- As a parent, I've been thinking about the meaning of heirlooms and what legacy is all about. That's why I am drawn to shoes like these. They represent time and timelessness. They don't look like much at first take but it's their longevity that will ultimately show their true worth.

Underrated
Copped these as a beater pair since they were so cheap and a pretty neutral colorway, I love them! Leather is definitely a bit more premium too.

You can wear almost anything with this colorway. Its a neutral color and you could let the outfit speak for itself and tone the shoe down. Or you can play with the colorway of the shoe and let the shoe speak for the outfit. Neutral colorways literally can go with anything (like the waverunners 700)

These are worth it if you’re good with the colorblocking. It’s not a black toe or Chicago style but I really like it. Probably the longest lasting Jordan 1 you could buy right now. A
Do you know if the patina or darkening of the leather can be accelerated on these with oils like the pinnacles?

@@minsoochoi I think so too since it should be real vanchetta. Vanchetta leather is very expensive but jordan brand managed to keep this affordable by incorporating the denim which actually gives it a very nice look as opposed to the pinnacles that were all vancehtta and retailed for $400.
Is the width on this narrower than other aj1’s? i wear a size 10 US in all and my size 10 in this is snug in the size that it hurts my foot 😢
I tried them on at home and I can it does a feel a bit snug but I am confident they'll break in very well. I would suggest you go up 1/2 size.

Heirlooms feel like most other Jordan 1s. I would take your regular size!

I have 2 questions, does the denim part of the sneaker clean the same way the leather does? Also is the tan on the sneaker the same shade as tan as most others on sweatshirts, crewnecks, or flannels?
I have not had the need to clean them yet but my educated guess is that they are slightly different but not enough for you to use two different processes (any standard cleaning kit will be fine with both)--I would say there is a higher chance of the denim bleeding if overtreated. I'm not sure what the most common color of tan is but think of a pancake or a very light golden color.
It's a massive misconception that this pair will develop patina, just because it's a PAINTED in Tan colour.
The process of dying leather dress shoes is not the same as how Nike PAINT their Jordan sneakers.
Jordan uses heavy layer of PAINT coating to cover its inferior leather cut, and thus will NOT develop distress/patina.
Dress shoes on the other hand, are typically TANNED using thinly coated with oil based solutions (fats, oils , waxes), to accentuate the higher quality full grain leather. a good example is Chromexcel Horween leather.
When you have this pair in hand, you'll see is not the same as Jordan 1 Pinnacles. this pair has a thick Tan paint.
You can also easily recognise from the retail price point of this sneaker. Pinnacles were $400 retail.
Yeah there seems to be a coati g on them ( have a pair put a small amount of conditioner to see what would happen) no color change, so there’s definitely a coating (I suppose with enough wear the color should change) though I suppose with the denim overlay and a thin cut of leather that’s probably how the price was kept so low compared to the pinnacles
After my first cleaning the paint started to chip and it looks weird. I love the shoes but I think anyone who buys these shoes thinking they will darken with time might be confused. The paint has to go first and water will take it off, is just that fragile

While I appreciate your honest opinion on these sneakers, it seems like you like sneakers that look “distressed” (as you’ve said multiple times). That reminds me of a skateboarder or hippie when they have sneakers/shoes that look beat up or like they need to be replaced. I’m the opposite when it comes to Jordan’s. I want my sneakers to be durable while looking as good condition as possible. Not “distressed”

These are nowhere near in color to the pollens…not sure where people are getting that from…in hand there is not a yellow color anywhere in sight lol not even close
