I disagree. R370k gets u the top of the range Clio, on the other hand to get a fully socked polo you will have to spend Way more than R400k , not to mention the high risk factor with polos. 2ndly the polos will get outdated so fast cz they refresh it each and every year, whereas the clio will hold its design… for me polos are a double NO
The previous generation Clio didn’t have the funny boot opening thingy like this one has. I also agree that 5-speed manual transmissions in the new releases of today does seem somewhat primitive, especially with ‘premium’ hatches like the Polo etc. But with that said, I’m so glad the Clio 5 is finally in SA! Thanks for the video! 😍
I had a similar issue when I bought my Citroen c3 last year but I quickly learned how to open it. It must be worse for Juliet given that she only really has the car for such a short period of time. But I must say that I do love the colour and the shape of the Renault Clio here.
Im sorry to say i hated my vw car the delay in the auto box when you needed to get moving was utterly dangerous. I can say i have just test drove the hybrid clio and its far superior to drive and the interior was better than vw. This will be my next car without a doubt. Personally I think Vw is an overated car it has problems of its own which Vw were totally not admitting too and this has put me off ever dealing with them again. The Clio is awesome.
You got to love the comments for this car 😂 so I agree wholeheartedly that car prices are crazy but come on guys you can't compare a Chery Tiggo (SUV) against a hatch. Very different segments irrespective of its price and the perceived value it offers. There's a reason why Juliette is stacking it up against the Polo
What is a Tiggo? Clio was number selling car in Europe 2021. So even polo is not wow as Juliette praising it. But South Africa is very bias n stereotype.
Hi Juliet, Lucas’ child seat’s top tether strap is twisted. Please make sure you fix it, a top tether failure can cause head injuries to a child in a crash. It should also sit taut against the backrest, there’s a strap you can adjust to tighten it.
@@garyandalisonparsons4292 Hahah yes all car prices have gone insane. After seeing the Cherry Tiggo reviews this just seems like a total waste of moolah 🙃
But then you have a k@k car. Completely unproven (actually worse, their track record is bad not just unknown) and the engineering is subpar if you look beneath the gimmicky tech (engine, suspension, braking system)

Enjoying your reviews. The option of a 6 speed manual or auto is a must for this market and target audience. The economy is not good enough for a 1.0T, I think the extra gear would make the difference. Whats the start price for the range, if you looking at the entry level and what’s included on the base model?
Damn, R373k for a 1lt engine. I'm still driving my clio 2,1.2i engine. I just pretend I'm 10yrs back in time so cars made in 2012 are still the latest. So I can still afford the latest cars.

I switched off after about three minutes of your comedy routine. In the course of my brief encounter with your presentational 'efforts' I was struck by two things: (1) almost unbelievably had I not witnessed the act, at one point whilst driving you took both hands off the steering wheel for a few seconds - if a police officer takes a look at the video you might well be receiving a traffic offence summons through the post any day soon (2) your observation about the admittedly quirky boot‐release mechanism is beyond ludicrous, claiming you nearly injured your shoulder in the process of getting acquainted with it - I own the same model and it took me less than five seconds to familiarise myself with the mechanics of the thing, the 'answer' being blindingly obvious; I suppose it would constitute an immense challenge if the motorist wishing to gain access to the boot had one ounce less brain than a retarded rabbit (not that I'm suggesting you come in that category I hasten to add). For a car reviewer you make a good vaudeville act! Indelibly memorable.

The new facelift Polo comes with a 5-speed manual as standard in the UK. Couldn’t believe it when I was checking it out
The base and life model face lifted polos are also offered in 5 speed manual
@@q3b26 you have a 6 speed version, don't bi*** around
The way I love this car I can ignore the 5-speed thing. Would be a great first car.
Exactly my thoughts, it's a great car for a first car

the clio in europe comes with a 6 speed mt on the 1.0 tce
So does my UK model.
Is the cars sound system good? Like I wanna look cool in it while driving it😂
In Europe they started with the 5 speed, but eventually they ditched that and put a 6 speed in it. Automatic is only for the hybrid version.
You would swear South African car journalists are bought by some manufactures 🤭

Thank you for This comment, i wanted a Vw next, but clio v as a first car here is not to be disappointed about ☺️
Would it be a worthy upgrade from the Clio GT Line 2018? Is there going to be a new GT Line coming out?

That boot opening thing makes no sense. Did no one use the boot before signing the test car/whatever off?
R360k is a k@k load for such a little bit of car. Would rather go for the Chery Tiggo Pro 4 at that price….
Agreed.. my first thought as well.. its a 1.0L Renault Clio for crying out loud... Crazy price
Aren't all car prices crazy?? To me they are but agree, a Chery Tiggo Pro 4 seems like a much better option at the moment!

Polo costs a lot more these days.like a MINI price
Are Renaults expensive to maintain and service? I’ve heard they really bad in that regard
Me too
Lol I am on my second Reno all new all great. Out loved most VW's that were bought the same time
Renault should be investigated for their consumption claims. My wife got a Kiger and even in almost constant Eco mode its hovering over 11/100km
