9 years, still going strong. Again, John Brohne and Mike Malyan are the Deadly Duo of the new era. After Petrucci and Portnoy, the best duo I have ever heard. Olly left, Baretto left, Malyan joined. All that I have, is memories of Fellsilent, then two amazing bands, Tesseract and Monuments.
I liked a lot Matt Rose too. He has not the power of baretto's voice or the precision of Andy's but has that persenal thing in his voice we don't see everywhere.
I'm revisiting this as well, back when Monuments used to have their own sound and unique vocals. I also miss Fellsilent. This happens to every band with hit albums, like Born of Osiris and Betraying the Martyrs.
I am really sad that the singer is out of the band. I love his screams and his cleans, I saw them live and this guy has the best live stage presence you will ever find!
totally love the way that whenever i look up a djent band i get an add to meet single emos. its metal music not emo all faith in humanity lost. good job youtube advertising.
Don't fall behind I don't wanna lose you We can repair our eyes in heaven It's a white night and without sight I force my way through the crowds of sacrifice And I started feeling at peace with you All this destruction and decay makes me feel sick Face the facts we can't wake up. We indulge ourselves like pigs So I'll eat away the state and force every man to break And take a good look at itself and everything In the name of humanity in the name of liberty in the name of no god [Chorus:] The pressure is mountain high Excuses are always the same We're living beyond our time Still it won't make us change I wanna drown myself in drink so I'm senselessly drunk. Pollution crowds around me and I wanna get f***ed up But before they spend another billion on making it all worse I'm gonna set sail on a mission that we can save ourselves Can we save our selves? Can we save ourselves I'll trigger a reaction In Flames It's beautifully insane [Chorus:] The pressure is Mountain high Excuses are always the same We're living beyond our time Still it won't make us change Everything's breaking down Excuses are always the same We're living beyond our time Still it won't make us change We've broken everything
Sad that only few people listens to them. Cause kids these days would rather listen to bands like asking alexandra or pierce the veil, bands like that. Such talent on this band.
idk why people trash the singer. . . music is art. listening to anything with expectations of it sounding a certain way is misinterpretation. these dudes recorded it and put it out to sound like this. like it or don't im sure they could care less. i have the album and love it
Definitely catching that vibe man. I'm a huge fan of both bands, and I'm so hugely into this band as of late. Can't wait til Tess releases Altered State on May 27th!
im going to be honest, im pretty happy with their release, but they sound a bit much like Periphery with their singer now. the dual vocals on the original version of "Admit Defeat" blew my mind once i got fully into them. although they as a band do have their own sound, i believe they would have REALLY stood out with the original singers.
@Rob duff Thanks bro I didnt even know. I just checked it out. It's badass ! However, they sound very different now and I have to admit I like this heavier bassier (old) monuments sound better.
Vinayak Mukherjee np - yeah new song really good hey - but this song has a very special place in my heart.... cant wait for the album to drop! Take care mate
J Smith so many of the bands currently playing this style of metal are so strongly influenced by Sikth and most people have never heard of them. so sad. theyre so much better in my opinion.
What a great date for the release - International Day of Peace! Let's repair what we've broken: hearts, lives, minds, dignities of people, countries, human relations, environment...
people doesnt like change. This guys did an incredible job giving us something new. And by the way the singer gave something impressive to the table, with those setbacks does guys are pulling.
This sounds very unique. I like the original sound produced with this song and also with The Haarp Machine's Pleiadian Keys. They sound absolutely amazing.
Just discovered this band last night. Listened to Gnosis on Spotify. Damn good band. I like the Arabic influences in their music too. Well, that's what it sounds like to me anyway.
I like the use of "hardcore" screams with the "djent" guitar, instead of plain cleans or traditional growls. It kind of adds something new to progressive, I dig it
great music video. love the fucking vocalist. i like how its just them jamming out and non of that "lets make another generic video of people running through forest" bull shit.
