To travel, or not to travel? Big question for 2021🤔 From personal experience of losing our jobs in the hospitality industry - travel is an essential lifeline for those areas whose economy relies predominantly on tourism🙋 For us, we are going to keep supporting the tourism industry going into 2021, but just with extra precautions😃 another great video guys!🤗

I just did a 2 week 9k mile cross country trip ( somewhat inspired by Tim and Fin). Road trips are actually safer than my day to day life. Most of it is me and my wife (and the dogs) In the car, then in hotel rooms by ourselves. When we visited things it was out door National parks. Take out meals and I’m more isolated than at my house. Travel is the way to go.
Awesome! I was just in Puerto Escondido 3 wks after you guys left & also stayed in the Rinconda area right across the street from Cafecito. Love that little neighborhood. Our favorite times were spent on Zicatela & La Punta. We stayed all the way until the day after new year's. We sat almost exactly under the palapa y'all were at and watched the final sunset of 2020, it was epic!

Thanks for sharing! We continue to travel as well (same multiple tests and precautions along the way) and we try to support our hospitality sector as much as we can! There are so many people dependent on tourists (both local and international), let’s hope for the best as the world opens up 🙏🏻❤️

Great video for an area that I hadn't seen before and the surfing was incredible. Our daughter spent two months in Oaxaca about 10 years ago, but she was mostly inland. I'm sure itching to start traveling again and being from Colorado, we're looking for somewhere warm, so Florida it is for 3 weeks starting on Sunday.

I have that same rash guard for surfing! I just love seeing you guys surfing haha. This is the best. I also snowboard but yeah surfing is sooo hard!! Even when you’re not catching the waves, it just feels amazing to be out in the water and in the moment. You just gotta be OK with knowing that you’ll never need to be a pro-surfer and just enjoy the time while you’re out there. I bought my board 11 years ago and go out every summer and still am not the greatest lol.

Incredible video...in 2021 we in California were still dealing with lock downs (3). I wish I had known about renting a van and traveling. My salon was closed 3 times. I think we were the only salon that actually did close all 3 times...loss of clients even now, June 2022, is still evident. Thank you for the brake and interesting details of traveling during the Pandemic 🥰🥰
So Fin, you're not 100% perfect after all. Don't worry, 99% is as good as. Don't give up on the surfing. Once you catch that wave, and I'm sure you will, you'll love it and you'll be addicted for life. Love the video. Good luck to both of you.

Keep on trying and watching what the consistent (catch waves easily & pop up) surfers do. It takes time and a decent amount of wave knowledge. All that said remember it's about fun (the Stoke). Oh yeah, Tim you will need that center fin...
Very cool...as I watch from winter’s chill here in the Sierra Foothills of N Cali....definitely wish is was there. No surfing for me either, but the waves are nice.

Good for you guys! Like anything (climbing, surfing, motorcycling, etc.), traveling during a pandemic is all about accepting and managing risk. I traveled to the Grand Canyon, then visited family over New Years, and I’m feeling fine (cough cough)...kidding!

Spent 3 weeks in Ecuador over November. Just moved from Hawaii to Guam for work. Have to do 14 days of quarantine here on Guam, so traveling will not happen till that changes and I can test to get back home with no Quarantine but can’t wait to visit all the places in Asia and pacific that I have not been.
I knew you two were smart! Mexico is the best place to travel to... it’s sad that too many Americans wanted to build a wall 🤪
We're heading back in March. Now that we're in FL, it's just to close to not go to MX as often as possible.

thank you so much for sharing this. We are stuck at home in Canada and wishing that we could be on the beach. I love your honesty, it's so refreshing after being told by our politicians that the borders are all closed and we must stay locked in our homes. I have to admit I was a bit worried because I thought you would have a lot of judgy negative comments on here, because of the content but it looks like we are all behind you a 100%. We chose to move our trip from February to September, but that's just us....I don't think I am as worried about the resort as I am about flying....the closeness on the plane worries me for now. As long as you manage to take care about yourself and dont risk others, id say ill do it (but as you say its up to each one). What is true is that touristic destinations economies are struggling more with the lack of tourists than with covid in many cases.

@@timandfin It's a 'wait and see' game right now! Apparently Canada didn't act fast enough when the vaccines started rolling out so we don't have as many vaccines coming our way very quickly. Plus, if we travel outside of Canada we have to prove a negative test two days before getting on the plane to come back home or quarantine for 2 weeks. Apparently, depending where you travel, it's not easy to get a Covid test in the time frame Canada requires 🥴 It seems the rules change daily!

Hi you two! Thank you for all of this great info. Where are you testing for Covid in Mexico? How much does it cost? USA is requiring negative Covid tests to re-enter the country after Jan. 26, 2021.
We've been traveling all of 2020 up to now. Started in the US for about 7 months then headed over to the UK. We were planning on going to Thailand but the UK strain shut that down. Now next weekend we're back on a flight to the US for a week, then on to Mexico for a few months. But not Tooolooom!

Thoroughly enjoying your Mexico vlogs in preparation for our first trip to Mexico (Cancun/Riviera Maya/Tulum). We’ve avoided Mexico because of all the negative stories heard from news and travelers stories but hoping to break that this summer. Wondering what your experience has been, if any, of the local police shaking you down for money?
Please don’t only listen to the news, we’re so happy to share so much more of Mexico on this channel!
This is an excellent video , with a really cool beach scenery . Because it is more international crowd rather than just locals the vibe is better . We also liked the fact what Fin said et the end of the surf session - I do not like it . She could have said that it was great she loved it just for the sake of the video , but she came out straight how she felt about it . Surf is not for everyone it was not for me either , no matter how cool it is when you watching them in the water riding the waves .
I think we'll eventually get on board with surfing if we can just find the right place to learn. It def has the steepest learning curve of any sport. You've got to deal with dangerous conditions and mobs of people (which we know, we're just more people) so its never going to be easy to learn. It is SO tasty though when you do get up on the board!

WAVES 50ft. Tall thats CRAZY!!! I WOULD LOVE LOVE LOVE TO SEE THAT or the Ocean period!! All I have seen are 30ft. Tall snow drifts off of lake superior. Lol... from Ontonagon Michigan so alot of winter's are great for skiing ;) I would probably be just like Fin with the waves 👎lol.. but skiing👍

None at all! You’ll declare him/her at customs but don’t need to show any documentation. (Although you’ll have dog paperwork with you anyways)
Are you going to come back to the USA when your phase to get a vaccination for covid is open? Great video! Didn't know they opened the Mexican border. May have to go to Los Cedros Island and kayak fish via CBX in San Diego. Thanks for sharing!
We're in the US now before heading to St Croix in a week. We ABSOLUTELY will be there day one when a vaccine is available to our age group. We're checking our local county appointments every other day but right now they're reserved for 65+.

Did you run into any issues taking photos on zicatela? People can be extremely territorial there, I've seen it first hand.
Try paddle SUP surfing next time. Not nearly as difficult because you are already standing. Can’t learn to surf at your age
