  • Meet Xavier Franceschi, head of the Frac Île-de-France since 2006.
Created in 1982 by the French Ministry of Culture, the FRACs (Fonds Régionaux d'Art Contemporain) are public collections of contemporary art available in each region. These collections bring together on a national scale more than 35,000 works by 6,000 artists of all nationalities.
The FRAC d'île-de-France is no exception, since it gathers more than 2000 works covering all fields of creation. This Frac has two sites - to which a third will soon be added.
Xavier tells us about the mission of a FRAC, the specificities of the Île-de-France territory and the evolution of the public over the last 16 years. He also tells us about their latest major project: the opening of the Réserves de Romainville, the third center of the Frac Île-de-France.
