are born trans, and that being trans is not a perversion or a delusion people choose. Such a recognition doesn't fit their world view of what is right. They feel they have the right to decide others identities for them.
They would like women's bathrooms to be unsafe for Transwomen because they feel unsafe accepting the possibility being born trans exists.
The reality is people are born with a range of obvious and less obvious intersex conditions which develop as people mature. Men and women come in a diverse range of shapes sizes, colours, hairiness and looks.
There were individuals who borderlined being able to access whites only bathrooms, so who should make the call? The individual or a self appointed bathroom police inspector?
If someone is making a bathroom unsafe by their actions report them.
But if it is a person's differences and presence that is upsettling to you remember Ciswomen grow beards, Ciswomen can be tall, muscled, have masectomies, strong jaws, short hair and enlarged genitals and if your actions are the ones making a bathroom unsafe, you should be the one reported.
Transwomen, Ciswomen, all women, want all women to able to use bathrooms safely.
The reality actually is that people are born as either male or female aside from a minute few have genetic abnormalities who are legitimate hermaphrodites.
The sex of a person isn't on a scale, you may have a male who has socially feminine traits, but that doesn't make him a female nor does the amount of hair they have on their body. Being male or female isn't dictated by the mood you're in on a particular day, or the colour of your skin.
The reality is alot of women don't want a dude with a dick in there changing room/ bathroom/ boxing competition/ swimming competition/ cycling competition / prison/ job.. Just because that man has gender dysphoria .
Some people don't want women's lives to be negatively impacted by a few people who can't deal with there own reality or are jumping on the political/ fashion band wagon.
If some guy wants to put on a dress and call himself Tina then that's fine but I think the problem is that Tina is now insisting that everyone recognises he is a woman, When the reality is he's just Dave in a dress in the wrong bathroom... @@OldOneTooth
@@garethdelux9266 rather than answering your year 8 science advice with an explanation of microchimerism, epidemiological impacts on the expression of the SRY gene etc which after all is still under study. Let's keep it simple.
Q: Who gets to decide your gender and how will it be enforced?
How are you going to help ciswomen who look different, feel safe to use bathrooms by legalising harassing, bullying, preventing and in some cases assaulting anyone you feel doesn't look feminine enough, from using a bathroom?
What is your solution, visible tattoo's, ID cards, implant chips, combined with medical certication boards who assign gender?
Transwomen, ciswomen all women want to be able to use bathrooms safely.
When you attack some women's rights to do so others women's rights will be breeched, because rights are indivisible, they are shared not scared.
Why not campaign on modernising bathrooms so all women feel safe from attack by any man or woman who wants to use them instead of attacking one group of women with an unworkable policy that could never be safely policed?
Sure women will have to queue less, men queue more if all spaces are gender neutral, but everyone will feel safe.
You may not accept transpeople exist, but plenty of us, that know them do. One lovely lady was even my MP.
Oh and about 1 in 200 are born different.
It sounds like you're saying that women who have masculine features might be stopped from using female spaces...I think that's very unlikely, and I reckon they'd be happy to take one for the team. Unlike Dave. But I guess if you're fortunate enough to look and act like a woman when you're using their spaces then that's your good fortune. And I guess if you get to a certain age in life and you don't know what sex you are then you're likely either a hermaphrodite (which you would already know) or in need of some type of help.
The argument for transvestite's is very very complicated; Which is normally suggests something is being built on deception or in this case nonsense..
In your previous comment you alluded to non pro trans people (feminists) being on par with racists.
The classic pro trans go to.
And now you're trying to align the trans cause with the Jewish plight in fascist Germany.
Which is pretty insulting to the Jewish community.
The irony is that never since Nazi Germany has such a deluded mob mentality, combined with an attempt to shut down speech taken over.
That's right, girlfriend, I said it, The left are the new Nazis...
As for the vaccine passports ..oops I mean the tattoos and microchips and ID cards we'll leave that to the Greens and Labour. I noticed they're big fans.
By the way I don't know if you've heard but the Jewish society of NZ and AUS has requested that people stop calling people Fascist when they're not actually Fascists. So don't go there... I know you've been taught to... but resist.. but I guess If Dave can call himself Tina then you can call me whatever you like... but I'll keep in mind it will likely mean the opposite.
You also mentioned trans people being attacked, But the only people I've seen being attacked are women who wanted to hear other women talk at Albert park, a small group of women being attacked by a 3000 strong mob, then those attackers (men in skirts) then being glamorized by the press. and Oh yeah that poor American swimmer who was forced to hide in a room whilst the trans community tried to extort money out of her... or ... about a quadzillian other examples of trans activists being violent to anyone opposing their ideology.
I guess that what people want in politicians is the ability to be able to display that they are truthful, rational and reasonable.
Which I guess is why Labour and the Greens are polling so lowly.

if you actually cared about the safety of women and children you would know the horrifically high suicide rates amongst young queer people. The bathroom debate is about trying to reduce the suicide rate and anyone who says that preventing trans rights is for safety is only doing it for controll.
