In order to switch everyone to electric vehicles mining would have to increase between 400% for some minerals and 4,000% for other minerals. Just from mining alone you will create 500,000 pounds of waste for every 1,000 pounds of batteries. Tesla announce that electric semi trucks will be powered by 10,000+ pounds of batteries. Imagine the amount of waste that is created for one semi truck. The damage done to the environment to create these batteries seems to worse than to create traditional vehicles.

The worst part is that all of these things that are seen as 'green' and more 'effecient' are just a drain of rescources. Solar power isnt nearly as effecient and are a pain to recycle, wind turbines only start earning money for themselves after 4 years and they get decommissioned after 8, electric cars are more damaging to the environment that manufacture of a gas powered vehicles, in fact the most environmentally friendly thing you could do is just keep your current vehicle running for as long as possible. It's like everyones objective is to throw everything in the ocean; plastics, useful metals and to melt the ice. It's like no one does their research on these matters before pouring money into any of it, and now countries are banning the sale of gas powered vehicles in a number of years, which is just so silly. If electric cars were effecient enough to produce, not require the same amount of money as a normal car to fill up with todays electricity prices, repairable and 90% of the cost wasn't allocated to the battery then it would make all the sense in the world to switch to them.