Awesome Video, i see that you actually don't have to switch on HD to see Olly. He was more like that surprise you get in bottom of your cereal! DELISSSSH!!!

this album is literally one of the best albums i have heard.
SAME
This band is really a great revelation for me! I've never heard it so far! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Best monuments singer. So raw, so real.
got this song for free on a sample CD from a music magazine. There was a few bangers but this just stood above all else.
*Honey to the ears*
Matt Rose killing the vocals!
2022 and still coming back to listen to this masterpiece
Same as for me, mate.
That break down makes me go crazy every time
2023🎉
The chorus is outstanding
from a single guitar note to a Revolution . From a dark room and a silent sound to a Breakthrough .
This song is amazing this song never gets old. Monuments by far one of my favorite bands of this year.
the bass tone on this recording is among the best tones i have ever heard!
I really dig that open studio sound on the drums!
I totally agree. It's been stuck in my head for weeks.
The pressure is mountain high!!!!
Excuses are always the saaaaaame!
Entire album is stunning, one of my favourite albums of 2012
This is... Just amazing. I felt grasped by this song. Like going through a wierd trip and opening my eyes. Love this band.
This sound is absolutely huge! if this doesn't move your soul then there's something wrong with you
+Joe Bond Yes!
"The pressure is Mountain high. Excuses are always the same". So siKKK
I am really sad that the singer is out of the band. I love his screams and his cleans, I saw them live and this guy has the best live stage presence you will ever find!
Sooooo good
Monuments is my most favorite band at the moment. Gnosis is fucking flawless. Amazing melodies and amazing grooves, with an incredible vocalist.
I quoted you on this. It deserves recognition.
Anyone who trashes Matt's vocals should listen to 'Empty vessels...' from 1:46 onwards. His dynamics from high to low would slay any critic to shame!
such a good song.
3,3,3,4,7.62
and glory chorus
PERFECTION
totally love the way that whenever i look up a djent band i get an add to meet single emos. its metal music not emo all faith in humanity lost. good job youtube advertising.
The singing mixed with the instrumental in the chorus is mind blowing!
agreed.
so much groove.
It sounded divine!!!! awesome!!!!
I just found out about this band and I cant believe what an amazing sound this is.
love the vocals on this
i love matts voice
Easily my favourite band of this genre
always thought barreto sang on this album, matt is amazing
Don't fall behind I don't wanna lose you
We can repair our eyes in heaven
It's a white night and without sight
I force my way through the crowds of sacrifice

Sad that only few people listens to them. Cause kids these days would rather listen to bands like asking alexandra or pierce the veil, bands like that. Such talent on this band.
probably one of my favorites Djent bands !!
My favorite band right now
These guys are flipping brilliant, next album buy for sure.
idk why people trash the singer. . . music is art. listening to anything with expectations of it sounding a certain way is misinterpretation. these dudes recorded it and put it out to sound like this. like it or don't im sure they could care less. i have the album and love it
Pretty damn epic sounding to me. And there's nothing wrong with the vocals, the whole texture of the different parts works really well I think.
well done
I have a new found appreciation for this song. Might have to buy the album now.
97% Thall 3% Freets = 100% Djent
this is incredible! just found out about these dudes. blown away.
this is awesome! loved the video and the song!
This is still one of my favorite albums that i've ever bought.
making fellsilent fans everywhere proud.

such a beautiful song and the chorus is so good, and i love the vocals
I am in love with this band!! Awesome

"It is Wednesday. my dudes"
That was sick the drummer is amazing!
Definitely catching that vibe man. I'm a huge fan of both bands, and I'm so hugely into this band as of late. Can't wait til Tess releases Altered State on May 27th!
definitely one of my albums of the year(last year i guess)
perfect singer for this song..!! he is live awsuum too !!
im going to be honest, im pretty happy with their release, but they sound a bit much like Periphery with their singer now. the dual vocals on the original version of "Admit Defeat" blew my mind once i got fully into them. although they as a band do have their own sound, i believe they would have REALLY stood out with the original singers.
