The river trail is definitely a cool place not many outside of town know it's here which is great. It can get congested on weekends as families come out of the wood works to do an easy hike. I like it because there is flowing water which is rare in Socal. Best time for solo time is when they first open the gates mid week but even then you might have a few cars ready to enter
