SRS was C not S tier and you're missing Ice trap
@@vincentli1064 ice trap is in (20:40), srs was corrected.
SRS lost damage, but poison-based SRS gained damage with the unholy might changes where the net change is relatively the same amount of damage. Animate weapon has the same drawback as SRS, and can also be mitigated with unleash support.

i start frost blades every league and u have like 3m dps with no gears on trickster....for me is a A to S tier
as you say, you start it every league, you know what you're doing, to me Frost Blades feels really awkward to use.
Hence while it's great for you, it would be really bad for me.
I'll call it "Skill Issue"
I played 2 leagues ago, its b for me, kind of gear dependent but fast and can do bosses

Gonna push back on frost blades.. specifically ele claw FB Trickster.. The heatshiver nerfs hurt but its still incredibly viable as a starter.
true, frost blades is the most underrated starter, it's so smooth, i started it in ToTa, on a 10 div budget i got to 20 mil dps against pinnacle (with some lucky crafts that is but nothing outrageous)
I thought you were gonna put dd in Mastercard tier since you need mtx to save your computer

Poison SRS ended up with a net buff after all, but thanks for putting it in C tier so my gear will stay cheap!

Ngl im amazed how all melee build guides offer cleave and other stuff which usually require you to build up rage and then spend it and be slow again and they never say thing about frost blades where you basically need no gear and just scales so easily, destroys maven and every other boss.

I league start Flicker I would say about 60-70% of the time and I do just fine. I start with Oro's Flicker then once I get enough for a Fur I switch to phy to cold. It normally only takes around 15-20 div to make the switch to phy to cold and make it good enough to do almost everything other than ubers. (I have problems fighting Maven on Flicker but I honestly just suck at facing her in general.
I totally disagree on frost blade. Played few last leagues as fb trickster and had no problem to clear all contests.
Last league made fb slayer rakiata dance and it was even better. Very decent clear speed and single target.
I leaguestarted Explosive Trap Trickster last league... it was extremely squishy until I managed to get a 6L Kintsugi, and even then would occasionally get deleted. The summon holy relic/guardian's blessing/zealotry tech was also something I found very clunky, and it had weak sustain but needed utility flasks.
I enjoyed it, especially with Shrapnel for clear, so it can do both aoe and single-target... but I don't think I'd recommend it to someone else as a league-starter. Too many buttons and too squishy for how much damage it eventually did.
Skill issue probably
You've got to be kidding on Frost Blades, it's very easy to play in the beginning KobeBlackmamba was leveling with it yesterday and there are speed run videos of it with a 2 hr 15 min Act 5 clear. You level Frost Blades with a 2h early then move to DW when you bring Trinity on line. After that it's easy.
Frost Blades is only slow for a short period of time. Depending on your route once you get to Multi shot and Trinity between lvl 14 and 25 depending on your route then it's all pretty easy. It was easily one of the best leveling build I tried this league and i tried it as a starter right into maps. It's easily B or A tier, Zish as a very good guild on it and extensive video.
I really believe that BAMA deserves an S tier, going Guardian might have less damage then a Necro late game , but early it has smooth leveling and all the benefits of a Guardian later on
We need this for 3.25 need to know where you think these melee skills will fit in
In what way would mana builds ever struggle with resistances...
1. Decent res from tree
2. Life and mana prefixes and random res + attributes are pretty much the only stats you need.
Obviously this is based on Archmage carrying damage as hard as it seems from theorycrafting.
i just came back to PoE after like a 3 years break and wow the game changed quite a bit in the meantime :D
Thanks for your thoughts, i just tested Bane with Blight/Essence Drain and got really smooth into low tier maps. i think quite a viable build as well :)

Divine ire with Aurora , incandecent heart and Anathema with Vaal Discipline cost like 2 divines- 4 divines. You go Chaos inoculation and stack energy shield and block/spell block chance.
Could clear all pinnacle encounters, delve 650 in the first 2 days of playing. Still, going with the same build and swapped to penance brand of dissipation and my dmg went up with 2.5mil dps in 3.23.
I do believe Divine ire is a B-tier build atm.
The corpses life scaling is limited to T16, just a note
Flicker strike. Has been my favorite skill since the very first time i played. - I dunno... Just something awesome about the skill, that i love... But i've never had a very successfull build, until last league... Finally got it to "click"... And it just tored through just about everything. But it's a currency dump, and... Not a league starter, but absolutely worth playing, and investing in, if you like the skill like i do...

I'd say this is a good starting point for a main gem focus build; From here you can then go on to find the best guide for whichever main gem you'd prefer for your build.
Unfortunately the Warcry changes destroyed the viability of melee being all rounders as League Starters. They are now all relegated to map clearing and have such slow bossing damage that you're forced to contend with mechanics... yuck.

Last night I did a Alch'd T16 Ice Nova of Frost bolts all the way to the boss which he was the only thing I could not kill at level 70 with campaign gear. Since it clears the entire screen nearly at once it has amazing clear. Bossing would be my only concern with it. But it's certainly not slow.
Well I could have killed the boss, but I didn't want to sit there for 5-8 min, which is how long it would have taken. Of course he was 13 levels higher than I was.
Well, there certainly is a lot I disagree with on this list, many things said that was either "Not a starter" or in the Master Card list that I did a starter build with and they were very reasonable to do so with. For example I did a multiple T16 just yesterday with a single 5 link and a Sinvicta with Splitting Steel, The build has over 40 EHP and 1.5M dps at level 80. Nearly all of it cheap gear the most expensive probably cost 10C on league start, well maybe a 5 link cost more than 10C but that's it. You got a lot of good stuff, but then lots of these builds I'm wondering what you call good and bad or why you exclude the best starter class just because it doesn't have sky high end game numbers, like the Frost Blade Trickster.

only disagree with frostblades its definitely insane starter especially this league got even buffed with 10% more damage for free imo it deserved place arroud A/S/XD
Frostblade has a very awkward playstyle as a ranged skill for a melee weapon.
So if you're used to it, if you know what you're doing it's a good starter.
For People who do not know what they are doing, it's not an advisable starter.
Good list, bama it is for me. I'll mess around with necro and eventually transition to it once I got the transferred gem and whatnot. I'm just tired of SRS and might transition to specters depending.
Cut down on the adds another time, 6 minutes in and 2 sets of adds is just too aggressive for me.
@AsmodeusClips is heist league start still a good strategy? If yes, would you still go TR raider instead of TR pathfinder?

