- Abandoned Kmart - Parkersburg, WV. This location had been closed for many years, and the exterior left to fall apart. Supposedly this location is also haunted.

I actually miss Kmart. I'm a 90s Kmart kid. I remember my childhood Kmart very well. Kmart had really cool toys that Walmart never had.
@@shainahullihen1159 I never got to experience Ames, sadly, but I can say I've been in a Hills store, when I was a tiny fart lol.
Yep those we're great times going to Kmart as a kid in the 90s
Those were the days
Was just thinking the blue light specials and the eatery wow I sure do miss the Kmart and Hills loved their pretzels lol
Great video Wallie. I'm glad you were able to find and use some of my photos as well. This was my K-Mart growing up. I remember the Christmas layaways, getting my fair share of Traxx shoes, and hiding cassette tapes in the toy department until i had the ten dollars i needed to buy them.
Thank you for the birthday shout out. Hope you feel better soon.
Thanks for allowing me to use your photos! I feel pretty good! When I filmed this video I was still feeling blah but at least good enough to do the video and day trip.
Thanks for introducing me to another Waterfront Dining gem!
I drive by here every morning going to work. I miss Kmart and I hope something good goes in there.
Summer colds are the WORST! 😪🤧. Which goes to show you that germs cause colds, not the weather!
Most sickness comes from the Wuhan lab in china
I lived in Parkersburg in the late seventies and this Kmart was up and running. Sad to see it gone and falling into disrepair like that. Hope something goes in soon. Loved my time living there. Great people! 🙏🏻❤️
That Kmart looks like a place that survivors would hide out in in a zombie apocalypse movie.
Attention K-Mart Shoppers. The Blue Light is canceled 😞
You're correct.
From what I remember apparently before this Kmart was here there was a house which was owned by a family and some teenage girl set it on fire and locked the family in there while they were all asleep
Which is the reason why it's haunted
From a little reading, the teenage girl was their 15 year old daughter that was mad that her parents disapproved of her 19 year old boyfriend, so she nailed the windows shut, poured gasoline, and lit the house on fire, killing her parents and 10 of the 12 kids. Only her, a brother, and grandpa escaped. She was never charged.
Ghost hunting in abandoned buildings would be an awesome video idea especially for Halloween!
Kudos to your RUclips Channel, Wallie! I've heard that the Parkersburg abandoned Kmart is haunted. I've had personal experiences with the paranormal. I've been to the Moundsville Penitentiary on ghost hunts and I had heard footsteps, voices, and various other things that I couldn't debunk.
I love your videos i love seeing abandoned kmart
Glad You are feeling better
You really should start the ghost hunting stuff! I think that would be really cool for your channel! And I can’t believe they welded every known entrance shut😂
Fellow Pittsburgh resident. I had a medical issue, and on the way to Urgent Care, my car's A/C failed. And then Urgent Care sent me to the ER, so got to even more driving, with no A/C, sweating waterfalls, and, of course, very sick. Definitely one of the more miserable experiences I ever had. The hospital staff almost seemed surprised I was sweating and feeling dehydrated by the time I got there.
A house use to be there and a fire happend to the house in 1969 and killed 12 people and people say they heard voices over the speakers and things fell off shelves and more.
on June 8th 1969, that Kmart was an old house which a young 15 years old girl, who set the house on fire in that same spot where the current Kmart is, i think there was her sibilngs and her parents when they slept at night, yes she she burned the house with them in and she was the only survivor also when this Kmart was still in business, empolyess said that they hear something very strange in the speakers where they play music from 80's and other type of music because there is a video from Nation Decay about this location which you can take a look at, his video - ruclips.net/video/rDVT_gbqWQs/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/G0sbfPjz8zs/видео.html there was 2 parts
@@WovenZanesCats oh thanks for telling me about 2 parts, i only saw part 1
@@bandithalo8697 also i was the one to tell wallie about this kmart and well he went✅️
@@WovenZanesCats im guessing that they never taken down this Kmart store down since its next to Krogers
@@bandithalo8697 im surprises its not even destroyed yet, i think a rural king would fit perfectly there, who knows maybe it still sits there because its haunted lol
I remember when I was little I used to stay at my grandma she used to take me to the same exact Kmart The customer service was very poor I don't remember ever witnessing any paranormal stuff but I can remember walking through there The nostalgia just hits me now to see it in just such decay makes me very sad. That specific Kmart opened in 1970 a a few years after a house burnt down that used to sit there I think 10 people lost that lives that day it was a 1967 I think I remember hearing my grandpa tell me that story a lot
Wow a old Kmart 😕 video
Awesome Wall
Thanks for sharing. Please go get hydrated and cool down. Awesome pics
Speaking of Kmarts, a Kmart was closed in Grand Central Avenue and replaced with two stores a few years later.
And while I'm on the subject of Grand Central Avenue, an old TJ Maxx building that's next to a Sportsman's that's empty. According to the news, they moved a few years ago. It was where Sears was. The Sears got demolished and replaced with 4 stores and TJ Maxx is one of them. Grand Central Avenue is not too far from Parkersburg, right in the Vienna area, I believe.
Grand Central Avenue is about a 15 minute drive from this K-mart Wallie was filming at. The K-mart on Grand Central in Vienna is now a Hobby Lobby and a Mardel. The Sportsman's Warhouse next to the old TJ Max is open and is actually very new like opened in the last year an Office Depot was there before that(I think it was there for 20 years or more) Yes the old Sears was torn down and is now a TJ-Max, PetSmart and two other stores I can't remember the name of.
@@TheAtkey Ross and HomeGoods.
That Kmart reminding me of a scene from The walking Dead the way it was all boarded up and welded up
I just watched a video that someone did of the last Kmart somewhere in New York. It is really nice and fully stocked.
