Why don't you put a toy in your hand and say "go give this to mama, or dada" and so on? Give him an object to give to the person you want him to identify.
Obviously he knows things but you should try letting him tell you in words. Take a few toys and ask him what it is, like car, let him say car to you, a book. Repetition of words to object is key. Not too many toys to overwhelm him at this point.

He has such patience with you. I wouldn't worry about whether he knows your name or not. He knows who you are. "Where's ______" is a tricky concept for someone so little, I would guess. Especially since so much of what he's learned so far has been all about him (i.e., where's your head, shoulders, knees, toes, eyes, hair, etc.) Ami could be right, though. He don't have to answer to you! It is his world, after all.
