I like this! I find that Trogly and I have mostly opposite taste in guitars, although we both seem to like nice figured maple tops. I’d love to see Fender do a maple-neck version of this, in white or white-blonde, with tortoiseshell binding and pickguard, and Tele bridge and electronics.
The reason there are no comfort cuts is because they conflict with the double binding. Some people really like the double bound body, some people prefer the comfort cuts. I love the rosewood but this one isn't really for me either. I think I'd have made it a lot closer to traditional jazzmaster specs myself, the only thing on the jazzmaster that I really don't like is the bridge.
