We had perfect conditions so we had to make a run out for some spearfishing. It was a blast and we came back with plenty of fish.

This is sick......I am a avid hunter and fisherman....but climbing into a fish's home and spearing it is sick. No sport to this......they lay docile like you in your living room.....you approach with a spear and shoot them and then call it a sport. My God Man...grow up..
We are holding our breath diving 80+ feet while being stalked by 8' bull sharks. While doing this carbon dioxide is building up in our body and we have to resist the reflex to breath. Also, while that is happening we must control our heart rate and keep our body language calm so we don't spook the fish we are hunting. Once we pull the trigger we must still battle sharks more often then not to claim our fish... But you're right nothing sporty about that.
Sporty... freediving actually requires athletic skill and plenty of training, now add hunting into the equation and you have the ultimate hunting experience.

Funny coincidence, another great youtuber: "Bluegabe" just posted a video of spearfishing as well, and he caught on camera a large Goliath grouper swimming straight up from the bottom to try & grab the barracuda dangling beneath him that he had just speared. That Goliath almost got it, so perhaps that's what happened to you Joey.

How long did it take you to train in order for you to dive so deep? I cant imagine going any deeper than 20 feet to spear a fish. That's probably about the most I could do at the moment.

That was. A heart breaker when the grouper disappeared. Bet it was those dang bull sharks got it. I really dislike them dang fish stealers. Well you got some for the smoker and some for the pan. I enjoyed the video a lot can’t wait till I can get out there but I’ll have to stay a little closer to shore to start with

Start small and don't push yourself too hard. Take a freediving course if you can.
Get a speargun and dive down there and kill something and call it a sport...Maybe you can kill some turtles also.......kill some of anything....just watch it bleed and then blame a shark who wants to claim a fish in his super market........big bad shark. sporty.....my butt.
