It so strange talking about metro, but showing literally seconds the interior of it. Especially when describing the most beautiful stations using the animation but not a video! What is wrong?
I love the métro but in recent decades, I've grown attached to the bus which permits you to see the city while you travel. Also, often a bus line will be faster and more direct. With my Passe Navigo, however, I have many choices and can pick that which is most useful to me.
Metro lines 1, 2, 4, 5, 9, 11, 14, RER lines A & E, plus most Transilien lines, and soon almost all tramway lines have AC. Some older trains on line B have AC. There was a framework order placed for more than 400 new "MF19" metro trains for the steel wheeled lines that still run old rolling stock (lines 3, 3bis, 7, 7bis, 8, 10, 12, and 13). They'll start to arrive in 2025 on line 10 and will, of course, have AC. RER lines D, B, and then C will also receive new trains equipped with AC. (First new trains on D in the coming months, on B in a year or two, and in the coming years for line C). Or maybe line C already has older AC'ed trains, but I almost never use it so I'm not sure. Line E already has a good chunk of its fleet that is air conditioned and is currently receiving an entirely new fleet of trains (the same that line D will begin receiving soon). For the tramway network, out of 14 lines : Line T1 is receiving new trams that are air conditioned. I'm almost certain line T2 has AC. While tramway lines T3a, T3b, T4, T7, T8, T9, T10, T11, T12, T13 all have AC. I just have a slight doubt about lines T5 and T6 because they use a very different tram type, but they should have AC given their fairly young age. By 2028 or 2030, all lines of all rail-based networks should be air conditioned. And, of course, all new lines from the Grand Paris Express project will have new trains equipped with AC. Though it's not AC like in NYC Subway with sauna platforms and freezer trains. It's much softer AC with less dramatic temperatures changes between the train and platforms. New stations also have AC, like on M14's extensions.
The Paris Metro is not the second busiest in the world. Several systems in China beat out both Paris and Moscow. Also, the New York subway system runs neck and neck with Paris.
It probably is, yes, although figures and numbers are quite murky. Before the pandemic, annual ridership was 1.5 billion trips. I'm saying: the metro alone. That's not counting RER and "transilien" suburban train lines. Line A of the RER alone does 1 million rides.... everyday. You probably can add a billion trips to the metro total, that puts it at 2.5 billion, at least. I only know the crazy Tokyo metro network to rival those numbers.
Very disappointing! It should be retitled 'History of the Paris Metro' . If you want to know how the Metro works and how to use it this is a wasted 12 minutes.
I love French connections! OMG even the metro in Paris is beautiful!!!!🇫🇷❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow this video series has been amazing! Thank you for your work!
The scenery is above ground.
Merci for the information!
I loved taking the Metro when I lived in Versailles/Paris in 2018. I would read my book and enjoy the sights.
Isn't the metro old and dirty AF? all says the same things about the metro of paris.
Very cool 🎉 love the history lesson
Suburban trains in the US = 3 departures every morning and every evening. Suburban trains in Paris: 1 train every 2 minutes on the RER A.

Do Paris trains, including the RER, have AC?
Definitely not all them, some perhaps

Mexico City's metro is modeled after the one in Paris.
