If there is as much copper in the world as in my Minecraft cave then it’s fine
There was but we mining it all lol
@@WaterMelwin yea lol

I think it time we start a copper farm
Next time you load that world, a mining company will be there
Graphene:Let me introduce myself
So this is why every new house has plastic plumbing.
Wot
Actually, some old houses use to have iron plumbing, and it was much harder to repair and tended to break more than plastic. It's also cheaper and much easier to repair and replace plastic plumbing.
@@yyyyykhe was talking about copper pipe and old houses didn't use iron pipe, they used galvanized steel and it was terrible.
@@yyyyyk Check your facts
Just took a plumbing class and it seems they’re switching to pex which is what you are talking about, some use pvc for dwv (I think that’s the acronym)
We did some copper soldering and it was difficult but pex is so easy that a monkey could figure it out, I decided to skip on the welding part, because welding is less relevant and I’m not to interested in that part of plumbing
Exactly why I’m holding on to my copper scrap piles
You wont for long
I am going to steal your copper scrap piles now
Copper prices do fluctuate a lot so it might pay off.
Copper is likely going to be replaced as graphene is more easily produced and readily available keeping copper at a higher but not necessarily high demand
It’s a good thing copper is abundant in many countries and is easily recyclable
Copper is a global commodity and has become expensive everywhere. For big expansions into a new application like this, there’s nothing to recycle, it all has to be dug out of the ground the first time. Later, after all the 1st Gen millions of wind turbines and billions of PV panels have been built, then recycling works for Gen 2. Maybe about 30%.
The amount of copper beneath Alaska is staggering. Any shortage would be wholly contrived and manmade
Yeah man Alaska, Canada and USA have alot of these minerals already. Like ALOT
@@mobo8933 And just those placig. Cosidering that under poland there are copper supplies worth TRILLIONS of USD... Yeah, good luck with shortages.
@@szymonpajak4102 businesses are going to be able to justify higher prices due to supposed shortages of materials even if there isn’t
@@imcool8839 and why would they not just do that right now? They can just invent a shortage, so you claim, and then pretend it’s increasing prices.
@@TurdFerguson43 they do 🥺
just use nuclear energy
Copper will still be needed in digital devices and other circuitry, and wind and solar are just two of those many devices.
@@mrcrazie8267 well EVs are one thing we dont need, so thats copper saved.
@@mihkelmatsina1431 reject electric vehicles, embrace and invest in clean (as in clean and tidy) public transit.
People are scared of nuclear fission but fusion could be soon
@@clonetrooper8669 one can wish 😔😔
It's great that the same companies ramping to recycle batteries an recycle copper (and silver, gold, etc,) from the billions of PCBs in electronic and electric devices discarded every year, with most going to landfill.
If the recycling process would not be highly toxic and demanding in energy, it would be probably ok
But its not, EVs will backfire very hard in the closer future when all the chemicals involved for recycling
Forget investing in gold and silver. Buy copper.
Only true subnautica players will feel the pain of a copperless world
In order to switch everyone to electric vehicles mining would have to increase between 400% for some minerals and 4,000% for other minerals. Just from mining alone you will create 500,000 pounds of waste for every 1,000 pounds of batteries. Tesla announce that electric semi trucks will be powered by 10,000+ pounds of batteries. Imagine the amount of waste that is created for one semi truck. The damage done to the environment to create these batteries seems to worse than to create traditional vehicles.
Just build more Nuclear power plants, and the problem is solved. They are as green as both wind turbines and solar.
Nuclear is much greener. The metals mining for green power is not green at all, nuclear does not need it. land development for wind solar not green either.
The large quantities of metals and rare minerals required for electric cars makes them, atleast as of now, not much better than normal cars, especially depending on your energy provider and the ressources they use. This is why I promote public transit such as the bus and train instead of electric cars, the problem isn't that they're electric, but rather that they're cars.
WE NEED MORE NUCLEAR PLANTS!