Another great video! I miss K-mart! This one does look it could be out of a horror movie!
What amazing video I miss my Kmart 😢 lots lots of good memories miss that layaway and blue light 💡 special I used to work at Kmart 2007-2009 😢 I can’t wait for the next one 😊
First hope your doing well love you and your videos me and my fiance are big fans of yours have a blessed day or night 😊
My grandma would drive mom crazy carrying back things to return to "K-Marts" as she called it all the time. Lol...Thats neat at 10:44ish the wind was picked up like howling in an old 3story house! Oh and yeah do the ghostie hunts WB! :)
I miss Kmart so much
Those images of the final dying days is always sad to see 😔
Awesome love it wallie
Abandoned Kmart is Really good popular requests from good name brand it's seen a better days over there that's a bummer.
How did the shoney’s hold up better for at least 17 years, but this Kmart is the creepiest place after only 8
I'm not sure
Depends on how it's been maintained
The body shop was hot I'm sure but I worked in my parents dry cleaners for 17 years. We would go outside to cool off. The 90's felt cool! Love your videos, keep them coming! 👍👍
0:34 Actually from my understanding according to the Kmart spreadsheet from Reschultzed this location closed in March 2017 so its been closed for about 7 years now
Awesome video I hate summer cold s I hope you feel better
Wow brings back memories, I did a video on this abandoned location years ago as well as one on the location just down the road in Vienna, though I think something moved into that one
I saw this one coming!
As always great video 👍
This is my town 😆
You should visit this kmart too
@@WovenZanesCats eventually
😂😂😂 they look like a modern day Wal-Mart buggy
The holding company actually owns that property the fact that sears kmart owned all their stores real estate is one of the assets that kept them afloat for so long
Glad you're feeling better 😊
There actually are an abandoned toys are us in Rome Georgia. Wall, if ur in Rome, Georgia, check out that place. And it is still standing to this day
Nice
Our local Kmart got turned into a big lots/doctors office
Hey wallie. Absolutely obsessed with the creepy stuff.
Kmart paid the price for not staying current & trying to get by on reputation. It became a very bland chain.
Awesome video! This is the first video I have watched this summer, it was great! That Kmart is creepy and though I don’t believe in like creepy scary ghosts there could be some spirits in there. Also fireworks are great , and with this heatwave we have been having (105 degrees plus) they have started some really bad wildfires and we are dealing with smoke on top of heat.
Waterfront Dining has really great music
Excellent video Wallie. What was the name of the song 🎶? Got an instant wave of nostalgia and want to add it to my playlist.
It's called Beverly Hills by Waterfront Dining!
@@WallieB26 Thank you 🙏🏽 You come across as a very sweet, genuine, personable & happy-go-lucky guy. Wish you all the success in the world 🌎!!
I enjoy exploring and ghost hunting. I have the spirit box and k2 meter. I’ve also been to the West Virginia penitentiary but my favorite location is Trans Allegheny lunatic asylum in Weston, West Virginia…it’s been in the upper 90s a lot here in Maryland. Can’t stand the heat..
There is an abandoned Burger King in Rocky Top TN that has been abandoned for 15+ years and abandoned longer than street view.
I was the first to give it a thumbs up 👍
There is an abandoned Kmart in cudahy Wisconsin. Been abandoned for about 20 years. Lights are still on.
There's a bunch of orange cones keeping cars away from the front of this building lately so I figure they are still working on it.
Sounds promising lol
The photos at the end.....😪
I miss Kmart 😢 I use to remember the store saying but I can't remember it to save my life
I live in Parkersburg West Virginia about time they do something with it it's been abandoned for a long time but I live close to that Kmart I know they need to do something with it before the homeless people break in
there is an abandoned super kmart near me that is owned by a ford dealer. its called northside ford in san antonio texas
One of the top worst things Kmart ever did was to get involved with Sears. I remember K-mart from the late 60's and early 70's and it was a great experience going there but they totally went downhill after Sears became involved.
I used to fill prescriptions at this store
The breeze was probably from a K-hole in the K-roof of that Kmart and if there are ghosts they're probably K-board!😂
A family was murdered by their daughter and son back in 1969 on the spot where Kmart now stands its a very tragic story
Our Kmart eventually became a Rural King.
Our old k mart became a rural king
Lucky mine got a storage place
Is the Vienna Mall still an active mall or is it becoming dead like so many others 🤔
Its starting to be dead JC penny's regal cinema and a few other stores exist in there
I would build a hotel and a shopping 🛍 mall. If I was an architect would would buy that property.
Looks alot like the garbage heights kmart
It’s toasty in New York if you don’t get a breeze 😗
Sad to see.😒
They are redoing it for a tractor sales place
Here a little early
Hey there WallieB26 I hope that a dollar general takes this over and brings it back to life or hope that this would become a Walmart neighborhood market
7:42 Who'd they get to weld that? Ronnie Milsap?
First mention of Ronnie Milsap in 40 years lol
The Haunted Kmart
That’s an old K-Mart. You can see where they widened the doors for wheelchair access at some point. I always tend to get colds in the summer as well. Seems so backward, doesn’t it?
I'm little surprise that Kroger hasn't move yet, because lot of Kroger's are going to lot bigger size buildings, so makes me wonder what's with that, because it looks like that Kroger could easily could turn that Kmart building into Kroger Marketplace, but I don't know it would happen or not, but they could if they wanted too.
I was honestly waiting for them to tear down the building and build a modern Kroger there like they did in Lancaster, Ohio. Alas, it didn't happen. This Kroger got remodeled instead and the K-Mart still sits empty.
the big indian is up above, he still stands where a church use too be, in the red building
Film a Rocky horror show there😊
MY guess another Ollie's Bargain Outlet
First view wallieb26
