Thanks everyone for the comments, I really appreciate it! For anyone wondering, I still use this guitar as my drop B guitar and its holding up great. Anyone looking to use one of these as a project guitar will be very surprised. Great guitars for the money.
Cool playing! I'm between this one and the Telecaster both of the Affinity series , but I don't know dude... The Jazzmaster seems more premium judging only from videos and reviews.
Owning this guitar for 2 months now and I allready know I will never sell it, maybe upgrade pickups one day but these one are also great, and thats fucking it...
Are those different pikcups or just the same ones but with covers, cause it would be a shame if you replace them, they are great pickups with a really unique sound.
fantastic riff and tone, man! quick question about the pickups... Did you have any trouble fitting the new ones in place of the original ones? I mean, the size is standard? even for pickups with covers like the neck one you are using... thanks, buddy! keep rocking 🤘🏼😄
Thank you! I had to butcher this pickguard to fit the humbucker with the cover in the neck unfortunately. I did end up buying a new pickguard from eBay to replace it with since then though!
@@lee2by4 oooh I see, man... I am considering to buy this guitar and was wondering if I could replace the pickups or maybe just cover them, I think it looks more beautiful with the covered humbuckers... thanks for the reply, buddy! 😄🙏🏼
Hi Lee, Outstanding playing. Loved it. By the way, did you need to cut the pick guard so you could get the covered humbuckers into position. I have the same guitar and I'm planning to change to humbuckers that have a cover. I'm guessing uncovered pickup upgrades fit without any pick guard cutting because that's what comes with the guitar. Again, fantastic work! Charles
Hi Charles, thanks for the compliments! Yes I had to butcher the pick guard to get the covered humbucker in, but since this video I ordered a pickguard from eBay so now it all fits correctly ☺️ I would highly recommend doing the same, they're so cheap on eBay it's really a no brainer 😎
Damn! This riff from 1:39 is in my head for few days already! Really cool. I am considering this guitar. Did you have any issues with fret buzz or anything? P.S. I would increase the volume of drum cymbals.
Hey man, yeah I had to tweak the guitar several times to get rid of fret buzz as expected with low tuning. There's still a bit here and there but nothing crazy. They're great project guitars :)
May be picking up one of these jazzmasters from a friend and was looking at putting in some irongear pickups as well. Was it an easy swap, just rewiring the pickups or did you have to change out more of the electronics? TIA!
Hey man, yeah you can simply swap the pickups over not a problem. It is a standard wiring setup. I did take that chance to rewire everything and put in better components (pots and input) but honestly I don't think it's really worth the hassle. They're great guitars considering the price 👍☺️
@@lee2by4 thanks for letting me discover the irongear metal machine! I'm gonna buy this guitar but now i think I'm gonna buy also that pickup! It sounds tremendly great

I own both a white (alder/rosewood) & black (poplar/laurel) of these. Fantastic sleepers of "cheap" instruments IMO! Great vid BTW!🤘

Is it easy to swap the pickguard? Is there any need for soldering?
You can easily swap the pickguard without the need to resolder anything 👍☺️
What kind of pickup did you change?
Iron Gear Metal Machine in the bridge and a PRS S2 stock pickup in the neck. :)