I hope in the future we get so good with atoms, that we can make any element we want
we already can, in HSC, we can slam atoms together, and create heavier elements from lighter ones
however the amount of heavier elements made is SO small it's completely pointless for anything other than scientific endeavor
Yeaaaaah......it will take millions of years
Nearly all materials go down in real cost over decades. The market is incredibly adaptable. The worst thing that could happen is the government could try to help us against our will for "our own good"
I'm guessing silver will also be in high demand
Actually Gold, Gold is more conductive than copper
@@sandsandwich9217 Gold is tree quarters as conductive as copper. Silver has a higher conductivity
@@JohnnyReindeer Right. Gold’s value is in the surface of connectors where no corrosion, ever, is very valuable.
We will soon resort to planet-cracking
Meanwhile us Indians use copper filter and water containers 🤣
4.7 tons of copper
*crackheads start salivating*
Pro crews move in, have, when prices get that high. Not crackheads.
just search oil reserves trist me you will be scared
That's a lot of resources.
Maybe we will try extracting copper from e waste on a large scale. Not Gonna happen, big tech companies are holding onto copper till it becomes expensive as shit then charge us consumers more and more for new electronics. It’s already happening people, just how diamonds are or any other valuable resource.
I wonder how we're going to get all that copper, surely not from sources that pollute like mining and recycling.
The thing is we have all ready made a breakthrough in fusion energy so in a few year solar / wind will have less farms
few years = ~60 lmao
@@Sch8ill not that much time tbh
@@lennoxdarcyrichardstevenso5362yes tbh ist more like 50 years...
Brother now we got more problems
Many of the metal and mineral resources that are required for our electric future may very well be present in the ground. But the mining and processing can not happen overnight. To build a plant for taking copper from ore to ingots can take several years. And that's just getting the environmental impact studies squared away. So, this bright future is still a long ways off. No matter what the governor of California thinks.
And to think copper is basically useless in Minecraft
Wait there's copper in minecraft!?
Vanadium for battery storage. Get on it early to make your fortune. You’re welcome
Its Time to set up copper wire plant boyssss.
Brooo copper is the thing I throw in lava every day in my minecraft world
Yes guys lets save the environment by driving electric cars
*Proceeds to dig up and destroy habitats to mine for lithium*
It’s still far better for the environment than gas cars
@@couchpotatoes5158hundreds of years of green house gases didn’t destroy 30% of the amazon, but u know what did? cutting down trees which is exactly what is done to mine
@@user-bi2me1kj7p I’m talking about climate change, not deforestation. Lithium mines aren’t in the Amazon, I am completely against deforestation of the Amazon. The fact is that no matter what EVs are still better than mining and directly burning fossil fuels
@@couchpotatoes5158 The what? EVs require this giant increase in metals mining
@@couchpotatoes5158 Is it? Maybe you mean no mines digging up your neighborhood, poisoning your water, so EVs better than gas oline … for you. Some luckless soul in Congo, maybe a giant pit mine worse than 2.5C.
4.7 tons isnt that much for the turbine when you think about transporting the electricity somewhere else
I sometimes work in a very big sawmill and there is sometimes cables on a m² (~9square foot) with a weight well over 300kg (~700lb)
And trust me they have more than 1m² with that many cables lying around
Correct me if am wrong about some translations into american units
4.7 tons ea is a helluva lot Cu when the plan is 30 million turbines. That is 150 million tons increase over existing of Cu 20 million tons a year currently. Just for the turbines on top the towers. Then there’s more transmission, PV wiring, grid batteries, EV batteries motors.
If the plan is mine all this again by blasting the land hell all over the poor world out of site, I want no part.
Sounds like subnautica
Our poo has copper lol
Asteroid mining
Gee if only there was a clean safer alternative to create electricity that we discovered in 1942 but I'm sure that's not a thing right.....
Amazing, all that copper to make all those wind turbines and solar panels, and we’ll still be burning coal for the vast majority of our power
And all this copper will be mined with some of the largest Diesel engines that exist. "Green Energy" isn't really green.
We make EVs so we can pollute the rivers with copper, not oil
Don't worry Carbon nanotubes will roll put soon in 300 years from now.
Right, unless the greens have their way and stop the mining.
Luckily for me I own like 600lbs of copper in my garage
That's why we need to go atomic then we woudlnt waste coper on these electricity sources
Were did you get this info ( what sources)
How much electrocity could generated If people without job would would cycle bike with alternator at thier apartments/Holmes for four hours each day?
