The Öyster boys have one of the most unique and awesome catalogs in rock history. Their “hits” don’t even come close to the genius of this incredible treasure of the American Rock scene!

They are so much more than the radio stuff. They never the recognition they deserve.

The organ player is the late great Allen Lanier! Sadly he died in 2013 but except for 1 year in the 80's he performed with them until 2006 when he retired. Amazing keyboard player and also second guitarist! Then Came The Last Days Of May is a song you should definitely react to, the studio version first. But after that the live version off of their 2002 live album A Long Day's Night is an essential watch that features an amazing guitar solo from both guitarists.
Also some information that might be useful is, yes like others have pointed out in the past, all five original members have sung lead vocals at one point. Blue Öyster Cult is a band of musicians, and every one of them plays at least three instruments. The lead vocalist is Eric Bloom, who you've certainly heard. The lead guitarist is Buck Dharma, the softer voice who sang basically all their hits, like Don't Fear The Reaper and Burnin' For You. The original drummer, Albert Bouchard, was the one singing the higher parts on this track, and he also sung the outro on Baby Ice Dog. His brother Joe on bass sings a fair amount of songs as well, but I don't think you've heard any of them yet. Allen Lanier only sang on one studio track (besides a couple outtakes) but nonetheless True Confessions is one of my favourites on the album, it's got a very nice jazzy vibe if you want to check that one out as well.
Cheers and I'm looking forward to more reactions!

Well hell, you have to do "Harvester of Eyes" and/or "Flaming Telepaths" from the same release. I'd request their quintessential "Astronomy" as I feel the original studio version has no equal, but you already did a live version....

You should check out The Allman Brothers Band. They had six incredible musicians. Gregg Allman was the vocalist, songwriter and played organ in the band. Start with Don't Want You No More into My Cross To Bear from the first album.

Their latest album "The Symbol Remains" from 2020 is their best in several outings. Should give some of the newer tracks a listen also: "That was me", "Box in my Head, "Tainted Blood", The Return of St. Cecilia", & "The Alchemist" are all fantastic and top form B.O.C.

Recently discovered your channel and I'm really enjoying your reactions to the great music. Among others I've watched your reactions to Lee Michaels and Traffic, as well as Joe Cocker singing "With a Little Help from My Friends." So I want to recommend another by Joe Cocker. It is a song by Traffic called "Feeling' Alright." Joe takes it and makes it his own. It out does Traffic's version -- not an easy thing to do. If you can find his studio recording, try that, if not see if you can find his live version during his Mad Dogs and Englishmen Tour. You won't be disappointed!

Another change of pace song by BOC is the beautiful "I Love the Night." Any song on the Agents of Fortune album would be great. Most of the songs are very different than Don't Fear the Reaper, which was the big hit on the album.

I keep telling Reactors to quit listening to their Patreon and their suggestions and listen to us Your RUclips Viewers and not to them as far as their RADIO SONGS suggestions !! Many fans consider this the weakest link on arguably their best album. I don’t get it. I think the song rocks. Always liked it. Sometimes miss the writing of Albert. But the album is fantastic. Anything else from this album would be awesome.

You can tell Albert was “influenced” by Zeppelin’s Rock and Roll with the Drum intro.