Going to miss Matt so much..
Groovy
now this is the one! beast mode engaged
Freakin' djent classic. Love it.
🔥
Feel like this band is a perfect fusion of Periphery and Tesseract. Anyone else agree?
i think i found a new favorite band to smoke to!!
we need this back in 2018
Vinayak Mukherjee new monuments AWOL few days ago - its damn good 2
@Rob duff
Thanks bro I didnt even know.
Miss this vocalist
this is different from what Ive heard under the name of this song until now. this version is very refreshing :)
The SikTh influence is real.
J Smith so many of the bands currently playing this style of metal are so strongly influenced by Sikth and most people have never heard of them. so sad. theyre so much better in my opinion.
+mrnemoid how can one be influenced by something if they don't know what it is
one can quite easily be influenced by something without knowing it. Think about it.
What a great date for the release - International Day of Peace!
Let's repair what we've broken: hearts, lives, minds, dignities of people, countries, human relations, environment...
It's nice to see vanilla ice in a new band. Good for him.
Bro🤣🤣🤣🤣
people doesnt like change. This guys did an incredible job giving us something new. And by the way the singer gave something impressive to the table, with those setbacks does guys are pulling.
This sounds very unique. I like the original sound produced with this song and also with The Haarp Machine's Pleiadian Keys. They sound absolutely amazing.
Nice Tesseract song :D
Well, there where members of this band and tesseract in fellsilent, and this band is the sporitual successor of that project .
Was about to write that. Good job there. Wish more people would inform themselves before writing.
I thought the same. With these ambient interlines the balance of the low ang high tones ...PERFECT! d-_-b
One of the guitarists of Monuments was in a band with the current guitarist of TesseracT, you can't blame them for having similar styles.
Just discovered this band last night. Listened to Gnosis on Spotify. Damn good band. I like the Arabic influences in their music too. Well, that's what it sounds like to me anyway.
I have NO IDEA why it took me so long to hear of this band. #%&@!
The singer is great. Sounds a lot like Vision of Disorder
RIP Matt Rose
Best thing I've read all day.
I cannot stop listening to this. Its like vildhjarta mixed with tessaract. Just different vocals. Djesus! :D
Acle Kahney and John Browne (Monuments' lead guitarist) were in Fellsilent together, that's why the bands have similar feels :)
Awesome video, song and great album!
Dis ma jam!
has anybody else listened to their new track? Fucking spectacular
Excuse me, lads. I would just like to know what genre I'm into? Because this is amazing. I'm about to love this kind of stuff, you know.
It's a form of nümetal (or as other people call it neometal) that uses djent
Responses are much appreciated. Now I know what I'm dealing with. It's about to get really nasty over here.
+Dustinn Stifler with the last name stifler I bet it is (if you catch my reference )
Indeed, mate. Indeed.
+Dustinn Stifler check out katatonia
My first time listening to this band, And I like it?
I like the use of "hardcore" screams with the "djent" guitar, instead of plain cleans or traditional growls. It kind of adds something new to progressive, I dig it
Nothing like smoking up a fat bowl and jamming to some tunes like this. :D
European metal has taken a minute to grow on me, but I love this shit now :3
GNARLY
Pure class. Awesome.
great music video. love the fucking vocalist. i like how its just them jamming out and non of that "lets make another generic video of people running through forest" bull shit.
Awesome Video, i see that you actually don't have to switch on HD to see Olly. He was more like that surprise you get in bottom of your cereal! DELISSSSH!!!
Nah, man. I'm digging these guys.
1:55 dat riff.
/ mind blow
first time i hear this band and it sounds freaking amazing :O
Keep up this awesome work
This song would of been real badass if their was a 3 second pause at 3:51 then jumped back in it
"I'll TRIGGER a reaction
IN FLAMES
It's beautifully insane"..!!
