Even without skill bonuses, I still found a mana farm to be beneficial due to how many waves there are - the other reason is that a Poolbound starts with a higher base multiplier, and Yellow, Red, White and Black together is still a good kill gem; having White and Black together makes up for it being a Quad-colour, and when upgrading I eventually just make a strong Yellow, Black and White, ignoring Red as it is only needed for chain, which helps scale the hit counter.
i did something like this, i tested the colours, i found the easiest time i had, was a Yellow/Red/White/black with each being one fourth of the whole gem. then in the amplifiers i put four Yellow/White and four Red/White. i did gem bomb every wave, but it was using only a level one gem. i also got every wave early for extra mana. (it felt so op, could be just me, welcome to try it)(P.S: no mana farms, i also didnt drain every mana shard, so there is that as well as i didnt use any strike spells with enhancements only to reset gem cooldown)
Very nice, from a guide perspective I thought going light on bombs would be easier to follow. Have you finished the campaign? Bombing wave is a very strong strategy.
thanks for the guide, 228 waves wow! why do you only use yellows in your amps and not yellow-reds, and also what hotkey is it to add a gem to an empty amplifier?
The red is helpful for the chain, but I wanted to push the crit bonus very hard. Crits can punch through armor well, where chaining multiplies the effect of armor. In that I mean two shots on two targets get the armor twice where the crit applies all the damage against one instance of armor.
Worked great. Thanks!
Great to hear!

The gem of eternity final field
This is just a good old fun field. :)
I used 5 grade 4 bombs to enrage each wave and ended up with like 6 millions mana value in the end and got about 3 dozen achievements.
my logic was that I enrage each wave as much as possible while still leaving the monsters to be 1 hit.