I've played EA a few times - it's very strong. Its one of the few league starters which you can comfortably complete end-game content (ubers). It's also easy to gear (I play SSF).
It's not C tier - it's a great starter.
Im not sure what you are on about with this "master card" tier. FB trickster is an amazing all rounder with one of the best clear skills in the game.

It has been proven as a league starter over and again each league. Check out Zish's Channel for literal receipts on this. I get it. This is your tier list but speaking on matters, if you don't really know, don't make it up. I've seen several content creators that could EASILY do some research and find this information. Wonder what else was seriously looked over.

Probably gonna go with lightning conduit/ storm brand. Played guardian srs last league and want something totally opposite of that.
I need to learn how to make builds. Every league it is the same few builds and I refuse to believe that this redundant, boring stuff is all there is.
People are overselling the SRS nerf imo, the QoL of not having to worry about your minions and being mobile cant be underestimated. And the Sent of Radiance changes were needed, it just dealt TOO much damage. I'd say SRS is B tier still for the hit versions but only for Guardian.
also with Balormages video today it looks like poison SRS is even better than before

@minhocho5487 balormage showed it was more like a 7 mil DPS increase. He had 7 mil DPS when he first switched to poison last league and this league POB was showing 15 mil

I originally said s tier but it does require a little bit to get going. If you craft semi good gear and know what your doing you can clear t16 really easily with very little investment. But I do know it's not recommended to use venom gyre until lvl 80s witch I found to be total bs as I went venom gyre in act 3 and it was easy AF. Campaign was a joke. And it scales almost forever if you switch to strength stacking after youve accumulated wealth

It's absolutely viable, no idea how it is in the "non-viable" tier. You don't use it til later in the acts but that's better than DD where you only use it after level 95, so yeah I dunno wtf that placement for BV was lol

Tier lists like this are pretty pointless in my opinion. You can only properly look into so many builds each league and keep up with the changes. Everything that you haven't personally played last league and took an in depth look for this league might as well flag you as "clueless" and this shows a lot in this video.
What I had hoped for rather than another "let's throw things randomly into a tier list" party would have been that the builds are actually explained in what they do, maybe show a short clip of how the build looks when played. As it is currently, this tier list doesn't really help most people to decide on their build choices based on what they might like to play. It shows or tells barely anything about what the builds actually do or look like. All it offers is a very subjective preference of certain builds from a person who hasn't really played most of these builds recently.
What about Caustic Arrow but as death aura occultist? Yeah some single target for ubers is lacking but normal bosses are fine and clear is one of the easiest

Should I do mage as a starter or do it as a second chr? i was thinking some easy liek explosive arrow(seems easy for controller) and then looking for a build that plays like a d4 mage but maybe I go in with decent gear and stuff playing it :)
If you're new and interested in playing a classic mage character, even though it's listed as C tier here I would suggest going with arc. The reasoning for this is arc builds tend to be pretty safe because of how the skill works and one of the best build guides written to date is for an arc build. It's very much still usable, you just won't be blitzing juiced red maps right away with it.
More important than anything else is that you understand why your build works and the general dynamic of what affixes to look for and how to approach endgame without running into a wall. I'd say the arc guide and righteous fire guide (basically, a ring of fire around your character you use to burn stuff to death within close proximity) will give you the best tools to start with. There are many stronger builds out there but this game is very complicated, and making a single mistake in your build can brick the entire thing if you're not careful like missing an affix that converts damage or something.

Was planning on playing the zoomancer using ur most recent necro video, is this a good idea or do u have another suggestion for my first league as a new player?
i think you have to ask yourself what kind of playstyle you like in other games. If you like slower, more methodical playstyle where you have to micro-manage and press several buttons, zoomancer is for you! it can be a bit overwhelming though with alot to manage, so i'm not sure i'd recommend it for someone super new. Any ignite elementalist build is a lot easier, and righteous fire inquisitor is the go-to "easy mode for beginners" although you'll want to follow Pohx's guide for that one. What build you start really kinda depends on your gaming playstyle and maybe a bit on your general experience.

@@proffit4706 you cant go wrong with minions, its only a balancing act of minion survivability and dps. of course theres alot more things in the game that can improve your playstyle and clear speed but for a start, think of minion damage and minion life/resistances. that should bring you pretty far

@@soshspotgames4380 I'm not sure what you mean by micromanaging as a zoomancer. As most of your minions are permanent and even offerings can get automated pretty early in the game, I feel like Zoomancer is one of the easiest builds in terms of micromanagement. You run around and your minions kill things. It's about as complicated in terms of micro management as righteous fire.

You probably won't have a good time starting that skill. I don't just say that because of the nerfs, it still will do pretty good single target, but the clear is really bad. You're not gonna be able to play it as a charge stacker early or have access to Oriath's to help with clear. You may even find it's hard to get your hands on the gem in general. If you wanna play a bosser, there's just way better options to start.
