    I absolutely love your new tutorial videos. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with everyone. I researched how to do the pin stitch, in the past, but I couldn’t ever get it quite right. After watching your pin stitch video, I am now enjoying them and it makes my back even neater.
    Watching this tutorial on stretching and lacing helped me to believe I can do it and add a new skill. I just finished a large and time consuming piece and was trying to decide how to finish it. I now feel confident that with your tutelage I can stretch and lace it and frame it for display.
    You are doing a great job with your tutorial videos: they are clear in appearance and in instruction, and they are to the point, yet have enough information to encourage doing it oneself.
    I look forward to many more.

    Perfect timing! I have 3 frames that are almost made and ready for staining. And then lacing will be the next step! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. For as much as I love to stitch, i can't afford to have every piece professionally framed and laced and I don't trust box store framers to do it correctly, even though I know some may be good at it. Thanks again. I can't wait to get lacing!

    Thank you for this video, I'm a long way off finishing my stitching in this way, but I'll know how to do it when it comes to it!! I have a request, I was wondering if there might be a chance you could do a video on Au Ver a Soie. I am really interested in this thread for cross stitch, but being a newbie still I'm ever so confused about it!! Also do you use Sulky, if so what would you recommend for weight for cross stitching!!?? I really want to start using other cross stitch threads but I've no idea where to start!! Samantha xx

    Thanks Nicola, very clear and easy to follow. I notice you laid the linen on the board but did not pull it tightly across to actually stretch it , apart from tightly stitched areas. Have I got this right? I have struggled to pull my piece tightly enough before pinning to avoid wrinkles

  • @urbanstylejantine810
    @urbanstylejantine810 2 года назад

    Thank you so much. Question: I didn't get how you did the measurements. I thought the half cm should be detracted but you added it. Which made me think: I will see it when she frames it but that part wasn't shown. If you add the half cm to both sides the board won't be able to fall into the frame?
    Besides that, it was very clear!

    • @nicolaparkman
      @nicolaparkman  2 года назад

      1.5cms sits under the frame, I want 0.5cms between the frame and the stitching, therefore a total of 2 cms needs to be added to each side.

    Thank you very much Nicola for such a comprehensive tutorial. Hope to put your tips into practice soon.
    Would you consider making a video on stitching 1over 1 ? Also perhaps in your next video you could give some advice on how to best personalise a sampler whilst honouring the girl who stitched it originally? I have made some small changes to the sampler I am stitching, such as spacing and verse, changed colours up a bit. And where the girl stitched her name I plan to stitch my initials but not sure how I could get her's in to say that my sampler is based on her's. Also how do you feel about such adaptations? Many thanks 🌷
