I would just like to say thank you for your review I brought my first isaw edge camera after watching your video and still use it on Darklapse for night photography it’s a brilliant camera. Glad to see your back on RUclips 👍🏻
The Isaw's were well ahead of their time and for the money, excellent performers, I now use an Akaso Brave 7 which again are a superb price, punch well above their weight and support is superb.
Thank you. This has helped me decide on whether or not I was buying this over a GoPro. The time-lapse video footage was really nice to see because that's something I didn't consider. BTW you should try flat lays too if you ever do another product review :)

My SD card fits perfectly inside the ISAW Edge and the USB cable does not pop it out. Maybe it's cause of the SD card you are using ? Hi, do you think it would be useful for capturing meteor activity? I saw some aircraft trails in your night video clip but is the frame rate suitable for meteors? Thanks.

just a small question. You said that you can charge it when plugged in on a computer. But i am looking for an action cam so i can use it as a dashhcam (because i just got an old opel corsa as my first car) and also so i can use it when i make timelapses of thunderstorms or mountainbike rides. A dashcam would also cost 200 euro and you can only use it as a dashcam, but with an actioncam, you can use it for more stuff for the same amount of money. So my question is: can you plug the camera in in the car in the ciggarete lighter charge thingy (normally you can charge your gps with it and so on), but can it still record when you plug it in there and charge it? otherwise, i have to swap batteries when i am at my work or recharge it there. Some cameras cant record when you are recharging so those wont work as a dashcam.
I bought one after watching your review. An impressive little gadget. Your niggles were spot on, the memory card catches on the frame and the USB lead flips the camera on its back like a WWF wrestler! I would add a couple of niggles of my own. First, you can't use the camera as a camera while its charging. They say you can if you use a mains charger or a car charger, so why not on a normal USB? Second, I bought a spare battery thinking I'd be able to keep one charged and swap them over. However, the camera loses all of its settings including date and time as soon as the battery is removed. Nasty.
+Tim Long Hi, actually you can use the camera when it's charging, what you have to do is power it from a usb power point, NOT a computer USB port, so like one of those newer usb hubs that has a couple of charging ports on works fine, OR, have a look on ebay and search for 50000mah power bank, you'll get the idea when you see them ;) Also I found a USB lead that really suits this camera re plug sizes, again look on ebay for "juicebitz" usb leads. Also I have a friend whos 3d printed some nice lens caps for it, if you email me via my website I'll pass on the details.
+astronomyshed Update... installed firmware update to V330 (Feb 2016), loads of new features including the ability to use as a webcam with PC/Windows. Nice little app (ISAW Tune) on the PC for editing scene settings. I also discovered that if you power the camera on first, THEN plug in the USB cable, then it works as a camera and stays in 'charge' mode instead of a becoming a USB mass storage device. So, getting to know it better and I'm getting happier with time.
@@timlong7289 U Hi Tim - bit of a long shot here but do you still have a copy of that version 3 firmware ? I would like to upgrade my version 2 firmware but the ISAW support site no longer exists for the UK - the only site one I can find is in SA and that is for new products only.
Unfortunately no :( It stinks that they are no longer supporting the product. There used to be an app that would let you configure it and I can't find that either, which is a shame as my display is broken now. Lesson learned, I guess.@@smellthecoffee5314
Hello, can I ask you, why are your timelapses and darklapse so laggy? Which properties did you use? I saw normal fluent timelapses connected with this camera. What do you think is the issue? Nice review btw.
+Matouš Stehlík There is no issue, there is no lag, what you are seeing is framerate, as I said in the video it takes practice to get timelapses just right.
Is this still being made? Even Isaw uk out of stock. Ordered one and then got refunded from Currys because no stocks. Other suppliers say out of stock with no re-stock date. I refuse to pay full whack on Amazon. I will now go for Olfi one five, it has better 4k frame rate and image stabilisation.
+David Thompson Not at all, it's a completely different thing. For a start there is no facility to fit to a guide scope and you'd also have to integrate some kind of autoguiding port. For guiding you want something like the QHY 5 II

+Jenham's Astro Hi, I recon it probably is. The Sony chips are REALLY good on low light levels and this thing goes up to iso 1600!