The worst part is that all of these things that are seen as 'green' and more 'effecient' are just a drain of rescources. Solar power isnt nearly as effecient and are a pain to recycle, wind turbines only start earning money for themselves after 4 years and they get decommissioned after 8, electric cars are more damaging to the environment that manufacture of a gas powered vehicles, in fact the most environmentally friendly thing you could do is just keep your current vehicle running for as long as possible. It's like everyones objective is to throw everything in the ocean; plastics, useful metals and to melt the ice. It's like no one does their research on these matters before pouring money into any of it, and now countries are banning the sale of gas powered vehicles in a number of years, which is just so silly. If electric cars were effecient enough to produce, not require the same amount of money as a normal car to fill up with todays electricity prices, repairable and 90% of the cost wasn't allocated to the battery then it would make all the sense in the world to switch to them.
you can actually use aluminum too. it's not as good though.
No, you actually can not for low voltage green tech like turbine grid batteries PV wiring.
Unless we make some major discoveries we'll be mining dumbs to recycle materials we need before the next century starts.
Did u know copper can be melted and recycled out of old dead technologies into the future?
Well then find it in space since there is a ton of raw materials out there like oil
Meth heads be like 💡
Unless we go nuclear, expect homeless people casualy stripping wires for copper
They already are.
There are already professional crews that will go and strip any exposed exterior Cu off buildings unattended at night. When the price goes up another 5X, and it will, across the world for a global commodity, infrastructure will start getting stripped. All hanging land line telephone wires, gone. Internal wiring from buildings will begin to walk. As always, poorest hardest hit.
The video hints to plural number of Metals and Minerals and yet it only talks about Copper
It’s a 40s short.
Facts
Its fine, there are other conductors to use like aluminium. It's not as efficient or durable but it works. Then there's silver and gold... which are costly but they're already used for micro electronics
Copper can not be replaced in any low voltage, high amp green tech, wind turbines, PV, EV motors batteries. Only place aluminum works is high voltage transmission lines.
You said minerals and showed us only copper 🫡
Ok so use silver in some of the low weight tech
The “low weight “ part doesn’t matter. It’s the 150 million tons of copper in wind turbines, for instance, which is the problem.
Silicon :am I a joke to u?
Copper gold and silver don't just make a point about copper. There is plenty conductors. There's even platinum
Hear me out. Fuq solar and wind use nuclear.
If this political electric revolution continues .
If ....
Stop calling something in demand when you use laws to effect the market
ahhhh just like subnatica taught me.
"these" ?
These more like this
Aaand then it runs out :-)
So what are you saying? Invest in copper, or copper mining and commodification will pose a serious threat?
Nuclear.
asteroid mining
This* metal* and mineral*
But hurrdurr electric cars are green hurrdurr
Recycle or stuck
Another reason electric vehicles are a bad idea
now hear me out, nuclear and no pivate car ownership
Nuclear and syn fuel cars
wait for the us to find out they missed the mines in afghanistan 💀
Lemme mine
Lol. Solar panels uses nickel. Thats worse btw
And lithium don't forget lithium so ev's hurt the planet just as much or more then gasoline.
It’s a great idea , but they could’ve just used nikola teslas ideas and would have plenty of energy for everyone , but they’d rather waste billions if not trillions on those electric crap things like wind turbines 😂
Ok
We should just abandon solar and wind power. nuclear is much safer and more efficient.
Solar and wind would be cheaper
So EV will be more harmful to environment that normal cars
Eh, EVs different harm. Gas cars still dumping billions of tons of crap in the air every year.
Or go nuclear power
That crap is stupid nuclear is so much better than both of those
"Green energy" is hitting a dead end. Nuclear still remains the most efficient, cleanest, and overall best choice for the future of energy.
radio active waste joined the chat.
Tshernobyl joined the chat.
Maybe we should stop building pointless green energy scams and focus on fusion reactors
We don't know how to make fusion reactors yet
*Gypsies want to know your location.*
And your future is not important
Be optimistic, do not ignore problems, but be optimistic.
If space tech starts to get better amd better maybe even by 2060 we cluld mine minerals from meteors
