I've seen another comment referring to respawning time of each rotation. So basically, respawning time of each rotation= respawning time of each chest? If so, I am willing to just stay in one location and keep waiting, because sometimes I get to a destination and then there's no more treasure chest.

you have one thing wrong when you break open treasure boxes of any kind use the axe instead of pickaxe anyone of the three wether sword pickaxe or axe only affects it by one point but the axe don't need wood which is easier to squire than gold and such

just use hands not sure how this is a discussion really. Using any tool will cost materials to fix, no matter how small the amount it still takes something. Whereas hands your health will eventually come back on its own.

Yes but wood is easier than iron plus hand takes much longer it gets tired plus it gets hurt every now and then

you should also cut down the bomb trees, when I cut one down to get wood cause my axe was badly damaged I found a fire ench stone

When i chest farm i use a bow and switch to a player protected noob "im in pvp 104" and when people are farming chests i just sit back with my friend and fire volleys till we steal the chest, plus even if they go red "pvp mode" when they rage they cant kill us. Its the perfect way to counter trollls and spot hoggers
